I am using an IDE DVD Burner cuz at the moment i haven't got enought money to buy a new Sata Blu Ray Burner (not neccessary at the moment). I am soooooo happy that this great Board has IDE! And I think that it is not a big Problem, that the Sata connectors doesn't face sideways, because I use sleaved Sata 3 cables and they look cool so I don't need to hide them :P

Pleeeasee i need help!, i have this mobo and i can´t get onboard audio when i put the hd6870 card, i even disable the hdmi out from audio properties and ensure enable on board sound from bios, the onboard audio drivers are perfect. Even if i put another video car (with no audio itself) the onboard audio works perfectly. Does anybody know why this happend?? I´m sorry for my poor english!!

@LaggyDie Hi Yes you can crossfire your graphics cards with this mobo providing your PSU is powerfull enough....I would suggest getting a PSU that runs at 700w or over...Hope that helps.....B4 you ask it it fundamental here (same person just a different nickname) Ive had this mobo running in my rig for a while now with no problems so I still highly recommend getting this mobo :-)

i have an AMD phenom II x4 955 black edition 3.2 GHz, 8m cache and a Nvidia 9500 GT graphics card, my motherboard is ASROCK K10N78M motherboard....

when i play new games it laggs and is jaggerdy....i think its due to my poor quality motherboard....im thinking of upgrading to this....would this be the right thing to do and if so will it stop the lagg/jaggerdy effect in games?

@S3RB4LIF3 ITs bottleneck, the 9500gt is a very poor video card when it comes to gaming, also when you pair it up with a cpu like that you get a bottleneck. Update your video card.

@TheNewbpowner123 The ATI 4290 does work very well, especially for an onboard video card. You're not going to be running in max resolution by any means, but COD:BO runs very smooth in lower settings. Directx 11 capabilities (although somewhat limited).

The M4A89TD PRO does not have USB3.0 ports.

The Blue ports are just plain USB2

@khmaiboilove You have to go by average rating. A lot of stuff on newegg can come DOA or defective, which is what the RMA is for. If you look at almost EVERY review of EVERY product, SOMEBODY is going to have a one egg review saying "Crap, DOA, defective, better one out there, etc." I think it looks like a good mobo. I'm ordering it tomorrow, in fact. ;)

The best main board Asus had was the M4A77TD PRO. It still performes better in ACHI Sata 6gbs using the Phenom II 6 core. Compaired to this, it's whip ass. Asus turned guade junk and performance is not the issue.  Love the seperate raid channels in bios on the M4A77TD PRO that they skimped on theM4A89TD board seen here. ASUS HAS ONE GOOD BOARD.

@VictorVladutz In theory, a 6 core unlock is possible. However, you would require a Thuban-based quadcore. AMD does have one, but you can't get in retail stores, I think they're selling them to OEM's only. The standard 965 Black Editions and such will not unlock, as they don't have cores disabled.

What's the deal with optical audio out? I've seen them around for forever, but never even heard of anyone using them. Are they better quality for audio? Surround sound receivers are typically worlds better than the highest end "LOL MEGA GAMER PWN EDITIONLOLOLEXTREME" computer speaker systems.
