  • This is for the birds

  • @marco41636 It has Post-Rock elements, it is not Post-Rock.

  • @umomuio11 what would you call this then? post ambient? ambient? what? just curious. I seem to be gravitating toward this type of music lately

  • Excelent!

  • THIS IS NOT POST ROCK

  • @NoZAutonomy ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? .-.

  • Maybe "Port Blue" or "Explosions in the Sky."

  • @04MadCow Ooo, I almost forgot about Explosions in the Sky for the past few months, thanks for reminding me!

  • Meh, might be interested in Godspeed You! Black Emperor, though it has no electronicish stuff. Pure post-rock.

  • if anyone could recommend a song/band/album even remotely as good or similar in some respect to this composition, such a post would be greatly appreciated. This is fantastic.

  • Their music is always lonely sounding.

  • @avixilynn i get that feeling too

  • Makes me wonder... have Explosions in the Sky renamed to Helios?!

  • @Rachelrocks32596 "Indie" is not a genre of music you stupid hipster.

  • @itarethetroll Hah, yes it is. "Hipster" is honestly the stupidest word to ever be introduced to anyone's vocabulary. "Indie" is a music genre, not a stereotype.

  • @tabrahkadabra No, it's not. People describe artists of many different sounds as "indie" even if they sound completely different. People have called, Neutral Milk Hotel, Animal Collective, and Radiohead "indie". Obviously these bands are not the same genre. It's a meaningless label. "Indie" lost all meaning when people started trying to make it something more than a shortened way to say "independent record label".

  • @tabrahkadabra So was beatnik. Oh wait that started the psychedelic movement with 90% of today's music was originated.

Even still, labels are pointless. I would encourage you to find something else to do.

  • Beautiful just beauitiful, absolutely wonderfjul. Well done !!!

  • longing... curiosity... wonder... truth... contentness... love

  • "no description available". Should be "no description possible"

  • @imonyourfacewoot smart comment. :-)

  • Wow

  • I love the description.

  • This should belong in the silent hill games :)

  • The piano is how I would imagine rain hitting the keys...beautiful

  • @jjbmcalitt try this song with rainymood, dot , com ;) that is great!!!

  • @jjbmcalitt add rainymood[dot]com to this video if you like :-) you can adjust the volume of the rain falling :)

  • Szeretlek Máté <3

  • Szeretlek Sára <3

  • awesome.

  • man, this music hits the spot

  • this is amazing

if you like helios you might like

    gabriel williams - split

  • the clouds look like they are legit floating. thats wat this music can do to u. :)

  • Really liked this one, more so as it progressed. I'm about to embark on a journey hitchhiking from the north tip of the south island to the bottom in new zealand. I barely have any cash but the riches of perception which I hope to open as I go on. (hoping to get a job in queenstown!) This song closesly reflects how I'm feeling right now, tired from the depths of me, and ready to search on.

Thumbs up to wish me luck!

  • a friend turned me on to this.. and l love it...

  • My heart says " amazing "

  • this is simple Post Rock mixed with Downtempo. I'm not so into it. My favourite post rock performer is Bogatzke, i once saw him performing live. Very atmospheric and epic.

  • Am I trippen balls! or do those fucking trees move in the video? Tell me I'm not the only one.

  • @OldSnake21100 omg i see it too O.O

  • @DoubleEdgedSword12 I knew I wasn't alone!

  • @OldSnake21100 Lol, you're trippin balls. They're just blurred so it creates the effect that they're moving if you stare at them too long.

  • WHERE AM I?

  • Who is helios?

  • I.... I...... I juste can't describe my feeling so im gonna go sleep with this music in my Ipod to have a reflexion about how its magic and beautiful.

  • you know what i noticed.

in most genres there often are people hating on that certain genre. but try to find me someone hating on ambient music like this. there is just no hate about ambient music.

  • 3 people must be deaf and blind...

  • Amazing chiller, wonderful work been done on this track!

    Thanks for the up.

  • oh yes

  • there really needs to be a repeat button in youtube.

  • @saedt there is, it's F5 n00b

  • If you like Helios, Rachel's, Hammock, Goldmund, Eluvium, Boards of Canada, The Album Leaf, Sigur Ros, and similar artists, you might like my stuff. I'd love some support! :)

  • The rapturing into bliss while absorbed in the 2nd rupa jhana with this song cannot be described with words!

    100% PURE Sukha!

  • The rapturing into bliss while absorbed in the 2nd rupa jhana with this song cannot be described with words!

  • If you guys like Helios, Hammock, Eluvium, Sigur Ros, Parachutes, or The Album Leaf, you might like some of my stuff. I haven’t gotten a whole lot of feedback, so all is appreciated. Thanks

  • I swear those clouds are moving.

  • I heard this song at Vimeo on a video called "Postcard From Bali". Had to find it. Fantastic.

  • What equipment Helios use except quitar ?

  • I love this..

However, does anyone no of a group that makes something this soothing but has a...well for lack of a better word... kick? I am an ambient lover 100% but, some times I wish it would break out to be a little heavier. Kind of like some of Buckethead's slower songs...

  • @supercoolninjayo you can try "four tet"(to start your search look for four tet- my angel rocks back and forth) and "manual"(to start you search look for manual-tomorrow) and also , a great source of new music for me is stereomood. com ;) enjoy friend

  • @EonsOfReflection Thank you very much!

  • @supercoolninjayo Sigur Ros if you havent already tried them

  • @supercoolninjayo You should check out Crush it to Death, or perhaps Russian Circles.

  • @supercoolninjayo check out the american dollar. DEA, for example

  • I'm not kiddng this is the first time i've heard this music and i LITERALLY cried..

  • I listen to such a variety of music, that hearing something new like ambient makes me shutter. I listen to Buckethead, Gorillaz, Ratatat, and even some heavier stuff like Sparta, or System of a Down. All of this because of my need...or more like obsession to find music or even sounds to wash cluttered head. It is like taking a shower for me. This music is like getting out of a cold pool on a hot day. Or the first few crunchy leaves under your feet. It just feels... pure.

  • @supercoolninjayo thank you for such a wonderful portrail

    i feel the same .

like i need a large variety of music that resonates with more and more of my moods as a way of feeling them out and letting them wash over me, not block my energy and perspective:D

  • Wow.

  • i love just going to these videos, just to see what people have such beautiful, amazing music. no words can describe......

  • I become deaf after listening to this, because I literally jizz out my ears.

  • When the nature's crying for love.

  • When the wind speaks.......

  • days ago I recorded the first radio interview ever for the band i'm playing with. When the guy asked me "what's music for you?"....i answered that first of all is the best universal language we have...and that music at its best is silence in my opinion. He was shocked and irritated. Even if we all create music, i'm sure that that guy hasn't listened to Helios, Explosions in the sky, Sigur Ros...he should if he'd like to undesrtand part of the meaning of the answer.

  • @musicshake

Well, most people on this earth are complete morons, who are misled by the media. This seems to be an excellent example ;-)

  • นี่และชีัวิต

  • amazing track!!! so good.

  • do you hear the dripping morning dew the piano plays in the beginning?

do you hear the sun setting from 2:53?

The CD from HELIOS - Eingya is the best ambient album I know. Minimalistic and to the point.

You can make deep love to your girlfriend, you can think of the full esthetics of the nature - it's genius!

  • just awsome, pure emotion

  • i wanna make love to this...

  • whoa, just found out that this guy is from my hometown... I thought he was just another one of those musical geniuses from Iceland or something.

  • I just bought this album. It makes it into my top three list of ambient albums :)

Aphex Twin, Selected Ambient Works 2, Oneohtrix Point Never - Returnal, Helios - Eingya

  • Work becomes hobby when listening to this. Thnx Helios

  • close your eyes, let it take you

  • Songs like this remind me of the true beauty and essence of life

Yes I know that sounds cheesy as all hell, but it's true

  • sounds like the music that plays when a demon takes flight to commit massacre to a legion of angels that is already circling in the clouds above.

  • @BigKazzy mmm sounds peachy

  • @BigKazzy lol awesome

  • we pick our brains, redefining what a human is. is it the way we smile? or the way we talk? or is it the way melt into the grass when our chests cave in?

  • Love it! :)

  • when nothing helps, this helps.

  • @MsFlashbulb i would give that ten thumbs up if i could.

  • @MsFlashbulb Erm... what?

  • @TheModernReaper Exactly, we're dealing with a faggot here.

  • if you like this music you should go to the shoutcast site and type in " Radio Ultimae " :D

And no, I'm not affiliated with that station :) just a infatuated with this music

  • Very nice, must buy some CD of theirs

  • genius, amazing, beautiful, zen, 5/5

  • 2:54 through about 3:41 makes me feel feelings i didn't know i could feel

  • weightless...

  • wonder who makes these kinda songs

  • @bluenblue01 helios lol

  • magic!

  • it looks like the clouds are moving oO

    beautiful, track and also picture

  • hahah @ zartic4life...People say the most pathetic shit on youtube. You aren't "deep" for saying something pretentious.

  • something about this song that is so beautiful

  • Najlepsze słońce pod niebem:)

  • I love how all the pictures in the clouds (sailboat on river, L kicking a ball through goal post(that a guy holding his arms up or down?), storm brain abrewin in purple while the blue eyes watch between the red to find gray. Very very very nice.

  • sorry to anyone who i contradict but...

    this is just music...

personally, i love it. i think its incredibly emotive...

but saying that you need to be sophisticated to listen to it?

i cant wholly agree. music is for anyone and everyone regardless of intelligence or sophistication.

    just enjoy it :]

  • incredible

  • 2:53. This is where life begins.

  • Why doesn't this band have a wikipedia page?

  • Beautiful !

  • did you edit the photo by photoshop or the or chemtrails edit the weather?

  • @wordsmeanall

the photo is stock, havent been editing nothing.

  • @neuropunkster chemtrails control the whater (clouds...) spraying shit in the atmosphere since '90, and that's why the picture has strange color... my question was a joke

  • @neuropunkster That's some amazing photos. Of course music is a bliss too.

  • To @zartic4life

    (answer not possible to post)

I so agree with you... good statement

    thanks for it

  • When a group can take music without vocals and make it this beautiful, that takes some talent.

  • That picture is evening, not morning. :P

  • This is pretty much close to PERFECT

  • If you like this, you'll love Helios Halving The compass-spread the word about them- if you tell a friend, and your friend tells a friend......

  • Makes me think of wandering through a large abandon city. Kinda like 28 days later.

  • @Sikayda I really liked that movie.I took all my friends to go see it and they called me a deush...lol...great music

  • part: 4:00 - 4:36...

  • Helios Remix on AMETSUB's new album!

    youtube.com/watch?v=pxGqockNd_s&feature=watch_response

  • this song with specifical vocals would be a black metal song . Nevertheless not a big black metal fan

  • Makes me realize how important the nature is. God bless the future...

  • One of the most beautiful ambient / instrumental tracks I know, if not the most beautiful one...

  • anyone else getting "28 days later" vibes for whoever seen that movie ?

on topic: I've kinda fell in love with this track <3
