  • Well for this concert, of course everyone was "dressed" since it was a Nobel Peace Prize celebration!! But love them no matter HOW or where they performed! The SONGS are FOREVER!!!! As is a Nobel Peace Prize! Loved them!!! Always will!!!

  • love the man Verdine!

  • i love the fact that this is a formal concert and that people are jammin to the song and ballroom dancing in the aisles

  • Live strong Norway, those terrorist have no love. They need to listen to more EWF.

  • Absolut Fantastic,

    Great Show.

    *CHAPEAU*

  • many can compose great song...but here are the band that can perform really well live...Live is so much fun!

  • timless. best song for me.

  • Those stiff shirts in the crowd actually are joining in and its not even an opera.

  • 0:45 the Crown Princess is clapping off beat as usual.

  • 9 Dislikes? WTF? This is superb!

  • Absolutely one of my favourite songs EVER!!! I didn't like this performance at all tho. Philip Bailey is awesome as always but the guy on lead is pretty ordinary. Totally ruined a killer song. Also thought it was too slow.

  • As much as I love and adore EWF, perhaps I am one of their greatest fans...but have you ever wondered Verdine White is playing live during many of their concerts????? I know I am not the only one who has questioned this....

  • I truly appreciate the young man with the Dred-Locks who sings lead on many of EWF's classic hits, but he is no Maurice White and quite frankly, his voice and stage presence is NOT a good fit for the legendary Earth, Wind and Fire. Public, what are your thoughts????

  • AMAZING.

  • super!!!!

  • grande Philip Baily ...mitico

  • Big question. is this the entire orginal band? is the leader origanal?

  • @BNSF9250 Only 3 originals in this group. Phillip Bailey,Ralph Johnson, and Verdine White.

  • haha how bout Al and Tipper Gore at 0:44

  • i love Earth, Wind & Fire .... But... crazy Nobel concert !

  • when are they coming to england ,i must see verdine and plilip before i die.

  • truly classic

  • It is Got-musicants-angels in Earth ! SUPER !

    WOW-WOW-WOW !!!

  • the song is so infectious..!!! The power of great song and great artist..!

  • EWF bringing the world together with love and music...

    Just like it should be!

  • Finally got to see EWF last year and they were so good. I love listening and watching them. Especially watching Verdine White. It's kind of funny to see the stuffed shirts being asked to stand raise their hands. I think I saw Kim Jung Il in the crowd.

  • Even politicians enjoy Earth, Wind, and Fire.

  • the crew of the concert even dancing! SUPERB lol

  • Phillip Bailey

  • Please support the world´s only imprisoned Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Aung San Suu Kyi.

Subscribe to Burma Campaign UK and US Campaign for Burma.

  • ??? . . wheres the bit after the first chorus thats meant to go "ba-da-da, ba-da-da,ba-da-da,ba-da-da. . . haha if anyone gets that?? :p listen to the record vesion youl see what i mean! its like my favourite part!!!

  • everyone look so happy

most beautiful scene I've ever watched!

  • ITS SOOOO FUNNY & SO COOL TO SEE THE STIFF CORPORATE TYPES DANCING TO EARTH WIND & FIRE, LET ALONE TIPPER & AL GORE OMGOODNESS!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLO

  • Al Gore. Dork.

  • what a boring audience

  • At 3:00, that woman almost dances out of her dress!

  • @hankaaron1961 I saw that Too!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA

  • these people grew up with that music. most of these geeks probably have never seen a live performance of their favorite band before.

  • Where is Maurice these days?

  • This song was in the top 10 in the world charts in 1979

  • Funk music + white people = FAIL!

  • @kopitikop racist

  • STAGE DIVE! STAGE DIVE!

  • i love earth wind and fire...

  • White stuck up people are sooooo funny !

  • 10000000X that most of the so call R&B "bands" these days.

  • i agree...

  • If this doesn't make you move, you're clinically dead.

  • @Geeljasjes

    I agree, well said

  • Let's dance ♪

  • what are you doing tonight?

I don't know, maybe I'll go to the Nobel Prize Ceremony and dance to September... lmao

  • Simplesmente... OS MELHORES!!!! THE BEEEEEEEEEEST!!!

  • No matter what type of crowd is in the house, EWF sure knows how to move an audience. Now that's real music at its finest.

  • mad respect for these guys, they really know how to make music

  • Al Gore at 2:29 shaking his little tush lol rofl

  • @thagodfather007

    what little tush?

  • genius band of all time period

  • If you liked this song, please do check out Maurice White's performance of September Live in Japan on youtube. I just wished the Nobel academy had invited EW&F when Maurice was still performing. His voice has a special quality - it is not only strong, but, smooth and nuanced as well. I really feel his music brought a unique fusion of R&B, Funk and Spirituality that somehow inspires feelings of love and peace (while making you want to get up and dance as well). Viva la Earth Wind & Fire!

  • The conductor acted as he's the

    member of EWF!

No more conducting it's feel so good!

  • They aced it !!

  • Vengan a México por lo que más quierannnnn..............

  • Wow things back then were so much better,

this is way better than screaming drunk people, and artists who can't even sing,

this is a really nice performance!

  • EWF enthuse everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hahaha, its so funny to see people dressed so formal while dancing "September" hahaha, definitely Earth, Wind and Fire and their songs are TIMELESS......

  • What the heck difference does it make if they are christian or not? Jeez, some people are such buzz-kills! Earth Wind and Fire still ROCK after all these years! I've loved them since the early 70's and they STILL make me jump to my feet and dance!

Godspeed, Earth Wind and Fire! :)

  • Veredine White (the bassist) is the happiest man alive

  • al gore the stiff dancing?

ewf must really be goooood to get him to dance

  • One of those nightclub floor fillers. Always gets me off my seat.

  • John Paris singing the Bridge?

  • Yes, It is John Paris singing the bridge, he sounds great!

  • the bassist must be the happiest person alive

  • @thenameiwantedwasnta lol, Verdine is a high-energetic person he loves to dance while he's playing!

  • essa música é absurda de boa.

  • I still find Verdine a creep.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, but he is still one hell of a bassist.

  • i wud like to thank to the one who took the vdeo of the EWF and the one who filed it in the youtube.Since Maurice White is not anymore in the scene,i would like to hear of Fred White to sing more and that Verdine White would sing with the gr.too since they r the brothers of Maurice.thanks

  • Maurice is still active in the studio and the production booth. Fred hasn't been with EWF since 1987 when Sonny Emory took over. The current drummer with EWF is John Paris.

  • Hello Baseman.the EWF members had their concert here in the phils. few daysago.i did not had the chance o see them.the tickets and i have also work.i feel sorry for it

  • haha parehas tayo kabayan

  • Is EWF active in the music scene until NOW 2009?

    I love their music!..

    are they christians?

  • I'm going to see them in Jacksonville this Thursday(10/8/09).

  • I don't think that it is important if they are christians or not. The important is what they do and the energy they share with us through their music.

  • EWF are true giants of popular music. What they have achieved is incredible. They taught us how to funk and boogie to the very very highest standard and influenced any musician who loved this genre. beethoven and Bach would have flipped out to these guys. The joyous vibe they generate is simply undefinable. Its as if the ywere sent down from heaven to make this dour planet resonate with life. Thank god they ve kept going and are still around.

  • they did that on my birthday! sweet.

  • is that the original singer...i dont think so

  • Yes, that is Philip Bailey, the original singer. And Verdine White, the original bassist, and Ralph Johnson, the original percussionist brought to the front to sing. Reggie Young, Trombonist and Gary Bias have been with the band for over 20 years. Most of the others for several years. It's the best band in the world! Superb musicianship!

  • Earth Wind & Fire is over 30 years old and still popular! :-)

  • Incredibly, 2009 marks the 40th anniversary of EWF generating great music. Their sound is unique with a combination of soul, funk, rock, and so forth. Very rare to see a musical group compose different genres of music into one. Truly one of the all time greats..EWF!

  • I LOVE EWF - i hope they come back for a tour to europe.

  • I'm proud of EWF..I was smiling all through this!

  • EWF tends to make people want to dance !!

  • Phillip Bailey lead falsetto singer is original, Verdine White on bass is original, Maurice White has MS and has not sang with group in years..

  • Ralph Johnson is also from pretty early on I think. He might even have been the original drummer, or he might have joined a bit later on.

  • He is indeed the original drummer, brought to the front by Maurice White to sing.

  • Coool, thanks for the info.

  • im just curious

what happend to the original ewf

  • The performance was amazing

    But the audience was priceless!

  • Thanks for postin the spectacular performance!

  • Wheres Wallace White????

  • it's kool to see the audience jamming with the music, and they're all pretty much old too. prob listened to this music back in the 70s. old rich people getting out of their seats to dance. hehehe. funny.

    It makes people happy!!

    Earth Wind and Fire rules!!

  • diciembre, el mejor mes del año!!

  • Une Grande Spectacle.... De Premiere Classe!!!!

  • Grandioso!! Es mi cancion de toda la vida.

Great!! Is the song of my life.

  • omg, me too.

  • Hope you mean that in a good way..because I was there;P

  • they should give Nobel prize for music...EW&F definitely deserves one!

  • Have they ever changed singer? Is the same as in the 70's?

  • Yes, Maurice White has since left Earth Wind and Fire. He has retired because he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Never will be the same as it was back then but still good :).

  • Parkinson's Disease???

  • Comment removed

  • Isn't that him at 0:37 ?

  • @timbolepage He hasn't retired from the group, he is still in charge, he just doesn't tour anymore.

  • Tipper was gettin' in the groove at @0:44. Al said "See, I can too, Tipper. But let's be careful not to -warm- things up too much" at @2:29. The couple at @2:34 has the right idea. The band was amazing and the crowd was alive!

  • for some reason you cant forget this song

  • UNBELIEABLE

  • LOL AT 1:03 JAHAHAa

  • They took that very fancy event and turn it into a party... just amazing!

  • Sounds like a studio verson and the audience is awesome as well..:P

  • Definitely. Great band!

  • awsome!

  • Absolutely 5 stars, fantasy play.

  • The most corpse like white audience at a music concert? Dude... forget about it. These people make middle age Australian audiences look like wakes.

  • australian audience????? get you head out of your ass

  • take my place, please, you'd fit right in

  • Have another drink anyway. haha

  • Stiffest crowd of white people ever. This one is a boogie tune without a doubt. Posted by a white person. Gore..back away from the buffet.

  • Yeah seeing the Energy in Motion "E-Motion" he he well thats another group. lol They should let Ralph Johnson come out more to sing Maurice's parts...Im gonna keep saying that till I see it manifest...Peace.

  • I'll remember the 21st night of every September. Not too many people can say they have a song about their birthday.

  • Watching the band having fun is what makes them so good. Especially the Verdine and the Horn Section. PARTY ONNN

  • that is the most stiff-dancing people i've ever seen in a room

  • they got the beat !!! neverending song...

  • puro groove no no no la mejor banda junto con tower of power

  • I LOVE SEPTEMBER!<3

  • u can't stay on your chair .. i have to jump around and dance ! PERFECT ! LOVE IT

  • Yeaaaaaah! more more more!

  • Probably the best live version of "September". All the other versions are too fast.

  • Amazing! Absolutely amazing! Sounds just like it did 30 years ago: Brilliant! Sad that Maurice couldn't be there to savour the moment along with the boys (due to Parkinsons Disease)

  • OMG! I didn't know why he left the band... so sad.

  • Talking about Maurice? In the late 1990s White was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and in 1995 he decided to retire from touring.

  • Love EWF... love watching the suits gettin' DOWN!

  • I have no more words! No comment!

  • "September" and "Sun Goddess" are my cellphone ringtones!!

  • Look where these fellas have gone trough the years! Hail HWF!!!!

  • damn they took long to get up! I had to watch the three nobel videos just to see it!

  • What's funny is they seemed happy to get the ok to stand like they wanted to stand but wanted to be polite and not block the people behind them.

  • This was fantastic!! I loved seeing all the suits letting their hair down dancing and clapping. The best part was seeing old stiff guy Al Gore out there clapping (but not swaying). EW&F still have it!!

  • Earth,Wind and Fire will make you tap your feet. just watch your feet next time you listen to them :P

  • I actually met Philip in the lobby of Oslo plaza hotel about 1 hour before he went on stage. He was so friendly to stop for a short conversation and he wrote his autograph on my sons drumstick. (My son got a pair of drumsticks from former ewf drummer David Romero about 9 years ago) I was allowed to take his picture and wished him the best for the performance. After the show we also met saxplayer Gary Bias, a really nice man who talked to us for about 10 minutes before we said goodbye.

  • i get so happy when i listen to this song

  • Oh man...that song is incredible...they are the greatest bänd ever!
