Yup, "slacktivism". It's a slang term for moralizing "activism" which requires no actual work at all. Signing an e-petition, sending a small bag of rice to the White House, putting a decal on the back of your car, etc.
I think I WILL make a video about this. It won't be vague, though, and it will be pretty rockin'.

this is part of REAL LIFE...you are spending part of your life here...you are using your brain to watch videos and post responses...you are thinking about what you watch...
we already know that activism can change things...the problem is, that many youths don't have the first idea about activism...but they do visit youtube...and that is why we are doing this...because people visit youtube...and people might be interested in thinking about things of social import...

You may have a point about awareness raising. However, I have 2 important questions.
1:"Apathy" is destroyed by caring. Most who would post videos already care, and most who view the videos of those who would post agree. So is this not redundant?
2:What kind of apathy? Apathy towards environmental issues, human rights issues, etc.? Perhaps we may end apathy towards youtube drama issues. How would this matter?

the key is apathy itself...I think each individual can choose for themselves what they feel they want to change...and maybe they just need a little reminder...so why not try to give that to them on a massive scale?
what will hopefully be taking place is that people that don't normally see vids like this get to see them...that they discover a different part of the youtube experience...and maybe they will think about the message, and act upon it...with their own discretion...

you might have misunderstood what I said in the video...if not, maybe you can watch it again and pull a direct quote from me that is in any way passing any moral judgement about change, or any kind of fascist statement...
what I did do, was encourage people to post their own ideas and feelings about what THEY wanted to change...that is not fascism...and it definitely is not 'pure fascism'...
