The sport has tons of diving and players faking injuries, rolling around on the ground like they have been shot then get up like nothing happened 10sec later. Its the easiest sport to pick up, very cheap a field, ball, 2 goals and players and coach is all you need, dont really need to weight train, just able to run for 80 min. 0-0 score after 80min? WOW

I saw a docoumentry on why basketball has started to spread years ago and they gave that exact reason why, because all you need is a ball and basketball. Shaq played his position well, a force underneath the basket, but he could play, sucked at FTs but could play the game, not just that he was tall. Hakeem olajuwan is a great example, but he also had a soccer background so I believe that helped.

See, in my country, Holland, you don't have a vote really. Like, 80 percent of all sportsmen are soccer players. I used to play basketball in a club, and got hated on badly. I remember being the only person out of a collective 15 guys at school during recess that was a basketball player. ALL of them, and nearly 90 percent of the rest of the school is pro soccer. I just think it's unfair for other sports like rugby, baseball, basketball, tennis that they don't get as much hype as soccer...

The one big knock I have on soccer is that the team that plays worse can win the game. In basketball, there are upsets, but the underdog almost always outplays the favorite in order to win.
