The SC8 is no comparison to this. If you want a really awesome kick ass short course nitro get the SC8! But they also cost more. You get what you pay for.
@TeaBagger5000 Slayer has reverse available. Since all Traxxas did to make the Slayer was shorten the suspension on a Revo, the Revo's gearbox will drop right in. So you simply need to find a Revo tranny with reverse and plop it in.
just bought one hoping to get it to 80mph after gearing it up but i still love my record breaking jato 89.2 mph 2.5 chassis upgraded to 3.3 with tuned pipe geared to hell!
for the love of the nitro gods tune it man wayyy to rich .. as for the tmaxx 3.3 being better yes but only at bashing i have the 3.3 slayer and the 3.3 tmaxx and the slayer will eat the tmaxx alive but my 4.6 ofna ravager eats both the traxxas except for top end then the slayer gets them
yes thats true .. its ok to run it that way if you dont race them on a track but i race my Slayer and my Ofna ravanger so i cant have them running fat ..fat/rich=less power i run my other 2 t-maxx and ofna ultra mbx rich but they are just for bashing and everyday running
i just got one, and its tuned all good, but it goes by itself! the radio is set in the middle, what do i need to adjust on the engine to make it stop going by itself? HELP!
Yep look at the Traxxas tuning video it will tell you about how to tune your idle screw if the car is just jerking forward its the idle screw. However if the just running check your throttle trim. Good luck.
If you think a Slayer is going to compete with a SC8 you are very wrong. An SC8 will destroy a Slayer. A Slayer is just an old Revo 2.5 chassis while a SC8 is a RC8 buggy chassis. No compitition on who would win. Not saying the Slayer is not a good vehicle though.

If you guys think that piece of Traxxas in the video will begin to compete with an SC8, you're sadly mistaken. Do yourselves a favor, don't bet any money on it at least.
Actually the Slayer's now under 400. And you can't really compare the Slayer to the SC8. The Slayer is a 1/10 short course truck with a .20 motor. The SC8 is a 1/8 short course truck built with absolute scale realism in mind, not to mention a .28 engine. Therefore, you can't compare two trucks with different scales and engine sizes, and different designs.
the slayer is just as good as sc8 and half the price of the sc8. I had a trax intro buggy and that thing was built tough. but with all cars there's always upgrades out there even the sc8 is not with out upgrades so there the slayer a better pick and eraser on the wallet
Ive got a Slayer and have it tuned in very nicely....i love this car, though when you are on pavement it ROLLS over so easily....its really made for off road. The EZ start is great and works everytime, this car starts great for me everytime i start it. What i really like about it is that it doesnt wheelie everytime you floor it.....i hate constant wheelies. it just hangs the tires barely above the ground
yeah man uh the ez start i don't like what so ever b/c my electric start burned up after my 2.5r didn't wanna start it burned up the starter so imma go to a 3.3 pull start it better be a pull start or imma not run the thing
yeah i just got mine last night and ran it through the first 2 tanks but stopped on the 4rd b/c the glow plug went bad it sucks i hope it doesn't damage the motor to bad or thats 170 bucks down the drain
Awesome video!. I Have one question. Does it roll a lot. I am considering on buying either this or the t maxx and I don't want an RC that rolls constantly while I am racing
Can anyone that owns one of these PM me to tell me about it. I have never used a nitro car and like this one because it is more "real" than most(no big ugly wheels STICKING OUT so far, this looks like it could be a real truck).
did you have to adjust the transmission to shift like that or have you not touched it becuase my t-maxx 2.5 doesn't shift like that even after i adjusted it the transmission, thinking of getting slayer for x-mas
thanks for the video u just confirmed my decision i got the slash brushless it got great performance but him missing the sound and smell of the nitro planning to buy a slayer for next summer i got the brushless because i lived in town and people can be pain in the ass with nitro i almost got 300$ tiket for playing with one off my nitro in the park so i sold everything for buying a brushless and i miss nitro so bad by the way sorry for my english
so you paid 470 for yours awesome it seems like it's a waste though but i don't think so but you prolly got to much fuel on the intake cuz it drowns out then sounds idk i think it's the camera that is doing that but the camera person was all over the place dude wow but still goood video keep them coming!
lol ya I should right now in my garage I have 5 RC`s a bunch of extra parts 1 0r two extra brushed motors 1 esc and like 4 brand new never open servos 1 clutch, 2 or three spur gears for the Jato, two bell gears I think we have 4 pinion gears a new set of Nito Sport tranny geras at least 26 tires the list goes on and on.
i know what you mean two savages one tornado one tt eb4 one firestorm with a mamba my place looks like a garage something always needs work thak god i can do most of it myself alot of guys break em and just take it to the shop. i cant afford that so i try and fix em myself the cost of parts still hurts though. funny i thought this was a hobby its TAKING OVER MY LIFE :)
is it just me or is that thing really quick off the line? nice truck and video......i need to get one of these. i love my slash but i think i now want a slayer....lol
