Mr. Rogers is one of those people you truly wish could have lived forever, but I guess that's in our hands now. The beautiful thing is that even though some of these episodes are pushing 30 to 50 years old, almost all of the lessons he taught can still be used today. Timeless. I just hope that by the time I have children, they'll have more of these shows on DVD so I can pass them down. Two DVDs with two episodes each just isn't enough.
I'm openly atheistic, and I am aware that Fred Rogers was a presbyterian minister, but that does not make me look down on him at all. In fact, he was, quite possibly, the greatest role model for my life. He is truly a hero, and I will never forget him. I cried for him as much as I did for my own great grandmother when he died.
I still remember the day when I heard Mister Rogers passed away. I was actually quite confused because Mister Rogers Neighborhood was before the news. And I watched an episode and the news then said Mister Rogers passed away. I didn't understand the way the tv worked back then. So i was confused how he died in merely seconds. But Mister Rogers brought alot to my childhood. Things I won't forget
I remembered watching this show when I was younger, my dad told me about watching to one in the late 60s, though he mentioned Mr.Dressup as well. The passing of him is a loss to the world. May God bless his soul.
i remember watching him when i was a kid in the 90's he taught me alot when i was a kid. when i heard he passed away is was one of the saddess days of my life. his show was truley a one of a kind show. no other kid show could do what he did
@lostbear09 Mine too. I loved him through the late 80's - 90's; and was so devastated the morning he died. Nice to know someone around my generation felt the same. How true: no other kid show ever taught as much and was as powerful as what he did for 30 + years.
i know alot of you are sad now that he is gone :( and it is a sad matter because he was a wonderful man :) he wouldnt want us to sad we would want us to be happy and make a snappy new day haha :D
@Drewit1 sad thing is all were giving him back is shit like degrassi and hanna montana andi carly WTF i want mr rogeers back god damnit i eman am i right or am i right.. i think im right
Awh, I remember watching him as a kid in the 90's. It was such a cool little show, reminded me to be nice to others. We need more people like him. RIP Mister Rogers <3
The sad part is watching him get older.... knowing that time has gone by quickly, that hes passed away... no one in the world will be as inspiring as him.
Man I used to watch this when I was so young I barely even remember it, but my mom said I used to love it so god bless mr Rogers, I'm not gonna hate on this video.
I remember when he died, it was all over the news. i was like 10 or 11. i didn't take much of a toll on me because i was young but to find out he died still shocked me!
dont wanna be mean or rude but didnt he die? Idk i am cryin cuz i use to always watch hiim when i was little!!! they don't make good shows like this anymore!! :'(((
@Drewit1 uhh have u noticed that TV supposedly losing their touch towards shows? like freaking Cartoon network made stupid shows like gumball and almost naked animals, etc.
@phatalbert73 awh that's so sad!!! I didn't wake up to that news!! I just heard bout it from my brother like a moth or so after he did pass on...... Cuz i was like why aren't they makin any new shows!? nd then he told me & I was like awh that suxx
God bless Fred Rogers, one of the nicest, most compassionate human beings to live on earth. I'm sad to have been a part of the last generation to grow up with "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood", knowing that children in the future may not have the wonderful opportunity to sit with their parents and here this man sing and speak about life in a way that children can understand. A true pioneer in the field of television and children's education, there certainly won't be another just like him.
Im asking this if anyone knows and i need the answer;
when he goes to his closet to change his jacket and shoes after he enters his crib, why does he do that and then when he ends the show, he goes to the closet to change into his original jacket and shoes when he leaves?
@dudetocartman See the idea is he comes to visit from work. That's why he's dressed up. He changes into his sweater and sneakers to have a relaxed visit with his television neighbors.
