This song is what came out of Steven's depression. He just spoke at my school about mental health. The bridge he refers to is in Toronto, he watched the net be built under it. He spoke of how it was like a taunt for him to jump before they completed the construction of the net. He's incredible. I wish everyone could hear him speak about what he's survived.
This is probably my favorite song. Wow. These people read my mind; I'm not a drug addict, but we're all seeking escapism in our own little ways: addicts in our own awful ways. Won't it be odd when we can exist without our addictions and don't need anything to be happy? Ah.
@henrymcpoo Agreed. I make people listen to their first 3 albums and some of the most serious songs from Stunt for that reason.
I saw BNL perform this song in '03 the day after Elliott Smith passed away (a favorite musician of Steve's particularly). He just damn near broke down and Ed took over.
It is not dull when we rid ourselves of these demonds- it is called the 4th dimension of existance and it is awesome. Don't buy the hype- get help - get well- help others live life! It's real.

Damn takes me back. I'd take a shot in the dark and say this is their best song as far as I'm concerned.

It's a shame that BNL are only well known for their funnier stuff. It's all excellent, but it means people pass over beautiful things like this...
