I'm about half finished reading John Walsh's book "Tears Of Rage" and I must say My heart is bleeding for his family. I Lost a son from a heart defect when he was only 2 months old, and I thought that was the worst kind of pain imaginable...I was wrong..yes it's the worst that happened to me, and I have 3 beautiful healthy children now. but seeing that he was decapitated makes me physically ill. Kids, including myself in that era, were allowed to be a bit more independent because people were simply a bit more trustworthy and society had a more open-door mindset. I was born in '79 and frequently remember my parents and neighbors leaving their doors open in the summer; kids were allowed to play without as much parental supervision, etc.
And this happened in a sears, thank u there security has gotten so much better. Also lil adam, you are the reason my nephew was found after he was taken also with your dad starting that organization, you both have helped many...

To answer alyissaandtaylor's question: Ottis toole said that he choked Adam unconscious because he started to cry. Police asked him if he ever regained consciousness before the beheading and he said no. With the autopsy it was revealed to be done after death. So it is believed that poor little Adam died to asphyxiation.

aw was abandoned by his dad because he felt he would be too busy to properly take care of him so he said so he pulled so teeth, put them in some head and if you look some of the teeth checked out and some did not. We should allow video cameras on every block, GPS chips in every garment a child wears, we should have a fast reaction hit squad of elite men & women who track down abducted children. Once those kids are found & taken away to safety, the abductor should be executed on the spot, NO TRIAL. I'm about half finished reading John Walsh's book "Tears Of Rage" and I must say My heart is bleeding for his family. I Lost a son from a heart defect when he was only 2 months old, and I thought that was the worst kind of pain imaginable...I was wrong..yes it's the worst that happened to me, and I have 3 beautiful healthy children now. but seeing that he was decapitated makes me physically ill. My heart goes out to them. Good on John for the good work he does with AMW. Adam was a beautiful boy

i dont think they will actually ever know who killed this little boy, this is one of the most heartbreaking stories, i just got off work from doing landscaping all day and went to McDonalds and came home and decided to watch his movie, Im a huge advocate for missing children, Love ya little buddy wish i could have met ya, hopefully ill get to meet ya.

It cannot be proven that he ever made this confession, furthermore it can never be proven that he commited this crime. He recantted his confession to this murder more times then he actually admitted to it.

@GamerLifeTV Not exactly. There is conclusive evidence that Jeffrey Dahmer is lined to this homicide. If the case were to be tried today with all the evidence he would "without" a doubt be the prime suspect. The former D.A. of Florida said with all of the evidence that has been gathered in this case over the years that he would try Dahmer for Adam Walshes murder and guarantee a conviction. Dahmers M.O. was not young children, but neither was Ottis Toole's.

What a beautiful boy he is now with our Father in heaven, how sad when adults take adavatage of little ones in anyway, I heard John Walsh speak recently at a seminar Get Motivated and I cryed through his whole story but through his son death he has helped assist in the arrest of thousands of criminals, may God bless John Walsh and family.

I was sitting here looking for "Adam" today. I realized that I've been looking for this video since about noon today. It's now 8:30 pm; it's been 8 and 1/2 hours. I started getting frustrated and then...a rush of "something" took my breath and I thought to myself (I can't find a video how in the hell am I supposed to help find missing children) If I could loan my heart to these parents and take their place for a day just to give them a break from the pain, I would.....but i can't:(

It's true he is lucky to have left this place and is in heaven. People feel sorrow for the way he was taken away. Who knows what kind of horrors he went through before his soul left this cruel evil world? People feel sorrow for his family, they suffered a tremendous loss and heartbreak. I remember watching this story on tv back in the 80's and it still breaks my heart. I can't imagine what I would do if this happened to one of my little ones, it's just so heartbreaking.

I know. It is very scary. It ticks me off when people blame his poor mother for what happened. It wasn't her fault. You can't keep your eyes on your kid 24/7. She was away from him for seven minutes and some people on here act like she left him alone for 7 hours. It's heart breaking what happened to poor little Adam Walsh but it was Otis Toole's fault. Not Mrs. Walsh.

@DMMP28 Very good point, and what people don't realize is that 1981 was a very different time. Kids, including myself in that era, were allowed to be a bit more independent because people were simply a bit more trustworthy and society had a more open-door mindset. I was born in '79 and frequently remember my parents and neighbors leaving their doors open in the summer; kids were allowed to play without as much parental supervision, etc.
