  • The LCD Cable is cracked or broke.

  • u probably just needed a hard drive

  • its not dell its your software!!

  • @marcus974ever Oh, software causes the video card to overheat now?

  • happened to mine. thats y i switch to a mac :P

  • LOL thats odd

  • mine did the same exact thing alls you have to do is squeeze the monitor on thecorners

  • I had the same problem few times be4 , and it had to do some thing with my windows vista , it happened every time after my laptop screen goes off after the screen saver and such or when I close the lid after that I formated my windows and used xp instead .... it works way better this way.

  • i had this problems there should be an update for it

  • dude just move your head back and forth really really fast and it's like there's nothing wrong.

  • HAHAHAHAH LOL~!

  • lol. man you're funny! that's a good one! but not very practical nubcake! -.-

  • looks like it is losing sync? Odd effect for a LCD...

  • my screen is turning a pinkish tinge now off and on- anyone else having the same problem....

  • no if u put ubuntu on it will cause fucking 9/11 again so if u fuckers dare say ubuntu is good u are oviously fucking dumb

  • like dude, your laptops like fucked up man

  • I have seen the same problem on a number of laptops.

Make sure that correct video-drivers are inslalled.

Try connect external screen. If problem still accures, probably the videocard is broken.

If not, then check flex-cable from motherboard to internal screen.

  • im having soon laptop and im hapy ;)

  • um..huh?

  • this is a virus no question about it.

Get Linux on that laptop and problem solved forever :)

  • LINUX RULES DUDE!!!!!!

  • i have that laptop and nothing happens

  • Well , I have that laptop didn't get that problem , but maybe try reinstalling the OS with the disc you get if that still doesn't work then its screen card..

  • u have a keylogger

  • hmmm never seen that one on an inspiron before :P

Indeed what duartpaul said it can be a problem on your motherbord but also your videocard may be out of sync with you motherboard...

  • I have the same laptop , No problems thow!

  • sweet

  • 'dell' sounds very similar to 'the hell', just kidding lol, as i know, dell is just responsible for selling its logo instead of producing computers.maybe that s why dell has many problems

  • no, my dad has had a dell for about 5 yrs and it runs like new. he got my mom one for her birthday last yr and it still...works like new. I just used a little while ago.

  • It may be a problem with the program tu download music called ARes. If you have this program opened more of 1 hour, you'll have this problem in your screen

  • It looks like an OS problem, try reinstalling, then if it happens again call dell and they will fix it. I Myself have had a 6400 for a year or so now and not had any screen problems.

  • idk if you have the same one i got i have the 1501 an it did that right out of the box but reinstalling the os fixed it at my end

  • new card video & new motherboard

  • try getting a new video card. that might help.

  • well you bought a dell. that was your first problem.

  • I had the same problem with my Dell laptop, too. Looks like Dell laptops just have a really crappy design when it comes to the display. What happened is that the ribbon cable that connects the motherboard to the actual LCD was either ripped or came unplugged from the monitor. Since replacing the motherboard seems to fixed it, it looks like your ribbon cable just came lose on the motherboard's end.

  • weird...

  • ITS A VIRUS

  • i have the same one but it has never happened to me

  • after dell put in a new motherboard the problem didnt return.

  • Espero que no me pase a mi. Cuando la arreglen comentá cual era el problema.

  • it looks like a motherboard problem. u should try to change it. the screen has no problems.

  • i recorded ben10 videos on my psp

  • it looks like its a motherboard problem. u should try to change it. the screen has no problems.

  • I don't think so. I had an old laptop that did exactly the same thing. When it did happen, I just opened and closed the screen until it works again. You probably have faulty wires. (I have plugged an external monitor to check if it was a motherboard problem. It was working like a charm with it.)

  • I have the same one but it has never happened to mine.

  • that is nothing to do with ur laptop its a virus that only effects ur laptop at certain times if u do a virus run it should get rid of it

  • change your os to xp sp3

  • I've had the same trouble with mine. Also got the screen replaced but it didn't fix it. Escalated the call to Dell and they sent a techo around to replace the MoBo. Hope that will fix it.
