  • nice video guys. could help me decide which is better between fuji finepix f550 and fuji hs20? thanks

  • --- your not familiar with my description of problems. i went to a local car show this afternoon and there was a particularlly vibrant candy-apple red paint job on an old hot rod and although the lighting was surpurb and the car looked beautiful to the eye, my lack of knowledge left me to only use the exr mode as most of the other modes would only come up with a completely black or white picture. i was confused as the exr left me with an image of this red car appearing pink and dull.

  • Hi guys, great videos, very insighful and great info. I purchased a HS20 about 6 months ago from a store in medford, oregon. They promised me unbeatable picture quality and many other great features with this camera, however i'm an amatuer photographer and trying to find more instrictions on the settings with more detail because i'm really not sure if i have the correct settings applied to my camera as i get many unfocused and mis-coloured pictures. i can provide more info if ---

  • what about focus points? i havea s2950 and i like to use area focus, but that focus box is kind of big. is there way of tightening up that focus point with this cam?

  • @hoodboi718 No, not on this model. The Fuijfilm X-S1 does offer the ability to move focus points (49 points) as well as increase or shrink the focus area.

  • I Have Asked My Mum For This For My Birthday To Replace My Nikon L110 Am I Doing The Right Thing Because I Am Changing To Bump Up Picture Quality

  • @HBKingdom Please have a look at the new HS25/HS30 camera as it now replaces the HS20. As for image quality, it will slightly be improved. Better low-light shots.

  • i was about to buy this cam! but when i knew it use AA battery -> i buy sony HX100v!

  • @Hoangminhvuong831273 HS20 is now replaced by HS25 or HS30. HS25 offers AA, HS30 offers Li-ion, plus 900k EVF, plus RAW shooting. HS25 $399, HS30 $499 CAD

  • Gostei muito do video... Mas tem como vc postar ou como faço para conseguir em portugues?

    Seria melhor ainda. valew

  • @cleiton4476 Oi, desculpe, não fazemos vídeos em português

  • the !camera is staying on can you tell me how to get it off

  • @kaylah424143 Increase lighting in the room, pop the flash up and use flash, increase ISO. The !camera means that due to lighting in the area, the camera will use slower shutterspeeds that can cause blur in the image. "Camera Shake" possible. Hold steady, use tripod, increase lighting in area, use the flash, and/or increase ISO

  • why do it shakes in video when in zoom?

  • @donniebangout It's manual zoom. As you rotate to extend the zoom, the lens moves slightly and causes the shake. This is normall

  • I have this camera and have tried to blur the background but am struggling to achieve it. I have used the pro focus setting but sometimes it says unable to create effect.

If I go to manual what setting doI need?

    Please

    Dene

  • @deneoo1 Try stepping back a little further and zooming slightly in to help with the Pro Focus mode. Ensure there is some distances behind your subject, this will help too. If not shooting in Pro Focus mode, try zooming a lot more to your subject (when shooting outside), this will help to isolate the subject better.

  • ¿I can use this camera to make a timelapse?

  • @thesoldad No timelapse feature on any Fujifilm model.

  • @fujiguys i meant ( When to replace the battery) *

  • @fujiguys does the camera have a battery indicator or (battery meter) to know when to replace the camera ??

or does it just shut down when the batteries run out ?

  • @omar5amy2 Low battery warning will appear. When batteries are very low, a large batter warning appears and then the camera shuts down.

  • It's very interesting, but I learned a little bit cause I don't speak english well. So, can you do this for the spanish users please?

  • @mayonesafull Sorry, We currently don't have plans for a Spanish version.

  • In spanish, please

  • I have one of these cameras and am very impressed with it

  • At min 12:00 you set up 16 shots per seconds. How can you do that ? I can set up max 8 shots per seconds and it seems i cannot modify them.

  • @ethereea 16 shots can not be done in EXR Auto mode. Change it to another shooting mode, then you can select the 16 shots.

  • Why these cameras will be no possibility of installing microphone or any lighting device for improving the video? As much as FlyCAM should make a video to see how it looks.

  • @yajusi No Mic input. The X-S1 offers external Mic input however.

  • Does it come with that lens hood?

  • Comment removed

  • @MrIssyisaac Yes.

  • Continue..

More zoom, high resolution, shoot more frames per second. sec., record HD in double speed. Yes I could go on, there's enough to make on the "new model" even that HS20EXR is "perfect".

    Best regards.

    Rikard Svenningsen

  • @RikardSvenningsen Thanks for your comment. We introduced the new HS30EXR model and also a new X series model (X-S1) that offers manual focus during video recording. Please check them out.

  • Continue..

Autofocus should be turned off completely, so you have the opportunity to use the excellent manual focus, if it is complemented with the option of just pressing AE / AF lock so it would be perfect, it could be supplemented with half-depression of photo shutter button.

I really hope that FujiFilm will be doing an update to address this.

It does not prevent that you will purchase a new improved FujiFilm camera. There's so much on this front to the next "FujiFilm HS30EXR"?.

  • Continue..

FujiFilm HS20EXR is so good that it hurts me that they forgot to use the qualities of film camera, after all, this is only problem with this camera, the whole problem is just some missing buttons which can be done very simply with a firmware update, thus making it the best camera to buy.

  • Continue..

    Look for RikardSvenningsen" on Youtbue

Find "Flying birds", Sparrow, and Water drops.

  • Hello again FyjiGuyes.

Just a follow-up on my enthusiasm for FujiFilm HS20EXR.

Taking pictures with this is just wonderful.

Therefore, it is also a shame that the camera is not equipped with the right features when doing film clips.

I've made some videos showing some of the specialties, but I have not here demonstrated the good quality with HD footage.

  • @fujiguys i m confused to buy a cam b/w fuji hs 20 and canon sx 30 ..can u plz fairly tell me hows ur fuji is superb than canon sx 30 is. plz help me to choose a proper cam. with regards:)

  • @TheNavdeep47 Both cameras are great choices. We just introduced the new HS30 which now offers even better quality EVF and runs on Li-ion batteries instead. For cameras, i would try to get to a local camera store and try both out to see which one feels better in the hand.

  • @fujiguys there is a humming sound while videoing due to auto focus...hw can i eliminate it..:)

  • @TheNavdeep47 You can change the camera to not Auto Focus during video by setting it to Center AF vs Continuous AF for the video setting.

  • what is this yellow camra whit ? on the led at 7;33 on my hs20 i got this yellow thing allthetime what is it for anyone

  • @grego10r It's a symbol that indicates that there will be a possibility of camera shake due to the camera using a slow shutterspeed (insufficient lighting in the room). This symbol will go away when more lighting is introduced, or the flash is enabled.

  • @fujiguys thanks for replying got it ty

  • Very nice vid!! got a load of new ideaswhich weren't explained in user manual.

    One question:

could you pleeeeeeaaase explain the AE/AF Lock Button. This must be a very interesting point!

Thanks again for your vids. Please do more of them.

  • @MrEdRosenthal AE (Auto Exposure), AF (Auto Focus). These button allow you to lock either the exposure and/or focus. It can be customized to either lock exposure only, focus only, or both. By locking the exposure, you can then reposition and recompose your photo, the exposure settings remain the same however the focus will change depending on where you point the focus. Vice versa for Focus, you lock the focus, recompose the scene, the cameras will just set the locked exposure.

  • @MrEdRosenthal e.g. Lock Focus only, you want to take a picture of a subject but want to compose the subject so they are at the side of the picture instead of the middle. the camera will change exposure to the newly composed scene while maintaining the same focus (which is your subject). Hope i didn't confuse you.

  • @fujiguys (n_n)

just a little, but thanks for the answer. i will try and try and...

  • haha, loved how the artefacts appeared on the edges of the baby's head when they showed up the "pro focus" mode ^^ Still, I love this camera but this mode is definetly unusable !

  • @fujiguys guys i bought this camera and i thought that it was incredible now that i bought it though it has many problems ... first is VERY shallow depth of field i just wanted to know if it was in my camera only or it could be adjusted from the options or what cause i am very disappointed... by the way i use maximum appeture to make it happen but it just does nothing ... answer plz!

  • @010ramez When you mean very shallow depth of field, do you mean you can't get everything in focus, or the opposite? If things are not in focus, check that you don't have the Macro on switched on. If you mean the opposite, everything is in focus but you can't isolate subjects, is the nature of this style camera. Try stepping further back and zooming in to the subject. This will help to create subject isolation.

  • Hello again FujiGuys

If below is not possible in that way, you might make it in this way, Auto focus when Video start, and if you need to renew focus just push the AE/AF Lock button.

That would be a nice button to have.

  • @RikardSvenningsen

agree , i thought about the same idea too , when i shoot a video with my fuji , i keep pressing on the AE/AF Lock button asking my self like "what if , what if this button was for re focusing durning the video ?"

here's me reposting what you said :

"you might make it in this way, Auto focus when Video start, and if you need to renew focus just push the AE/AF Lock button.

That would be a nice button to have."

    Can you fuji ?

  • @RikardSvenningsen I agree with you. Here are you options for now, set the video focus mode to centre focus. When you need to refocus, press the shutter button to take a photo during video. Doing this, the camera will refocus again.

  • Hello FujiGuys.

Some other people have ask for Manual focus on HS20EXR, why not make a firmware upgrade that make it possible to do manual focus on Videos?

Until than What setup is best when do videos to avoid blurring auto focus?

  • hae can u ues zoom when viedoing thanks

  • @MPT123X Yes, you can manually zoom during video recording

  • Love your vids guys, really helps me getting to grips with this cam. This cam is awesome!!!

  • ok, i give up, i cant find in the book, on how to get back in setup, the date is off. i tryed trickin it. but havent found the keys yet, only to update it, witch didnt see that in the book neather, an now i forgot how i got there. an dont care right now. but this date is driving me mad. heheee

o, ya, i like your vidieoo, its helpin me work this cam. witch i really like.

  • @RunnnDog Press the menu/ok. Press the direction pad "left" then "down" and then "right" to change from shooting tab to setup tab. Now you can scroll up/down until you see the date/time settings.

  • Guyz, I am not sure how to get my autofocus mode in "Area". When I am in AF-S mode, "Area" is not an option for AF. What am I missing?

    Thanks

    Stephen

  • @MrStephenGB Ok got it, face detection must be off.

  • @MrStephenGB Turn of Face Detection if it is on.

  • hi, does this hs20 have digital zoom? how to disable and enable it? i can't find any info about digital zoom for HS20. fujiguy, please explain it

  • I love this wow-thats-greate-guy!

  • PLEASE HELP?READ************

What mode do i go on to capture moving images??? For skating?

Cause when i take a photo it blurs if they are moving ( i use it for skating) PLEASE REPLY!

  • Just had this camera yesterday. how do I change to 8MP?

  • it looks complicated

  • my mom just ordered this camera for me.

  • @fujiguys , When I record a video especially at night were its silent, when the camera focuses, I hear weird sounds. Please help me with this , its so annoying. Thanks.

  • @Ashrafster It's normal, Camera is picking up Auto focus motor noise. Try change the AF movie mode to Centre. This will lock the focus and prevent the camera will adjusting focusing during video recording.

  • Comment removed

  • will there be a fisheye lens for your cameras? I already have HS20! just no fisheye lens! Thanks!

  • @eccentriceivar We don't offer any add-on conversion lens. Look for conversion lens that will fit the thread of the HS20 from 3rd party.

  • Hi guys, i´ve noticed that when I shoot with the whole zoom out I get a lower resolution picture and some blur, how can I fix that, because it should´t happen on optical zoom.

  • @marianavillegasg Ensure you don't have Digital Zoom enabled. If you look at the zoom bar on the top left of the EVF when you zoom in and out, there should only be 1 bar, if it is separated, then you have digital zoom enabled. Also, when you shoot at full zoom, you need to have enough lighting / fast shutterspeed to prevent camera shake. at 720mm you need 1/720s at least to have a steady shot. Try increase ISO if needed

  • @fujiguys hi guys there is not digital zoom on hs20exr,

  • @fujiguys I wasn't aware there is a digital zoom on the HS20EXR, I certainly have not found it - not that I want to.

  • @fujiguys thanks!

  • Hello, i have bought this camera and i can't record a slow motion video. Please help!

  • @gfhoihoi72 Go into the menu by pressing the menu/ok button. Go down to where you can change the video resolution in the Movie Mode option, If you see the various HS video options listed. HS 640x480 (80fps), HS 320x240 (160fps), HS 320x112 (320fps).

  • ESPAÑOL PORFAVOR!

  • @Danysabella Lo sentimos, no tenemos vídeos disponibles en español

  • When I record something in night for example lights, the camera can't focus and everything looks blur(specially when zoom in). I'm using hs20exr and in AF mode. Please help me, I love this camera a lot.

  • @aadarshsingh12 Like most long zoom cameras, focus is slower at night and even at full zoom. Try focusing on sometime that has contrast and is near the subject you are trying to focus on. Use the pre-focus technique by holding hold halfway to pre-focus and then recomposing the scene in the lcd/evf. Once your happy, fully depress the shutterbutton to take the photo. In dark situations, a trick is to bring a flash light and shine it on your subject, than pre-focus, and shoot.

  • gregs faces make me laugh

  • Question to fuji guys. Would you prefer this to a begginer. meaning is easy to use for a starter. Thank you.

  • @asparagas95 Yes. Most cameras can be set to an Auto setting. In fact, this model (using EXR mode) does a great job for most situations as it auto adjust the different scenes and lighting.

  • Idiots learn to use Dynamic Range first...

  • Guys it is the worst camera I have ever handled please dont buy this one... Go in for SONY DSC HX100V... Which also hosts an 16MP EXR CMOS with 30X zoom which has better optical stabilization....

  • So... I just received this camera today! So far it has been great, but when I tried the video recoding in 1080p it filmed for a couple of minutes and then stopped and gave me the message: "write error" is it the cameras fault or the SD card? Thanks!

  • @ipadwatcher Maybe your SD card is too slow? If the camera can't write data fast enough on the SD card the camera has to turn down the fps or, better, give you an error message. Try if it happens in other movie modes like720p, and SD modes. If not, then your SD card can't write the data fast enough.

  • Looks like a nice camera. I am hunting for a capable camera now and am trying to narrow down XS-1, S2950, S3200 and the HS20EXR.

I've always struggled with understanding dynamic range functionality. With the example of that river going from 100-1600%, I could not see a difference.

  • sorry which bottom do you press to take pictures while taking a video??

  • @fanmanu1000 The shutter button (same button to take pictures with). The video is started and stopped by pressing the "Movie Rec" - Red button).

  • @fujiguys ok thanks a lot fujiguys your videos aRE GREAT!

  • Thank you!

What's the best camera for time lapse?

  • @MsLiam111 Not much P/S cameras have an intervalometer feature for time lapses photography. Typical, a DSLR would have input for an Intervalometer device to control the camera and would work the best. There are no intervalometer option or device for the HS20 (that in inexpensive and not custom or course). Please google time lapse and you will find the right device and settings.

  • Hello Fujiguys,

congratulation for this awesome video review !

but one think i want to know more.

How about night shots?? Whats the best option for shooting at night , thing at close and some objekts far away hope u understand my bad english

    great job

    mfg Aga

  • @Aga2pro64bit Depending on what your taking pictures of. If there is a subject in your shot, they Use EXR mode, set to S/N low Noise Priority. Set ISO to Auto (800). Use the flash. Flash will lighten the subject, while the higher ISO will allow for brighter background. If you are just taking scenery, Set ISO to 100, Set camera to Manual mode, change shutterspeed to 1/2 sec or more (try 1sec, 2sec, etc). Use a tripod! (No flash)

  • Hello there!

does this camera do Time lapse?

    Cheers

    Liam

  • @MsLiam111 No Time Lapse feature.

  • @fujiguys hi i have this camera but i just wanted to ask if i could do manual focus during video recording and thank you :)

  • @010ramez No. I wish it had too. Our new X-S1 model now offers MF during video. I hope to push this feature for all cameras in the future.

  • I was thinking of getting this camera probably mainly for filming. I make youtube vids and want to replace my current camera (iPod touch 4g;) and upgrade to something more professional... would this be the right option?

  • @AAHReviews It would be better than iPod touch of course. This camera would be ok however for professional work, please have a look at DSLR that offers movie mode. There is more control over Video on those cameras. Please note however, that even with a DSLR, lighting is very important. Better lighting you have, the better the video will be.

  • @fujiguys Well DSLR's are more expensive... I didn't really want to spend that much money in the first place. But what kind of lighting would you recommend? Any specific product... it shouldn't be more than 100$. Thanks!

  • @AAHReviews Just a set of Lights you can find in a camera/video camera store. Probably could get for less than $100. Helps to brighten the area where you film. This will greatly improve the quality of video. Even with an iPhone.

  • thanks guys just got the hs20 . and learning how to use it .it is a great camara for someone like my self to get started .getting some really good photos with it .but the camara is far better than me at this time had it 4 days .i could iv gone out and got myself a dslr glad i didnt i would be like a fish out of water .just like to say done a lot of shoping around and i think in my eyes this is the best bridge out there for me or as a step up into slr

  • hello fuji guys... it's great camera, sure... good job! one a question: what's stage granulation with high ISO utilization??? High or low granulation?

  • @shumahgorah The EXR processor offers shooting at high-sensitivity to capture images with low noise (granulation).

  • @FujifilmGuy1 thanks, fuji guys.. i taked the fuji hs20 next week.... really it's a great camera.... thanks...

    ricardo

  • i enjoyed watching this video..ang soon will be buying this camera :)

  • at 11:48 What would stop me moving from 8 frames to 16 frames? New camera and it's stuck on 8 frames. I try to scroll up to 16 but it's not moving. What would stop this? Or, how do you select 16 frames? Great video. I am new to photography and this is my first camera so all videos are helping. Many thanks:)

  • @Mi6Bagpuss Check your shooting mode. For 16 frames shooting, you can't shoot in the EXR mode,

  • @fujiguys Ah, I did have it set on EXR mode so thank you for knowing that. I don't have an instruction manual in English at the moment as I bought it in a foreign country so trying to muddle through:) Thank you for answering so promptly:) Thanks guys - great videos!

  • Hey guys, great videos. I have just bought this cam and really appreciate your work, Only request is for Greg to cut out the US-esque "that's awesome" crap. The camera's great, but please tone down the bs a bit :-)

  • hi how much that camera cost it is awesome

  • @bluejay148 SRP in Canada would be $399 CAD.

  • Would it be worth buying the HS20 now as I've heard that a camera called the Fujifilm XS1 with 26x zoom will come out next year?

  • @concordetejas4576 They are in different price range. X series are our premium lineup and thus will carry a premium price tag. HS20 currently retailers for $399 which offers great value for your money. The XS-1 does not replace the HS20 however.

  • Will the tracking auto focus feature works on movie mode?

  • @iAppleseedy Tracking AF does not operate in Movie Mode.

  • @fujiguys I'm also having trouble using the manual focus. Is there a manual focus on the camera?

  • @iAppleseedy Yes, MF can enabled via the "AF -C-S-M" button on the left of the LCD screen. Use the MF ring on the lense to adjust focus.

  • I love this camera.

    I'm so buying it.

  • Does anyone have any Pictures using the HS20 using the Pro Focus mode? i cant any videos or forums of anyone with more than one picture of Pro Focus mode!

also wat wud u guys recommend for indoor Action sports shots without using flash? can the HS20 handle the high ISO and faster shutterspeed without losing quality of the image?

  • @kuyapjdotcom Pro Focus, I don't have any samples handy. As for Action Sports without flash, the camera does a good job but there will be more noise as you shoot higher ISO. Ideally, i would keep the camera under 1600ISO. Shoot in the EXR S/N mode to get less noise in your photos.

  • he said 3x zoom once

  • hello fujiguys ,

please can you tell me why when shooting a video it only takes 20 sec and then it stops ! please tell me what to do to have a non stop video !

  • @younesHachicha It might be your SD card. Ensure for Full HD recording that you have at least a Class 6 rated card. For HD (720p) video, a class 4 rated or higher. Slower cards will cause the camera to stop. Also, if you have Class 6, try formating the card first in the camera.

  • hello Fujiguys I have asked a question before on another HS20 video before but would you know if a plane was taking off or landing and I wanted to continuously track it from the first moment I see it till it disappears/becomes out of reach would it work or what would happen. thanks

  • @concordetejas4576 It could work. I have never tried it that way however so can say for sure.

  • hello fuji guys !

it's me again having some problems with my first days using the HS20 !

i try to take a picture of someone and i want the sky to look blue on the pic ! but it's always white eaven when it is blue on the reality what can i do to get it ?

  • @younesHachicha I assume you are taking a picture where you have lots of shadow areas as well as very bright areas. Most digital cameras will have a tough time with this scene. The ability to hold detail in the sky (bright areas) and in shadow areas is consider as the dynamic range of a camera. The HS20 is much better than most cameras in these situations. Set the camera to the EXR mode, change the EXR mode to DR mode and increase the DR to 1600. This will help hold the details

  • Hi Fujguys.

Thanks for your response Ref macro mode.

One more question I have. I recently tried to take a picture of a waterfall by increasing the shutter speed to get a nice blurred effect. Every shot I took was over exposed, just a white screen. I tried to close the aperture and increase ISO to try and help combat this but to no avail. Can the HS20 take these types of shots?

  • @1212chui Yes it can. You will need a Neutral Density Filter to attach to the camera (This will darken the image). Then with the same settings you had, it won't be overexposured but you will get motion from the water (which is what i think you are looking to do). I think you mixed up description of the the iso and exposure. It should be decrease the ISO (i.e. 100ISO) and decrease the shutterspeed (slow shutterspeed) (i.e. 1sec, 2sec, etc...).

  • Hi fuji guys..i've seen this review so many times and i still cant come up with a decision. i need to have your opinion with which camera produces the best quality picture, regardless the zoom range. Thanks! I ♥ your reviews btw, very informative!

  • @lushell09 The best camera would be a DSLR with a very good lens Prime lens 50mm 1.4, or zoom lens (24-70 2.8), or (70-200 2.8). Of course, this would cost $1500+ with the later two lense costing over $1500 alone. The question would be, what quality is good enought for you. That question is normally based on your budget. Saying that, the HS20 is one of the best bangs for the bucks camera with great features, and very good image quality. I would check flickr for samples from HS20.

  • @fujiguys thank you so much for taking your time replying!! Good camera comes with good people behind it..i will surely grab HS20 this coming holidays as gift to myself..

  • Hi Fujiguys, thanks for these videos they are very helpful, I got my HS20 a few days ago. I mainly take pictures of birds, the pics look ok on the computer until I blow them up to actual size then they look smeared, almost like a painting. Is there something I can try to minimize this effect?

  • @Gargrand Try minimizing the ISO on the camera (800ISO or lower) works best. This will help. When you print the image say (8x10), the smearing may be less apparent however

  • I have another question for the Fujiguys. I have the HS20EXR and the EF-42 flash. I want to use the flash, off camera, either with a cable and/or wireless trigger. Can you tell me what cable and/or wireless trigger would work with this camera while maintaining iTTL communications? Thank you.

  • @girlperson1 There is no devices that will allow you to use the flash off camera and still have TTL. Sorry

  • @fujiguys Thank you. Is the iTTL feature proprietary or is it a Nikon set up of one sort or another?

  • @girlperson1 Nikon calls it i-TTL but other brands like Canon have flashes that can be wireless trigger and support TTL as well. We currently do not have any flashes that will allow for wireless trigger.

  • hello fuji guys , first i just want to say thank you very much for these 3 videos about the fujifilm you guys really helped me to choose the camera that fits my needs ! i just got it few days back all i want to know is what is the best mode to get the best pictures indoor and outdoor please help me because metimes i shoot pics and it's not that good ! please help !

  • @younesHachicha Indoors, set to EXR mode. Change the S/N Low Noise Priority mode via the Menu. Set the ISo to AUTO (800). USe flash when shutterspeeds are too slow. As for Outdoors, you technically can keep the same settings. For portraits (outdoor in good light), stand back further and zoom in on the subject. This will help to isolate the subject and give you some shallow depth of field.

  • @fujiguys thanks guys this really helped me a lot !

and i want to know why sometimes while using the profucus mode ! i try to have the blurred back in the picutre and sometimes it only tooks 2 or 1 frames once but it is already selected at 3 ! it thet normal ?

  • @younesHachicha It depends on the scene. Try stepping further back and zooming in a little and then using the pro-focus mode. This will help to achieve 3 frames vs 2 frames.

  • @fujiguys thanx it really works :D

  • Hi Fuji Guys, I am having real trouble with the macro function on the Hs20. Whenever I try to focus on the close up subject the camera starts to focus the background.

Is there anything I can do on the settings to stop this?

    Thanks

  • @1212chui There are two macro modes, Macro = 10cm away from an object, and SuperMacro = 1cm away. If you have the camera on centre focus vs face detection, than it will be easier to focus. Ensure for whatever mode your on that you are the right distance away. I.e. , in macro mode, if you are 5cm away, you won't get focus, you would have to change to the Super Macro mode instead.

  • This video helped alot. I just bought my HS20EXR and have been wondering how best to set up the camera to take pictures of subjects in motion. Now I know. ^_^ Would continuous shot feature be suitable for taking pictures of birds in flight? Or would a different function be better? Btw I am a beginner but am already in love with camera. Excellent work FujiFilm for making such a wonderful camera.

Also I live in Scotland and it is VERY rainy here. Could you recommend a waterproof camera case?

  • @Lostfaith1980 Yes, continous shooting mode would be good for taking actions shots of birds in flight. You could use that mode for any action. As for case for the camera, we don't make any waterproof casing. Please check with 3rd party case or just use a plastic bag and cut a hole so the lens goes through it.

  • @fujiguys Thanks and sorry, I meant a waterproof carry case. Kind of like the Lowpro series. Though I don't know if any of them are genuinely waterproof in regards to heavy rain. And I ofcourse don't want to find out the hard way that the case I buy isn't rain proof and end up ruining my camera. Any advice?

As I said I've already been looking at the lowpro series.

  • @Lostfaith1980 If the lowepro bags indicated that they are waterproof, then, you should have anything to worry about. Some Lowepro have a sleeve that is hidden in a pocket and then can be opened and wraps the whole bag to protect from the rain. Hope this helps.

  • @fujiguys Thanks. I appreciate the help. Living in Scotland means living with almost constant torrential rain. heh.

  • Do the Fujiguys do tutorials for this camera? It would be nice if they did.
