I give to homeless people whenever I can and I volunteer at soup kitchens and shelters during the winters...
and I hate to say it...alot of homeless people are just lazy and have no desire to work.
Sure we can tackle drug abuse, Alcoholism, mental issues, etc.... but a homeless man/woman MUST develop a strong resolve that they will work hard to crawl out of their situation.

I had a scraper that we used to remove fiberglass from the floor. I would offer pay to clean. Only one man in two years took me up on it. He ended up living at the factory and worked his way up.

@ferdonandebull I am currently unemployed and this is very frustrating because being an ex con and without a driver's licence I am very limited to my job search. I am experienced in a lot different areas of the Restaurant and hospitality industry as well as the Construction industry but I don't have the papers to back my credentials. The welfare system here isn't the best for trying to get anywhere in terms of education and upgrading, it appears to me that this system is only meant to sustain.

Why the amazement that a homeless person should read??? .. I was once waiting for some friends in London and got chatting to by homeless guy . At first I was a bit standoffish as a lot are but soon relised this guy had twice my charm and intelligence .he could tell you how much it cost to put on each show in the West end .. the best shows to see and what to avoid etc .... then he went on to tell me about how when he was married he would travel to the West end with his wife to watch the Opera ..
What a lot of people dont think about is that job searching becomes old when you keep getting turned down, and who wants to hire someone that isnt wearing unwrinkled clothing or smells like shampoo. It wears on the soul. This is not the sign of a lazy person, rather someone that is having a difficult time, think about it. Use your heart and really feel the idea of not having anything familiar, like your bed or coffee cup.

I give to homeless people whenever I can and I volunteer at soup kitchens and shelters during the winters...
and I hate to say it...alot of homeless people are just lazy and have no desire to work.
Sure we can tackle drug abuse, Alcoholism, mental issues, etc.... but a homeless man/woman MUST develop a strong resolve that they will work hard to crawl out of their situation.

I had a scraper that we used to remove fiberglass from the floor. I would offer pay to clean. Only one man in two years took me up on it. He ended up living at the factory and worked his way up.

@ferdonandebull I am currently unemployed and this is very frustrating because being an ex con and without a driver's licence I am very limited to my job search. I am experienced in a lot different areas of the Restaurant and hospitality industry as well as the Construction industry but I don't have the papers to back my credentials. The welfare system here isn't the best for trying to get anywhere in terms of education and upgrading, it appears to me that this system is only meant to sustain.

At first I was a bit standoffish as a lot are but soon relised this guy had twice my charm and intelligence .he could tell you how much it cost to put on each show in the West end .. the best shows to see and what to avoid etc .... then he went on to tell me about how when he was married he would travel to the West end with his wife to watch the Opera ..

What a lot of people dont think about is that job searching becomes old when you keep getting turned down, and who wants to hire someone that isnt wearing unwrinkled clothing or smells like shampoo. It wears on the soul. This is not the sign of a lazy person, rather someone that is having a difficult time, think about it. Use your heart and really feel the idea of not having anything familiar, like your bed or coffee cup.

ive been watching some of these vids about young homeless people... i think they just dont want to work, yet cant understand why they can't make rent. and i guess it must be hard to get a job when ur face is all tatted up or your hair is in messy dreads... i have lots of friends who travel by any means necessary and ask for spare change. but i really dont think its right to sit ur ass on a corner and just expect money because your not really doing anything about ur situation.

Most of the times they spit at you as their conscience don't like to see poor people when they come out of the shop with a full trolley. I rarely begged for money, often for healthy food. I am currently on unemployment for the first time in 23 years. I am highly educated, and I usually make really good money as a paralegal. What I'm saying is aimed at the comments here "We should help this person!" Well, get out there and fucking help her. There's alot of political shit talking about how the country needs to make homelessness a priority. I agree, but... i realise taht it will never happen. I'm saying people dont give half a fuck about the poor like you and I, and its not going to change.
