OMG I get chills when I listing to this :D good old memories I have al the Video tapes and dvd 's of every episode! I'm 19 and proud of my collection still got the thunderbirds Island the plastic one without sound the one with sound effects and the plastic and metal toys of Thunderbird one till 4 I got the moll also but not 5 :(
what I'm saying is that I still love the thunderbirds to watch and that it was one of the most entertaining series ever!!!
@Andi090386 Yeah that's probably right, cause my exposure to Thunderbirds (and Captain Scarlet and Stingray) was through videos my parents recorded off the TV and they definitely did not record them when they first came out!
Oh MY GOD I feel like a 5 yr old again! i remeber sometimes me an my best mate would sit there for hours watching thunderbirds episodes. i can still remeber 1/2 of them!! i LOVE THIS SONG! I also Have No Life!!!! :) Aw man i love it sooo much! it made my day 2 discover that the movie is £7.00 on itunes!
its just epc to have music like this. I cannot fathom how much nostalgia some ppl get from this, since its from an age where you either had to have a physical copy of music/a TV/a radio or you'd have to hear it somewhere on the street to enjoy stuff like this.
ah... sweet memories... in our time this was what we had. now they have all this new hoohaa that not one person would want to watch. no wonder they're all ending on the first season nowadays.
I am 51 years old from California and I can still remember my sisters and I getting together early in the morning before going to high school just to watch this series. This was cannot miss television when I was a kid. Loved this series then and now. The SunProbe episode was my favorite. Chilling and suspenseful, even for a kid's program. British TV at its very best indeed! Thank you Gerry Anderson for creating a brilliant series and to Barry Gray for the magnificent music themes.
Ahh, memories of school holidays in the 70's... now I'm a 44 year old 16 stone bearded biker who drives a truck for a living and who's hobby is breeding budgies!
For the more mainstream music listeners, check out the Shadows version of this tune...it rocks, and is one of the Shadows all-time best performances !
Gerry and Sylvia Anderson were visionaries, and their "SuperMarionation " shows had better concepts than most live action sci-fi, which they got into with "UFO" and "Space: 1999"...
This song kicks major ASSEtttttttt. Thunderbirds will live forever in my childhood. it was all about rescuing people. Unlike today, programs are just about violence, etc.
Just in case anybody wants the chords to the cute little woodwind/reed interlude (1:19 thru 1:34), they are: F Ebm9 Ab9 Fm7 Bbm7 Ebm7 Ab7b5 Dbmaj7 Db6 Cmaj7 Dm7 Em7 Am7 Dm7 Dm/G Csus4 C7 then back to Gm7sus4 etc
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
D'ya get it then, our kid? You can't save the whole world from itself......particularly as you are not a Gerry Anderson marionette from the 1960s. Give yourself a break and have a feckin' lemonade or something. Luvya, la'!
I liked the series when it first broadcast in CFAC in Calgary in mid-60s. It's too bad, that the technology of the Thunderbirds never became a reality. A lot of past disasters where people could be saved in the aftermath if the real Thunderbirds existed. Of course, it depends if the world politicians can accepted their altruistic motives and let them save people, instead preventing them to do their jobs out of misplaced paranoia.
Great song for the Thunderbirds. I have my Buick Riviera 71 and it looks exactly the same like Thunderbird #2. I watched this t.v. show in Spanish back in the late 60's and 70's. Wow it seems like if it was yesterday. Thank you all for showing the Thunderbirds in different languages. I wish I knew French. I like their language a lot. Greetings from LA, CA. USA. :)
God, this used to be my FAAAVOURITE programme, when I started school I'd sometimes fake being ill just so i could stay at home, I remember it would be on sometime around 11am...

@jason123456789210 You could probably have this play in a Memorial Day parade and everyone would think it sounds so "Patriotic" to the USA because it sounds like it could be a patriotic American song.
Dear EvansRowan123, I like your message a lot. This was my favorite show when i was a boy. i have a classic car "Buick Riviera 71" and it looks exactly the same like Thunderbird #2.
