Great tutorial and easy to follow. I tried the same method but using crumpled paper, and it looked like the American flag was a crumpled paper which was now uncrumpled. Looked very natural.

At 1:14 the height changed because you had the height and the width linked, meaning that when you lower or raise the height or width it affects the other. What you have to do is click on that button on the right of a chain link and it un-links the height and width so you can change both without affecting each other.

@253999666 mess around with the blending options. i tryed this tutorial with the Israeli flag and the "Hard Light" blend mode, and it looked terrible! then i tryed the blending option, "Multiply" and the result was waaaayyyy better

not bad at all. there were quite a few of completely useless "moves" and I would do it much quicker via smart layers but the idea of using displacement is really cool :-) I also agree with eclipse245 commented here earlier.. 6 year with photoshhop and I've never thought I would use displacement :-)

thx. One thing I found was when I was doing mine (I was using the Pakistani flag) I came across a weird black outline of the fabric. I fixed it by resizing the images though.
