from Radio Days, a great Woody Allen movie . if you havent seen it ,please do. This song, and version is played during my favorite scene. The "Radio City Music Hall" scene. thanx for posting
i agree that this axel stordahl version is superior to the nelson riddle one ;but then frank was amuch younger man in 1943.thanks for posting.peter miles 2314575
@kgh4175 Later on in his career Sinatra became more sophisticated and also more jazzy, but in this earlier and more innocent part of his life he had this wonderful, smooth voice that was perfect for romantic ballads like this. I have seen the "short subject": that was shown between features in movie theaters and also in high schools around the country to promote racial and religious "tolerance." In it Sinatra sang this song and also another called "The House I Live In." --Lloyd Kropp
This is one of the most heartwarming shows I've ever seen, but with a good laugh thrown in. It's dark comedy at it's best. About the song. Frank sung it in a 1943 short film paid for by the government during WW2, to help the war effort and also to promote tolorance. This is a newer version and arrangement of the song. In this film he introduced his new song The House I Live In.
I've never seen this series. Is it here in the USA or in Europe. Did you add Frank Sinatra's song, "If You Are But A Dream" or do they play it as a theme in the series? I came across this Video when I was doing a search for the song. The song is from the
40's. Thank's for posting it, the sound is flawless.
The series originated in the USA at the end of 2007, but it has been bought and aired in the UK (ITV), as well. I don't think it's been picked up anywhere else, yet.
Glad you found the video. I love the fact that the song is what led you to it! It's such a good song. :)
Oh, and the show doesn't use the song. I added it because the song, especially the lines "I long to kiss you, but I would not dare. I'm so afraid that you may vanish in the air" fit the show perfectly (he can't touch her or she'll die...again).
Thank you for the info. I agree with you that the song fits the story plot, hope they show it here, I'd love to see it but will probably be dissapointed not to hear the song played on it.

Great video, and the song sounds like the original from the 1944 movie soundtrack, which was the best version of this song.
