Brigadier General David Lee "Tex" Hill was a hell of a guy, and for many years he was kind enough to allow himself to be interviewed in order for history to be recorded. I have seen and read many of an interview that he has been involved in and his manner had allways been gracious and gratefull with an understated sense of whimsy. He served his country well for nearly thirty years with class and distinction. May we be blessed with more like him. 7/13/1915-10/11/2007 RIP General.

@jaymoe67 Back in 1967 I grew a beard and the Gas co where I worked was after me to shave it off because they claimed I looked like a hippie. So I went to a doctor in Jersey City who turned out to be the ex Air Surgeon of the old AVG or Flying Tigers. Since he had their reunion photos all over his walls. He wrote me the note but asked me what the hell kind of candy assed outfit I worked for?

@norb1937 Amazing how sociol attitudes change over the years, I whear a beard myself, not because of me trying to make a sociol-political statement, but because my skin doesn't react well to being scraped with a razor every day. I still get flack from my Grandmother about wearing it, implying that all men who wear beards are in some kind of secret club (and we have a sinister agenda!!!). I hope to see you at the next "Evil, Bearded Bastards" meeting, bring cookies,I'll bring punch.
