i think its a little to much agogic! in "jazz" (even if its classical) thereshould always be abeat to be felt. this interpretation could be more "layed back".. cooler.. i have the feling of Rachmaninoff more than Gershwin! But well-played, of course.
As a member of the orchestra, she was perhaps my favorite soloist of the season. She performs her music with such energy and passion while at the same time contrasting that with a deeper introspective soul searching, such as in the opening measures.
Cool performance and very passionate. I don't have the score on me but I'm sure at 4:30 the hands should be 2 octaves apart, to produce a Shostakovitch sound. I could be wrong. Can we see the whole concerto when it's performed? Cheers.
