We don't call ourselves Hispanics. We Filipinos love being Asians. Although we are grateful we were Christianized by Spain, we abhor the way they treated our ancestors. Spanish influences in our culture make the Filipino unique from other Asian nations. But we are proud Asians and we don't need to be called Hispanics. We are not hypocrites like you donmiguel 1810. go back to mental hospital don miguel1810. torpe.
@bravo2919 Could you guys at least be asians that speak spanish? It would be beautiful for your majority of people to not deny their history, even if most of it is crucial. Remember that it wasn't only the spaniards who abused the fillipino people.
@bravo2919 not hispanics but you're one with us Latina Union East Timore and Las Islas Filipinas are the only latin in asia as you were the only members of the Latin Union
DonMiguel1810 why are you so hard on the filipinos? I always see your comments everywhere there is a filipino video here showing the rich culture... are you jealouse of how rich the filipino culture is or you are just one of the peoples who thinks they are superior than other... or maybe you are just envious that filipinos are making their way on the top?
donmiguel1810 why are you always commenting on the subjects that are connecting filipinas al hispania? FYI philippines is a member of EL MUNDO HISPANA even though spanish language is not spoken as the lingua franca it is the culture and tradition what it is all about. most of our latino brothers are accepting the fact that Philippines is really a hispanized country... one thing you are living in your past race classification only creates a boundary it seems you are discriminating ASIANOS?

Being Hispanic is just part of our history but I'm glad our country is located in asia not in latin america. We have awesome neighbors..330 yrs with Spain and 30 yrs with the Americans made us unique in asia.
Are you in special classes? Spain is where the word Hispanic comes from, idiot. Hispania was the name of the Iberian peninsula according to the Romans. In turn, it's daughter countries are considered Hispanic.... and the Philippines is considered an Asian country that is confused about much.
Me pone nervisisima leer tus comentarios, tan tan tan erroneos.
Just because a building is built in a Spanish or Latin American style doesn't make it's inhabitants "Hispanic"... There are less than 2% of Filipinos who are part Hispanic.

Also, if you look at, say, a HISTORY BOOK, it tells you that it was ruled from MEXICO CITY.
Mexican Spanish was the spanish mainly used in the islands for the first two hundred or so years until it was administered from Madrid.
At least the Philippines is all the way in Asia. Thank God!

You are WRONG. If you and other Filipinos want to keep thinking that, go ahead... but know it's incorrect.
The Philippines is not considered Hispanic, only influenced by Hispanics... big difference.
