To be honest, that chair shot wasn't that bad. Homicide let the chair go before he actually made contact which took a LOT of the brunt off of the impact. It wasn't nearly as bad as those shots from the late 90s like Masato Tanaka took.
People are getting up in arms over this, and rightfully so in a lot of ways, but yet stuff that goes on in the indy scene is 100 times worse. I'm just waiting for dozens of indy guys to come down with lung cancer from years of light tube matches.

Maybe the suicide dive spot at the Rumble 2001 might count, but it looked like he covered with his arms even there. If anything, Benoit's nightly diving headbutts probably did far more damage to his brain than chairs did. I do agree that unprotected chair shots to the head should be eliminated or reduced, but to get that angry over one to me is overkill.

To be honest, that chair shot wasn't that bad. Homicide let the chair go before he actually made contact which took a LOT of the brunt off of the impact. It wasn't nearly as bad as those shots from the late 90s like Masato Tanaka took.
People are getting up in arms over this, and rightfully so in a lot of ways, but yet stuff that goes on in the indy scene is 100 times worse. I'm just waiting for dozens of indy guys to come down with lung cancer from years of light tube matches.

@RSXemperor Benoit was a special case though, and really I don't remember Benoit taking any unprotected chair shots to the head. Maybe the suicide dive spot at the Rumble 2001 might count, but it looked like he covered with his arms even there. If anything, Benoit's nightly diving headbutts probably did far more damage to his brain than chairs did. I do agree that unprotected chair shots to the head should be eliminated or reduced, but to get that angry over one to me is overkill.

WWE no longer does brain damage chair shots. When the science came out they changed. TNA allowed it. They didn't have to but they did because they don't care about their performers health. Even if Terry volunteered like a retard they didn't have to ok it to happen.

I have given you examples of brain damaged wrestlers who have killed themselves. Chris Kanyon. Chris Benoit had the brain of an 80 year old man with Alzheimers. It is no different than pro football players who have had the same issue. Brain damage causes depesssion. Chris Kanyon was so depressed he killed himself the week before TNA did this.

They don't criticize WWE for brain damage chair shots because they got rid of them when science showed what they did to workers. TNA didn't because they don't care.
