@MrCoolTre Its pretty much an accepted fact that Tom's live voice isn't perfect. Eventually, you come to enjoy it, even like it. But yeah, for Tom, this performance is actually pretty good. You should go check out some performances in 2009 for comparison.

@JacenEnda MH 2011 sounds like a +44 reject. Even If She Falls is definitely a top 5 song on Neighborhoods. Wishing Well has some of the most straight forward lyrics on the album. Take 5 minutes to google and figure out what the lyrics are referring to. If you can't get an idea after the first listen you should really re evaluate how much of a Blink/Tom Delonge fan you are. I know there are a few people like you out there that don't appreciate Wishing Well, I personally just feel bad for you.

@carrylot IMO, musically MH 4.18.2011 sounds like it could've been on TOYPAJ, but alright, the lyrics do sound +44. I would disagree that Wishing Well has straightforward lyrics. The entire song is one big metaphor (about what Tom's been and how he's glad to be back now, yeah I get it) but it could've been written a lot better, more honest and straightforward as you say, without wishing wells, ocean floors and shooting stars. that's what i didn't like about the song.

@JacenEnda The main reason I loved the song from the get go is the guitar riff. It is totally unique and is another one you can throw on the classic Blink guitar riff pile. Out of every song on Neighborhoods "Wishing Well" sounds the most like vintage Blink 182. It has a mix of old (Enema) and new (Self Titled) sound going for it. Can't get much better then that.

Nah man, good songwriters are straightforward; GREAT songwriters use metaphors. It's a way of confronting the listeners with multiple meanings. ie Shakespeare (playwriter, but same principle applies) would never be as famous if not for his metaphors.
