  • Enjoyed this video! I have watched trains many times from this exact spot its nice cuz you can see south and northbound signals and you catch all the Amtraks coming and going to Raleigh. And yes late in the evening is a good time on the A-line here cuz you see the q 173, auto train, and the tropicana empties going south all pretty close to each other. It can be irregular at times too like you said i've waited several hours with no trains.

  • My favorite trains to see is the ones with about 5 or 6 engines pulling around 50 boxcars then 2 or 3 engines in the middle then more cars.

  • oh yeah, I know NS 172 uses a DPU, but I've never seen him before

  • Just keep up the good work

  • thanks, I appreciate it

  • I,m glad someone knows all the good spots to see trains i used to go to greensboro nc to watch trains

  • how long was the wait in between trains

  • Well, there were 3 in about the 1st hour, then an hour and a half lull. Around noon, all of the sudden there were 5 trains in a short amount of time. The A-Line can be very irregular, and I think in this area, it's better later in the day (not sure on that though). I went there for a longer visit than this one and only saw 3 trains. I have had better luck on the NS main.

  • Nice catch with the U125 and the Sperry Car.

  • Thanks, I thought he was going to block my shot of U125, but it turned out to be just the right timing.

  • thanks

  • very nice!

  • thanks

  • Sweet K5LA on that P42!!

  • I know, he really tried playing with it.
