Anarchist societies function very well wherever they are. The last prominent Anarchist societies were in Sweden in the early to mid 20th century. The ONLY way for anarchy to work is to have institutions, not as they exist, but as privatized systems without corporation. If you want mail, privatize the post office. If you absolutely have to have law enforcement (god forbid), militias work (they have for hundreds of years). Anarchy is NOT a society without laws, just without state.

Anarchy happens. People are farming, having a good time and suddenly they notice a really good farmer. He is so good, they volunteer to work for him. He utilizes the new man power, which requires a great deal of organizational rules. A strong community develops. Others communities wish to join. It begins to amass. New rules and regulations are required, to maintain, but people realize the benefit already achieved by this system and willingly participate. The community becomes a country... oops.

Anarchy relies on peaceful coexistance and a lack of greed. Greed has become common human nature, this greed would have no restraint without any form of governing body. That greed with no restraint would result in rape, theft and violence. Peaceful coexistance wouldn't work, as groups with opposing ideals form (this itself is a small form of government, on its own defeating anarchy) and fight (this has been shown with government, without it would be less restrained). He utilizes the new man power, which requires a great deal of organizational rules. A strong community develops. Others communities wish to join. It begins to amass. New rules and regulations are required, to maintain, but people realize the benefit already achieved by this system and willingly participate. The community becomes a country... oops.

@killlies Just stating that anarchy is peace and tranquility to all doesn't make it so. In an anarchy, there would be practically no incentive to not kill or rob so to say that it would be "peace and tranquility" is wishful thinking at best. Without widespread co-operation and a degree of order, how is humanity expected to advance in any practical sense?
No one could ever convince me that anarchy isn't just a regressive ideology built on shaky ground.

without laws their would be no restriction. With no restriction their would be chaos. Look at Africa ,Nazi Germany, and Siberia. Im with you on peace but their will always be evil, its in mans nature to sin. If you think we have it bad go to Africa their is geinocide, rape, and no laws trust we need laws they just need to be split between the people and government evenly America is the best country so live your life.

@xXwargasm06x Just throwing in my two cents but the reason why other places are so horrible compared to the US are due to the fucked up shit the US has done to the world. From backed dictators to puppet governments to the World Bank, the US has created the conditions for why we live in such a horrid world. The definition we anarchists agree upon is no state or any form of government. Rules can be in place. The people themselves will enforce it. As for evil, it is human behavior and not nature.

"Anarchy is against the creation of laws". Without any law, obviously, people can do what they want, with no consequence. For example, if a man wanted sex with your daughter, he could just grab her and do what he wants with her. He could then just walk away. You may hate the idea of cops, but they do prevent that type of situation. "Perfect" anarchy is a hopeless ideal. And imperfect anarchy would be destructive. More so than having government.

You people make me sick. Go and do proper research and face reality instead of listening and believing people with stupid ideas and ridiculous ideaologies. Anarchy does not bring peace, anarchy brings violence, looting and dis-array. There would be no code to live by resulting in lawlessness. The people who are saddistic, murder, rape etc would be free to do as they please, bringing fear into the lives of many, who would otherwise live peacefully if the types mentioned above were locked away.

Anarchy relies on peaceful coexistance and a lack of greed. Greed has become common human nature, this greed would have no restraint without any form of governing body. That greed with no restraint would result in rape, theft and violence. Peaceful coexistance wouldn't work, as groups with opposing ideals form (this itself is a small form of government, on its own defeating anarchy) and fight (this has been shown with government, without it would be less restrained). Anarchy can't work.

im a christian,and i used to support a reformed USA goverment but then i decided that USA is a lost cause,i consider my self a personal Anarchist that means i dont care about goverment cause im not apart of it,but when i hear the things the goverment does,it does make me sad and sick

agreed, you are completely right. i for one believe that this violence is a conditioned state, if human beings were used to treating each others as equals in an autonomous nation people wouldn't be so used to resort to violence to get what they want. this text limit really puts a hurt on me, but i think we could get along perfectly. if you ever want to converse my AIM sn is Adregalus
