  • John Landis holy shit would you please just shut the fuck up this isn't fucking all about you!

  • The music at the end when the credits are rolling. Is that from American Werewolf?

  • this is a genius interview.

  • Great interview. Thanks for the upload! Three directors that truly revolutionized the genre.

  • just consider for a moment how much money they were pulling in collectively at that time. That's a lot of talent and dollars to boot

  • John carpenter wearing chuck's is the cool one...John landis is the quirky awkward one...David Cronenberg is the Intelligent articulate one. Makes me just want to watch the interview with him lol.

  • 6:52: Crew member off screen laughs at Landis' stupid decision.

  • @usernamenancy hahaa I know...well we know who the smart ones were in that interview lmao

  • Carpenter's Bubble thought: "Why is Landis here again?"

  • @0:53...Carpenter is like: "Abso-fuckin-lutely interrupted!"

  • @big9nic Totally!

  • The music at the end, what film is it from?

  • David Cronenberg is the smartest director. Love an intellectual man like that. I would be happy just hearing him speak, forget about the other two.

  • @Tigerlily21 Each one of them is unique, and I'm perfectly happy to listen to their experiences.

  • I think Wes Craven should have been there instead of John Landis.

  • @Deavi783 I think Craven was not known, or not WELL known, at this time.

  • Damn it. Now I want to see the scene John Landis says he cut out of the film. I can't find it, though. Does it exist?

  • This was really great. ty for upping.

  • just stumbled on this interview, very surreal and a very nice find, thanks to uploader...interesting to hear each director's opinions but John Carpenter didn't really say that much!!

  • John Carpenter seems like an arrogant jerk ! I love his "Halloween", though. I would take David Cronenberg when he did this interview (I would fix his hair and get him different glasses). His voice and hands are so sexy.

  • @Karosanyo Carpenter is known to be rather blunt with his responses... he is also very shy in person and dislikes having public interviews. Exceptionally well read and soft spoken though lol.

  • @teethindarkness Exactly. His work speaks for itself.

  • @Karosanyo I think he's a really cool guy, a good filmmaker, and I like the way he interviews. :)

  • CGI has really made special effects so much simpler.Whether you want to believe it or not, there could have never been a quality take on Lord of the Rings until the technology was there to truly bring it to life.it's true, and just, you gotta live with that purists sorry.Jackson himself said it.

  • @SidNightWalker If you don't need CGI, however, then don't use it. That's the problem--everything is computer generated nowadays. Sure, you couldn't make LOTR without CGI, and they utilized it extremely well in those films, but why in the hell does even the simplest effect have to be crafted on a computer screen? It takes a lot of the fun out of monster movies.

  • @CastleRockFan

Never said it didn't.In fact, in the first LOTR they used little people and giants for scale, they knew, when to use what, where. You have a point, it cannot be a crutch.BTW..you a fan of King?

  • @SidNightWalker Indeed I am.

  • @CastleRockFan

Yeah the name kinda, kinda struck me, there, just wondering, heheh.Yeah but special effects, in general, cannot be a crutch, they must be used to let the story unfold, not take the place of the story. But you know that and, good directors know that already.

  • david cronenberg has such a great way with words. john landis needs to tone it down a bit and I really wish john carpenter had spoken more.

  • What the hell are Landis doing there? Carpenter and Cronenberg are superior.

  • This was such a pleasure to watch! Thankyou for uploading!

  • Landis: 'In my next film I will be doing something amazing with a helicopter; nobody will have seen it before'

  • seems like they all kinda cant stand each other, doesnt it?

  • @mommyimadeapoopy Not really, Carpenter visited Landis on the set of Deer Woman when they both were involved with Masters of Horror.

  • Landis is funny, "I can't wait to see it! It's mind boggling!"

  • so was mick garris a interviewer before he became a director?

  • Was he ever a director...? Well he did some movies...

  • miniseries and things like that.

  • @woollybully100 To me Garris will always be a wannabe.

  • @Panorama1981 I just saw the stand and it was pretty good.

  • @Panorama1981

    Total wannabe.
