When the 2004 presidentail election was underway the media was behind this man like he was some kind of "war hero". When the 2004 presidentail election was underway the media was behind this man like he was some kind of "war hero". That he stood up for the moral injustices of the war, whilst Bush got off by serving as a "weekend warrior". That he was the man for the job because he knew about the horrors of fighting an illegal and unjust war. Yet when another Vietnam vet was running for president in 2008 the media had changed it tune, because that vet was a Republican and believes the Iraq war isn't unjust.

Seems to me what was unjust was the fact that the UN didn't enforce their Resolutions, especially the numerous one's violated by Saddam for over twelve years up to and including Resolution 1441 which clearly stated abide by the international law or "face serious consequences."

@SCE2AUX the Security Council had to rule on a "material breach" or give specific authorization before any invasion could take place. Only 4 nations voted in favor of the resolution. There was no backing by the UN to go in. Therefore the country actually breaking the cease-fire it could be argued was the United states along with Great Britian.

They are war criminals. Recently some tapes came out in which Henry Kissinger transmits the command to bomb Cambodia saying "anything that flies on everything that moves". If that isn't a call for genocide I don't know what is. There have according to official figures been 2 million death in Vietnam(real figures are probably at about 4 million). I'm quite sure you called it a war crime when the Russians invaded Afghanistan, if we apply the same principles here, we come to the same conclusion.

Yea except during World War 2 we were actually occupied by someone. In Vietnam on the contrary they were only killing Vietnamese since there was nobody else there. Tthe US didn't invade South-Vietnam because the North-Vietnamese invaded. They attacked South-Vietnam cause the Vietnamese population were resisting the militairy regime the US imposed in Vietnam. Senator Kerry made himself the hero in every after-action report he wrote, commited what amount to war crimes, and betrayed his fellow servicemen on several occasions.
President Bush got into the Air National Guard (like most rich boys of the era to avoid being drafted), and didn't even bother to show up, to the point where nobody really remembers him being there.

Kerry served in combat, he was wounded, he saw valor and crime, and he stood up against it. There was no parade waiting for a man who would do that. Takes guts, seems to me.

You were not there how do you know you sound more like a political hack. I have more respect for my fellow vets than to question anyones service. You do not have to like or agree with anyone but you have not earnd the right to diminish anyones service.

Swift boat duty was voluntary and dangerous. I would say it takes a pair to ask for such duty. He did get a silver star for pulling a man out of the water while under fire.

The man that fell out of Kerry's boat did so because Kerry's boat drove away when a mine was hit by another boat. Kerry's boat then turned around and picked up the guy in the water just as another boat was about 40 yrds from the man in the water. There was no enemy fire and the three bullet holes in one of the boats came from an incident from the day before. Kerry is a fake, a liar and a coward.

What would I know of courage? How about running into a burning building or climbing a 328 foot ladder to save someone. How's that for courage? I've had a mans skin fall of in my arms and seen people jump from building on fire only to hit the ground. Yet I still go back. I know courage.
I am 18 but I cant serve in the military because I am an IDD if you dont know what that is its an Insulin Dependant Diabetic. I have Type 1 Diabetes, thats when my body attacks my own pancreas, its genetic.

I'm glad that you questioned it, but its true. Have you ever heard of an auditorium raise, thats a big fucking ladder. Yes I'm a diabetic but with a cylinder of air that, at best, allows for 30 min of work time I don't really have the time to have a low blood sugar, that would be the main problem. You can call it bullshit if you want, thats fine. I dont have to try and defend myself against someone I dont even know.I know what I have seen and done and it doesnt really matter to me what you say.

The only Democrat I know personally that was for the Iraq war is in the Army. Also, I see a lot of our young poor signing up. Most of them are from traditional Democratic families.
