There is absoluteley no way, how to play the intro riff just alternate picking.

You just don't get the "Thrashy" Sound with doing 0 000 0 000 0 000 0 000 000 000

just Up Down Up Down Up Down.

@spankysteve43 Yes I would recommend it. I have never got a problem with mine and it even outplays several gibsons I have tried over the years. Maybe I have just been really lucky but a RR5 with a good set-up is an awesome guitar.

I use either 10s or 9s. But with a proper set up it could handle the heavier gauge.
