The picture of the crucified Bacchus is from the third century after Jesus, not 500 BCE. Mithras was born from a rock, not a virgin. He went to join the Sun without dying. And so on. The bible never claimed that jesus was born on dec 25...that was a day chosen by the emperor Constantine in order to entice more pagans (who already celebrated their pagan festivals on that day anyway) to convert to christianity. so, the whole three star sequence in the sky on dec 25th is invalid. And, although jesus wasnt born til about 3 bc, prophetic writings foretelling details of his life were available to past civilizations centuries earlier which could explain many of the similarities.

Sorry to put a crimp in your theory, but the Lord Jesus Christ was not born on December 25th, and although the Bible doesn't give any date directly, the consensus among none scholars is early autumn. However, it is possible to work it out as being the 1st day of the Feast of Trumpets which falls in late September or early October - this year I believe it fell on October 3rd.

One can interpret this to be a reference to the sun's rays or its "corona", just as the solar deity Ra is depicted in Egyptian reliefs. Indeed, many artists throughout history have depicted Jesus with a halo that is more like a solar corona. Why do this? Artistic expression or similar thought processes? Who knows! According to 1st Century AD historian Plutarch, 'Horus the child' (or Harpocrates as he was called in Greek) was born around the Winter solstice (which is December 21st to 24th); Isis is indeed referred to as the "Great Virgin" at the temple of Seti 1 at Abydos, dating to 13th century BC; Horus is also depicted with 12 figures in the Book of the Dead many times but I don't consider them to be "disciples". Think it's obvious Horus is a solar deity and for me, Jesus is also a solar deity.

Almost nothing of what this video says about Horus is true. Even wikidpedia will tell you what Horus' real myth was. Krishna was the eighth child of his mother, so she was no virgin. The picture of the crucified Bacchus is from the third century after Jesus, not 500 BCE. Mithras was born from a rock, not a virgin. He went to join the Sun without dying. And so on. The only reason that December 25th is used in the context of this video, is because of Christmas. Which is on December 25th, and is celebrated as the birthday of jesus. Duh people! All I can see in this videos is just a bunch of similarities, that is not suppose to mean that Christianity is false. What if life works on the same line of principles, what if lessons taught are supposed to be the same. A lot of people take God for granted nothing would stand for Centuries and Millenniums if God didn't want it. After all life is a fractal.

The bible never claimed that jesus was born on dec 25...that was a day chosen by the emperor Constantine in order to entice more pagans (who already celebrated their pagan festivals on that day anyway) to convert to christianity. so, the whole three star sequence in the sky on dec 25th is invalid. And, although jesus wasnt born til about 3 bc, prophetic writings foretelling details of his life were available to past civilizations centuries earlier which could explain many of the similarities.

Sorry to put another crimp in your theory but your knowledge of Scripture is at best 2nd hand and elementary - there is no mention anywhere in the Bible of "Three Kings" - that's something you got from school nativity plays. Incidentally, the bible doesn't say Eve ate an apple either, and it specifically states that there were fourteen sheep in the Ark with Noah, not two. Please check what's folk myth and what's Scripture befor slagging it off! Oh and by the way - Bethlehem actually exists...

Secondly, Zeitgeist is also full of nonsense, and ironically is somewhat a conspiracy in itself because I have done my research and half the things he says are unverifiable. @drgstr26 Thanks, but first I believe what I'm saying isn't irrelevant in so far as it refutes two or three of the assersions in this video by introducing awkward things called facts - the guy is making claims that the Bible includes stuff it doesn't, and that's easily verifyable, and that's all I intended to do.
Second, I often hear the Bible is full of contradictions but they're usually misunderstandings and tend to resolve themselves when you look a little deeper - can you give an example?

Sorry to put a crimp in your theory, but the Lord Jesus Christ was not born on December 25th, and although the Bible doesn't give any date directly, the consensus among none scholars is early autumn. However, it is possible to work it out as being the 1st day of the Feast of Trumpets which falls in late September or early October - this year I believe it fell on October 3rd.

@Deen354 The earliest Christians were Jews who were Greek -speaking and Greeks. Jesus was the only perfect Son of God born. I am aware that angels were called the CHILDREN of God. We are not all children of God unless we acknowledge that we are sinners and that Jesus died for our sins and that He is LORD and SAVIOUR.
