@Emu1gmx Alot of people will have solar panels or wind turbines already at mind, i don't think there going to buy a ev just so coal and gas power plants would use more resources? People are even putting solar panels on there garage roofs just to charge there ev's :) Batteries can be recylce and used.
@MrTpengineer Still Ur whole roof wouldnt have enough square feet for to run your car 200 miles a day and thats what we need.
dont get me wrong im pro electric cars but jumping the gun could end in it beeing thrown over board for something like the hydrogen car. my way would be:
solve the problem of produceing mass energie and then we can start building stuff that uses that energy..
@yTubeBlowsBigBalls Well there the best we can do for now, I hear of a battery being developed that has "nano cells" and is suppost to be way more eficient that lithium ion batteries, the downside is there going to be way more expensive :(
Battery Tech is currently advanced enough to provide enough energy for daily commuting. How often does an average person really go further than 100 miles in a day. According to the DOT not many. Society will have to adapt its thinking. Renting a car for those times to visit grandma and an electric daily commuter is a more efficient means of transportation.
@ELDONGB1 oh yeah i knew it couldnt be 300 , i know the range is normally about 40 miles on a charge for electrics , maybe more with a pre bought lion electric, though i thought that nimh were much better i dont why the big companies use lion and not nimh, it have to do with cost ,cause it hough that nimh were a better battery ,
@bulletproof2353 It doesn't say 300 mile range, pay attention and you hear them explain that 300 miles is how far he goes per month for $7. That's only doable if you work and shop 20 miles from home and have 7 hours in between coming and going to charge. If he spend a few thousand a year on li-ion batteries like some do on car payments, he could maybe get 100+ mile range - eventually.
watching this give me ideas to build something like that. I absoutly love my v8 pickup and it doesn't get maybe 15mpg, but just to know that this electric motor technology is out there is awesome.
yes THE ELECTRICITY COMES FROM COAL. IT'S STILL USING FOSSIL FUELS. but electric motor efficiency is 4 to 5 times more efficient than diesel engines that is the fuel cost reduction view !
somebody please tell me why I havnt seen anyone else use a direct drive with electric motors. everyone alwayz couple the electric motor with a manual transmission. but seems like it would be most efficient with a direct connection to the wheels.
3 hours for 20 miles, not bad for a home built system, far from plausible for real world applications though. I think he would do better with out using the stock transmission.
i am not a electrical person but maybe putting a magnet alternator will charge the battries as you drive or dont drive. look for magnet motors on u tube
Most of these guys are using DC motors, and acid lead batteries. The next electric conversuib kits will use 3-phase AC induction motors with copper rotors, and lithium polymer systems, if they can find a way to equalize the highly sentitive li-po batteries.
Some day if I build my own...I'll have a solar rig to charge the battery pack on good days and plug it in when it isn't.
Electrics will only have mass market appeal when they can generate their own power...some sort of liquid fuel powering a fuell cell is what I see coming; that'll be around some time in the next ten years, I believe. Battery electrics will still have their place too! =D

pic of a 60`s VW on here with a big electric motor in it,sitting in a barn........not the newest pic I just saw of a newer 70s VW........old one had like 10 car batteries under the hood.
@SuperAngelwalker The average electric car does less than 100 miles to the charge, there is no fossile burner that does less than that on a tank of gas and re-filling the tank doesn't take 8 hours. I have an electric car so don't get me wrong about the benefits but you need to be real about the downsides too and accept their current limitations, they are not yet a full replacement for an ICE just a very good supplement for short journeys.
Actually my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee I averaged 387 miles per tank of gas. I usually averaged around 22-23mpg on the highway and around 16-18mpg in town.
I wouldn't mind having an electric car for running around town in but can't afford one.
I average 27mpg in town without turning it off, turning it off and back on again is far more damaging to the engine than leaving it running. Thats like turning on your curling iron until its luke warm then turning it back off and expecting it to work right. These myths have never been proven true, but hey its your car do what you want to it.
@wildbill23c the engines of today dont really have to worry about that. In fact a warm startup is much better for the engine than a cold startup. Now there are cars that turn off at every stoplight but they are designed to constant start/stop
@SuperAngelwalker My Bronco II actually gets 320 miles to a tank (20 gallon tank though). Used to get up to 400 miles to a tank but its in desperate need of a tune-up.
hi. can you give some details on the motor's specifications such as voltage, rpm and other technical details since i am very interested in your work. what type of speed controller you used and how many batteries you use to operate the system. THANKS
Unlimited energy sources are out there! But the big oil corporations don't want that technology revealed,Get a motor that needs no gas or electric input at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Start the energy revolution!
Hybrid vehicles are not much better at this point. they cost more money to buy and maintain. Free energy can change the world! But a few ppl make too many billions from our energy needs to let this technology be known,Go to LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM and get the blueprints for a genuine magnet motor ,Join the energy revolution!
wait, ok in the video the dude says 300 miles on a single charge, then the woman says, 20 miles on a charge did I miss something? lol and how fucking sad is it that some guy on his off time can build this for a few thousand, but it costs millions even billions for a car company to do the same thing?
it doesnt matter if it runs with electricity, because 80% of our electricity is produced out of oil and coal.... if we produce clean electricity, we can use electric cars: clean!
@DNHshuffle coal is much more efficient then petrol, and its much easier to move electricity down a wire then it is to move oil to the petrol station. It is cleaner but not 100% green
I'M FROM EUROPE, ITALY, Here the situation is WORSE, WE CAN NOT BUILD EVEN AN ELECTRIC BIKE: IT MUST HAVE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSISTED AND GO MAX. SPEED 25 KM/H (15,5 M/H) OTHER IS ILLEGAL..HERE ARE CHANGING THE GOVERNMENTS ONLY... NOTHING MORE!

So... This dude killed a DSM and built an electric car... If it was a 1.8 liter DSM, then no big deal, but if it was an NA 4G63 or a turbo 4G63 I hope this dude burns in hell.
@Timothayyy Hell yeah, can only be happy he didn't rice it man... Still a shame. I go to junk yards with DSMs in them and pick out all sorts of good shit. Perfectly good engines, ect.
u cant drive this car on the by pass or the motor way u will get pulled over by the police for driving too slow and with cheep fuel prices like that anyway u want to try living in britain.!
@SHOOTER0072003 nope, hes not in any danger, because no one but he has the gump to do this, they average man is satisfied with the status quo, or is just to lazy or dumb, to try it. he just supplied some cheap entertaiment for a few seconds on the news. thats it , thats all.
i may appreaceate he did what he did, and wish others would, it would mean cheaper gas for me, by the way i have 2 toyota tercels in my yard ready to convert when the time is right.
there you go hes on tv and probably killed FUCKING STUPID GREEDY PEOPLE INSTEAD OF SHARING THERE sharing there technologies and inmpimenting quietly they start running to news channel and get killed
@timetraveler3797 well i suppose all he has to do is double up the lead acid batteries and he is done. why do you think he stopped at twenty miles? think, think, .......... he didnt need to.
This will be my last comment on this video and its already one comment to many. They called that NA eagle talon a gas guzzler.....its a damn 4 cylinder..its far from a gas guzzler.
god bless him! IF THE DAMN OIL COMPANIES AND THE PUSSY CAR MAKERS CANT COMMIT TO ELECTRIC, THEN ITS TIME FOR AMERICANS TO TAKE IT INTO THEIR OWN HANDS! sorry i get carried away watching us die from 20th century thinking!
@zrac09 I totally agree with you on this quote"god bless him! IF THE DAMN OIL COMPANIES AND THE PUSSY CAR MAKERS CANT COMMIT TO ELECTRIC, THEN ITS TIME FOR AMERICANS TO TAKE IT INTO THEIR OWN HANDS!"
I am an American and have a 4 cylinder eagle talon...the catch is its turbo charged. I would drive a v8 til the end of the world though...i dont give a shit and also, I dont think cars cause global warming. So people can kiss my ass with there opinions on what i should be driving.
@tsohmas americans don't like to drive go-carts on the interstate. They're cute in the cities but they don't cut it in suburbs. Europeans don't drive long distances to go shopping or visit their grandparents.
Nothing against little bitty cars... they're just not practical in America.
@beenn15 So ....What are you saying? That Americans like to ride around on their thrones (large cars) so that they feel 'special'? Yeah, I guess you are right. How many men do you see riding in a Yugo?
@beenn15 they are sometimes, but most people cant afford both a small city car, and a larger car for long trips... so the larger car usually gets the nod... hard to take the family to grandmas house in a smart car :P
@tsohmas they have lower safety standards so their cars can be lighter... i say that every car sold should have a tag to say how safe/unsafe it is and let the consumer decide how much they want to pay.
also for some fin reason their are no small diesel cars in north america other then vw.... a diesel in a small car gives a HUGE fuel mileage increase... even 1 ton diesel trucks can get over 25... its pure bs
The gas guzzler? Talons are 4 cylinders and can get nearly 30 MPG dipshits. Its not a fuckin gas guzzler, leave it up to these green dumbasses and the media to fuck with peoples minds by bending the truth.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Yeah....And an electric engine is a time guzzler, uncool, weak and overall not worth the time. ICE are better in my opinion, I dont cry about global warming cause i dont think cars are the cause.
No...I'll just think impractical and time consuming. i already know about the electric race cars they attempt to interest people in at the tracks. They have to charge those every 2 or 3 runs, and they have like 12 batteries in them.
Yeah the guys from topgear did a bit on tesla and they sucked. 50 miles to the charge and 6-8 hours per charge. Not to mention the cars broke under the stress and ended that part of the show. Electric cars are shit piles for tree huggers.
Thats because you are all tree huggers..the only reason i found this video is because he used a DSM eagle talon and i am a fan of DSM. So you and everyone else that dont agree can kiss my ass. Its also common knowledge that the electric car idea is failing bigtime. So say what you want but this technology isnt the answer like you all think it is.
whats wrong with being a tree hugger. the only reason for your little dumbass exsistance is because of THIS environment.
we all know what you think about the electric car.
and if electric is not the answer, what is?
oh yea and electricity is all around us, even in the new engines they have out now. you hear about em? they'er called HYBRIDS. they're HALF gas and HALF electric. and at the rate technology is accelerating. how long do ya think it'll be until all cars are FULL electric.?
Well there pal.... hybrids are failing as well. You are obviously not up to date with your info. Check out the latest studies on hybrid cars and you may know what i am talking about. They have failed to produce any real environmental benefits and in fact most fail emissions tests just as bad as the petrol cars. You want to know the real solution? Horses. you want to know the problem? Impatient lazy assholes. horses emit grass and urin thats about it. People just dont like that idea.
As long as we still have to live in citys and drive on paved roads...im not gonna worry about the environment. Because from the looks of it the people that run the country could give two shits less. this world is all about that new product and that new buyer. Even your little electric/hybrid cars are no more than fad pieces. They're made for all the people that get scared over global warming and someones guess at what causes it.
And, before anyone starts telling me livestock farts and the mathane will ruin our world...I ay bullshit. If that were the case the world would be long gone by now...beasts and humans alike have been blowing ass for years and will continue to do so...so if greenhouse gasses are the problem then kiss your ass goodbye. I wonder what caused the wierd weather back in the day.....must have been dinosaurs farting...we should have taxed them...damn extinction.
I didnt say i wanted horses to replace cars...I just said that its the true answer to the problem. But the people are spoiled and unwilling to give up the things that cause the problems. I for one like nature and wildlife but if im going on four wheels im going in a gas powered machine period. Or in otherwords unless they switch to horses i dont want some weak nerds replacement for my car. Mankind is a cancer to the world and the treatments not working....I'll keep my gas car til i die.
No matter what power plant you use..you are still on rubber wheels in which pollution is emitted just to create. And when they go bad? Well, most of them end up in land fills or in a ditch where lazy people that could care less dump them. Also come down south and take a look at the paper mills which spew thick clouds of awful smelling smoke 24/7. West monroe Louisiana smells like a fart and im not joking. Bottom line is industry is ruining the world and few followed fads will not change that.
I dont need to tell the future...if you would read what i have said and actually done some research you would know by now that they are already failing. And the fact hardly anyone buys them hurts the car companys that make them. They are failing as we speak. I dont need to tell the future to tell you that. and THEY....can kiss my ass. Last i checked the people were the majority.
sooo you define your life through the horsepower of your car, you label people as "treehuggers" if they are interested in electric motion and you don't give a shit about the enviroment you live in? you sir are an ignorant consumerist who only feels good about something he has unless he pays big for it. stop pretending that you know everything because you clearly DON'T. you are just making a fool out of yourself
I bet you drive a golf kart then right? Yes horsepower is something all guys except for nerds have an interest in. If you like believing the global warming bullshit than you go right ahead. I already stated where I stand and you coming in making late comments on the subject isnt going to change that. Im done with this shit topic, in fact i was done months ago so.
hey i'm not the one building spacecrafts out of computer parts in my back yard. if anything you are the nerd. besides i am not THAT insecure to need a car to feel better about myself. I don't wan't an ev because of global warming. I like them because they are quiet, more reliable and less likely to break down. besides i was always more the electronical type rather than mechanical
@cyberlord64 i dont give a rats ass about the enviornment but 20 years ago i said my next new car will be electric and i fucking ment it. i dont have an attached garage because i dont want to live with a stinking leaking gas engine, the beast can sleep outside in the cold. and so can an electric.
Rev. Gadget had a car that would go 250 miles between charges and that was in '07. Said he was working on one that would go 500 miles, at 70mph.

we had the Geo metro which was 50mpg in the 90's. they have raised our emissions standards which means we are now at 35 and not 50.
What does all this mean? Means that we are using more gasoline.
more vapor release from the gas pumps because we are using more fuel.
more oil needed. means we could have another rig explosion.
means more oil in the water. lastly more exhaust in the air.

People are so stupid! Is it an electric vehicle....What does the bumper say??? Duh!!
UpcomingJedi 1 year ago
wait, ok in the video the dude says 300 miles on a single charge, then the woman says, 20 miles on a charge did I miss something? lol and how fucking sad is it that some guy on his off time can build this for a few thousand, but it costs millions even billions for a car company to do the same thing?
zeppelin67637 1 year ago
@zeppelin67637 down with companys! we all need more this type guys!
deinielCOBOS 1 year ago
Only 20 miles on a charge, but only $4K. I guess you would need to double the batteries for a 40 mile commute?
pinkyzoey 1 year ago
it doesnt matter if it runs with electricity, because 80% of our electricity is produced out of oil and coal.... if we produce clean electricity, we can use electric cars: clean!
DNHshuffle 1 year ago
@DNHshuffle coal is much more efficient then petrol, and its much easier to move electricity down a wire then it is to move oil to the petrol station. It is cleaner but not 100% green

So... This dude killed a DSM and built an electric car... If it was a 1.8 liter DSM, then no big deal, but if it was an NA 4G63 or a turbo 4G63 I hope this dude burns in hell.

@Londil It says he bought it from a junk yard..... so it was either gonna be picked apart or scrapped.
Just be glad its still on the news and its not all riced out.

@Timothayyy Hell yeah, can only be happy he didn't rice it man... Still a shame. I go to junk yards with DSMs in them and pick out all sorts of good shit. Perfectly good engines, ect.

i may appreaceate he did what he did, and wish others would, it would mean cheaper gas for me, by the way i have 2 toyota tercels in my yard ready to convert when the time is right.

Many European cars can get 50mpg so 30 is a guzler by comparison.
0ddba11s 2 years ago 2
many european cars are drab, boring piles of low horse power shit.
Master7770 2 years ago
Like a 2009 Porsche 911 that you can get 35 MPG with if driven right.
0ddba11s 2 years ago 2
That's funny because we've all been getting to work in them for years.
DeltaNC 2 years ago 3
yea?
then why does america follow so closely to european car ideas??
they got cars over there with 70 mpg.
and america brags about 30.

Cause Americans can't suffer the "Indignity" of using small cars (Or diesels, for that matter.)
nightmathzombieethan 2 years ago
I am an American and have a 4 cylinder eagle talon...the catch is its turbo charged. I would drive a v8 til the end of the world though...i dont give a shit and also, I dont think cars cause global warming. So people can kiss my ass with there opinions on what i should be driving.
Master7770 2 years ago
@tsohmas americans don't like to drive go-carts on the interstate. They're cute in the cities but they don't cut it in suburbs. Europeans don't drive long distances to go shopping or visit their grandparents.
Nothing against little bitty cars... they're just not practical in America.
beenn15 1 year ago
@beenn15 So ....What are you saying? That Americans like to ride around on their thrones (large cars) so that they feel 'special'? Yeah, I guess you are right. How many men do you see riding in a Yugo?
UpcomingJedi 1 year ago
@beenn15 they are sometimes, but most people cant afford both a small city car, and a larger car for long trips... so the larger car usually gets the nod... hard to take the family to grandmas house in a smart car :P
mageac 1 year ago

Master7770 2 years ago
An internal combustion engine is a gas guzzler in comparison to an electric.

Yeah....And an electric engine is a time guzzler, uncool, weak and overall not worth the time. ICE are better in my opinion, I dont cry about global warming cause i dont think cars are the cause.
Master7770 2 years ago
type in the words WHITE ZOMBIE ELECTRIC CAR
and you'll rethink the weak remark
sgtpepper1138 2 years ago 2
No...I'll just think impractical and time consuming. i already know about the electric race cars they attempt to interest people in at the tracks. They have to charge those every 2 or 3 runs, and they have like 12 batteries in them.
Master7770 2 years ago
what is time consuming?
sgtpepper1138 2 years ago
Charging them is time consuming. Either way i would never willingly give up a ICE for en electric. Screw global warming.
Master7770 2 years ago
He seems to think you have to watch them while they charge.
Have you ever heard of the Tesla Roadster and Model S?
What about the Honda Clarity?
DeltaNC 2 years ago 2
Yeah the guys from topgear did a bit on tesla and they sucked. 50 miles to the charge and 6-8 hours per charge. Not to mention the cars broke under the stress and ended that part of the show. Electric cars are shit piles for tree huggers.

tsohmas 2 years ago
well cars help global warming, cant argue with that now can ya
tsohmas 2 years ago
And the only reason you know this is because someone told you it did.
Master7770 2 years ago
nobody needs to tell me anything. its fucking common sense to see that cars pollute.
youve got like 15 comments on this video. every single one of them is annoying shallow. and not one person agrees with you.
tsohmas 2 years ago
Thats because you are all tree huggers..the only reason i found this video is because he used a DSM eagle talon and i am a fan of DSM. So you and everyone else that dont agree can kiss my ass. Its also common knowledge that the electric car idea is failing bigtime. So say what you want but this technology isnt the answer like you all think it is.
Master7770 2 years ago
whats wrong with being a tree hugger. the only reason for your little dumbass exsistance is because of THIS environment.
we all know what you think about the electric car.
and if electric is not the answer, what is?
oh yea and electricity is all around us, even in the new engines they have out now. you hear about em? they'er called HYBRIDS. they're HALF gas and HALF electric. and at the rate technology is accelerating. how long do ya think it'll be until all cars are FULL electric.?
tsohmas 2 years ago
Well there pal.... hybrids are failing as well. You are obviously not up to date with your info. Check out the latest studies on hybrid cars and you may know what i am talking about. They have failed to produce any real environmental benefits and in fact most fail emissions tests just as bad as the petrol cars. You want to know the real solution? Horses. you want to know the problem? Impatient lazy assholes. horses emit grass and urin thats about it. People just dont like that idea.
Master7770 2 years ago
As long as we still have to live in citys and drive on paved roads...im not gonna worry about the environment. Because from the looks of it the people that run the country could give two shits less. this world is all about that new product and that new buyer. Even your little electric/hybrid cars are no more than fad pieces. They're made for all the people that get scared over global warming and someones guess at what causes it.
Master7770 2 years ago
And, before anyone starts telling me livestock farts and the mathane will ruin our world...I ay bullshit. If that were the case the world would be long gone by now...beasts and humans alike have been blowing ass for years and will continue to do so...so if greenhouse gasses are the problem then kiss your ass goodbye. I wonder what caused the wierd weather back in the day.....must have been dinosaurs farting...we should have taxed them...damn extinction.
Master7770 2 years ago
alright well i do agree with you to some point. i very much agree with what you said about everyone being an impatient assholes.
but why do you want horses to replace cars? i thought you didnt give a fuck about the environment
tsohmas 2 years ago
I didnt say i wanted horses to replace cars...I just said that its the true answer to the problem. But the people are spoiled and unwilling to give up the things that cause the problems. I for one like nature and wildlife but if im going on four wheels im going in a gas powered machine period. Or in otherwords unless they switch to horses i dont want some weak nerds replacement for my car. Mankind is a cancer to the world and the treatments not working....I'll keep my gas car til i die.
Master7770 2 years ago
No matter what power plant you use..you are still on rubber wheels in which pollution is emitted just to create. And when they go bad? Well, most of them end up in land fills or in a ditch where lazy people that could care less dump them. Also come down south and take a look at the paper mills which spew thick clouds of awful smelling smoke 24/7. West monroe Louisiana smells like a fart and im not joking. Bottom line is industry is ruining the world and few followed fads will not change that.
Master7770 2 years ago
i think its impossible to reason with you.
you cant tell the future. you dont know if electric cars wont work. keep your gas powered car. if they let you....
tsohmas 2 years ago
I dont need to tell the future...if you would read what i have said and actually done some research you would know by now that they are already failing. And the fact hardly anyone buys them hurts the car companys that make them. They are failing as we speak. I dont need to tell the future to tell you that. and THEY....can kiss my ass. Last i checked the people were the majority.
Master7770 2 years ago
im not gonna do any research on anything youve said cause your out of your mind

sooo you define your life through the horsepower of your car, you label people as "treehuggers" if they are interested in electric motion and you don't give a shit about the enviroment you live in? you sir are an ignorant consumerist who only feels good about something he has unless he pays big for it. stop pretending that you know everything because you clearly DON'T. you are just making a fool out of yourself
cyberlord64 2 years ago
I bet you drive a golf kart then right? Yes horsepower is something all guys except for nerds have an interest in. If you like believing the global warming bullshit than you go right ahead. I already stated where I stand and you coming in making late comments on the subject isnt going to change that. Im done with this shit topic, in fact i was done months ago so.
Master7770 2 years ago
hey i'm not the one building spacecrafts out of computer parts in my back yard. if anything you are the nerd. besides i am not THAT insecure to need a car to feel better about myself.
