amazing! i was up there in 2007 but i didnt own a kayak until 2008! i'm going back there this summer, any advice on kayaking in open water (not cyprus lake)? i dont really know wheres a good place to launch the kayak without carrying it too far.
East side, Lion's Head beach -- no carrying at all. You can also launch right in the Tobermory harbour. On the west side, there are a lot of roads that end at the water -- you can launch almost anywhere. Watch the weather as the waves can get big and crash on shore, making it difficult to launch and land. I prefer the east side, along the escarpment cliff. Have fun!
Fantastic view of Lion's Head bluff. I used to spend my summers hiking out to the rock on the left (as you go in the shore) to go rock jumping. My favourite place in the world!
We have had pour cottage, hand built outside of Wiarton from 1967,onward.I learned how to respect nature and all of its elements from my young age, until this very moment I write this anecdote for public viewing.
It is a magical haven for thousands of forms of wildlife. Many haunted areas as well as Native Canadians travelled the Bruce thousands of years ago...
