I thought the dance was very classy and very beautiful. Just beautiful. I'm assuming Maks choreographed this, and he did a fantastic job. I'm sure Laila's dad was very proud.
i always wishd..whenever i hav kids...i hav girls n im able to train thm in some sort of martial arts....or boxing..to b abl to stand for thmselves in ths world....
besides.....personally i wud prefer/thnk having a tomboyish gurl drssing up for occasions is more practical thn having jst a pretty face whoz a doll all the time!!
You're right, she is a role model but in a strange way, so is "Superhead" believe it or not. She's inspired the "Tell-All Book" movement that's so popular today's black culture. Role models come in different variations, it really boils down to what you get out of it & how it inspires you.
Shame on me, for what? Whether or not if I personally like what "Superhead" stands for, the one thing that can't be denied is the influence she's had on women who write what what I call "expose` novels" on their sexual trysts with celebrities. Although I personally don't like what she stands for, she helped set off that whole movement . I'm just giving credit where its due.
My point exactly, she IS very athletically trained right now but so was her father in his prime, which why I worry about the long-term effects taking too many blows to the head could incur. I'm just thinking ahead instead of in the present, that's all.
Self-defense, yes I'm all for it myself. However, boxing is more of a sport than an act of self-defense. In the ring, the only life threatening situations are when you take too many blows to the head. That could damage you long-term, which I would hate to see happen to Laila. The implication of not hitting a beautiful woman in the face because
of her beauty isn't just regulated to boxing or any kind of male sport, it's just how I feel about any woman in general regardless of how she looks.
I respect your opinion. I however take one look at that beautiful face of hers and cant't bear the thought of it bruised, swollen, & possibly bloodied from all of those punches a boxer has to endure in each match. Plus not to mention the long-term effects it could have on her as a result of all those blows to the head when she advances in age.
Laila/Maks [and Louis/Monique season3] had the most touching and emotional waltzs on DWTS. Maks and Laila had a romantic edge, almost like a wedding dance.
What a beautiful moment with her legendary, iconic father, when she blew a kiss to him during the dance (and the footage of her on his lap as a little kid back when Muhammad was his young, famous-lookin' self was sooo cute and touching)Go Laila for the finals (with Apolo(!) and Joey) :)
This was a tearjerker...beautiful! He couldn't smile because of the Parkinson's, but his eyes said it all. Laila is carrying on her dad's tradition of using creativity/wits/the crowd/interviews/psychology to win in the ring/dancefloor. Certainly the Ali's have ability, but they also put on a great show. Toward that end, I appreciate the theatrics and can't wait for next week.
alex7193, He has Parkinson's disease. It destroys brain cells and he can't even walk by himself. I think he was happy on the inside he just can't control his movements because of the disease. It also causes him to shake alot if you ever pay attention to him.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
That was absolutely beautiful but so sad that her dad didn't have a clue what was going on; his disease (Parkinson's) really robs the soul.
