Gotta say, I feel so fuckin' angry. We now know from the result of the inquest into Amy Winehouse's death that she didn't have to die. Her organs were normal on autopsy, so had she responsibly abstained from alcohol consumption, she really could have turned her life around. She told her doctor she didn't want to die, which makes me think she was either the dumbest or most egotistical person on earth to ignore her doctor's warning that her binge drinking would kill her.
She probably drank that much more than once. LOL I probably have too, but on that night it was just too much for her. The important thing to me is that she was trying to fight it. She was more than likely done with drugs, and was working on the alcohol. Sadley she just didn't get it done. In the end she should be remembered as a fighter. I feel like she really tried to make it back.

@OlymPigs2010 I was harsh. I was angry at her for a moment, which was stupid, since I never met, much less knew her, so she owed me nothing. But I'm blown away by her talent, like so many others, and I wish she'd accepted sound advice, which it seems she got, and made better choices about her addictions. Then, while I would love for her to have produced more great music, I wish at least she'd lived and found a way to be happy, even if that meant she'd needed to abandon her career.

It is amazing the difference 3 years made in her. the videos in 2011 vs the videos in 2008 are painfully different. Drugs are no joke and can kill all opportunities and dreams before you even realize it has gotten out of control. A few short years and she is gone because of one bad choice.

When she was in her best clear frame of mind she was pretty fantastic!! She had an amazing and quite unique voice, and it work very wel with the style and brand of music she chose. It was jazz, it was cabaret, it was awesome.

Having worked as a "Sideman" -- I picked up that term, from hanging with Jazz players-- I must take this moment to give a shout out, to Amy's band. They are great players and, know how to compliment her vocals. and her stage presence..... and Amy's stage presence is as captivating as her voice and songs. I will.always refer to her as "IS" not "WAS" because she will Always be Alive as long as there is breath in my lungs, and a beat in my heart.. I Love You, Amy
