Neat jail. I am surprized that there were no metal screens between floors. The old Carleton Jail (now a youth hostle) here in Ottawa had to put in screens. Too many guards and inmates back in the day were pushed to their deaths.

I was a tour guide as well off and on during 97-99. I had a lot of instances where either I felt uneasy or I experienced things I couldn't explain. I was locked with a tour in the main cell block once when nobody else could have locked us in because nobody else was downstairs. I had to yell for the owner to open the door because he was upstairs sweeping. Things in the kitchen fell off shelves a few times. The libary door would close by itself all the time even though we would prop it open.

I was here on April 24th of 2010 with a paranormal group that I am no longer associated with. What stays with me about this place was if you walk up to the 2nd floor and make a right than walk towards the gallows as soon as I turned I felt a energy fill my head up with fog and made me dizzy and lightheaded. I couldn't reason with this energy and had to call upon my spirit guide and then within bout 2 minutes it was over.. The Dungeon I got brushed up against twice other than that I was fine..

I worked in the jail for 2 years doing tours. I only had 1 experience that felt "paranormal"... My last tour ever, standing behind a group I had just led into the dungeon, it was as if someone swept my hair with their hand off of my shoulders. I turned around in circles looking for the culprit, and when no one was there, I turned back to the tour. It happened again! I had been in the dungeon turning lights on alone a bunch, but this was the only thing that I ever experienced.

Hi starfoxhero!...yes, the dungeon feels gloomy and oppressive. It is almost as if the emotions of those who once habited the cells floods over you.

Yes, the Dungeon I think is the most eerie coupled with feelings of sadness. Standing inside the cells, I got the feeling of pure isolation and that I wouldn't be able to get out.

the dungeon is so eerie to stand in and the handprint on the wall is just insane.

the gallows is so creepy too.
