See Most of you know Arma was made by Czech devolpers so yeah alot of places are real, Unlike Operation flashpoint Cold war crisis or Dragon rising, the Arma 2 map is a mix of places put together! OFP CWC and Dragon rising are based on real islands

Have you visited Stary Sobor and Nadezdhino IRL? They are such nice places in-game.
