My suggestion for the next malaysian movie would be a movie of our history way way back. "Parasmeswara" , "Malacca",. lets see whether they can pull it off or not.

I USED to be a fan of SHUMI. And yes i agree with you that LAYAR LARA was one of her best work ever. But as for pontianak and the others that came after is just absolutely strong. If your a big fan of SHUMI im sure you would of notice how her screenplay and dialogue of LAYAR LARA and PONTIANAK is absolutely soooo different that the direction she is going with the dialogue is absolutely not acceptable to me. She is not a good story teller as she once was!

2 major powerful elements that deceived it MAJOR PLOT! It made its sub plot the MAJOR PLOT where supposedly the MAJOR PLOT was to be the main issue of the film! Me as an audience i would of felt to be made a fool to believe that i would be expecting a story more towards the SAKA itself but not about a TRANSEXUAL! It mislead its viewers. ANd that is never a good thing!

Firstly there's no content! And don't get me started on WARIS! I'm not trying to say that i look down upon our local acheivements or even quality, i look down on SHUMI's directorial mentallity on how to direct film nowadays. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the cast. Shumi's movies weren't as good as they were way back in the days!

why shame? just because everything is local we hafto support it? america churns out trash and high quality films as their main export. but do we see them backing everyone one of it? sad. i'd support our sports team wholehearted regardless of their achievement but shumi has disappointed one too many times.
