Thanks so much Sweetie. Ask your parents for a turkey for your birthday! If you have the land for it.
I think it would be quite hard to domesticate them since I would have to go through at least three or four generations. And I would have to cage them, and then worry about the eggs and predators.
They are wild, and they can now roost in the numerous trees I have for safety at night. The five biggest Toms stay on my property year-round, but the hens come and go.
funniest thing was the same kid accidently hitting himself in the nuts with old people spring loaded work out bar...he held 1 end with his knees and the other with his hands, bent it over and it slipped. the springs were very strong and he was left in the fetal posision wimpering lol less than 10 minutes later i hit him in the nuts by hitting a bouncy ball off the wall and ceiling with a putter...bad night for him
Yes, they normally hatch-out anywhere from 6 to 8 goslings. There are in reality more eggs in the nest than that. Since these geese are so well fed on dry cat food, the goose has about 15 eggs in her nest.
I counted seven cold ones prior to her starting the setting process. They of course will not hatch.
The goslings normally peek their heads out on tax-day, April 15th. Every year! It's quite amazing. I have some very good video I took yesterday; need to put it together. The gander is chasing off deer, and me! I accidently put grain on the bridge!!! That is a no-no!!!
Thanks so much. No one (even friends) ever tell me that! They think the property maintains its "Park-like" condition on its own! LOL! Your comment means a lot to me...Kathy
Well, that's a Canadian for you! Canadian Goose, that is. LOL! Yes, gander's are rather intense this time of year. He pulls tuffs of fur from the deer backs when they try to drink from the pond. Thanks for watching...Kathy

They are really tame. Nice place...healthy woodpile. That's the kinda place that I would love to retire! Thanks for sharing.
Funny I don't have video on it but have watched geese fly into a turkey flock and feed in the same field. Good stuff.
