I had some trouble when I first started. I had to play with it a little bit until I did not get the Error message anymore. Try pointing the arrow a little bit to the left of the 1st gray plastic piece; more towards the needle instead of the gray plastic piece.

Could be that your bottom front rail has some dirt on it.
See the rail on the bottom that your front lock moves on - the one that has the square holes? If any of those holes have the slightest bit of dust or dirt, you will get an error message. I don't remeber what number the error is. Use a toothbrush and brush that rail. See if that helps. Also, Passap receommended (when they still existed) that you do not oil this bar - this prevents dirt from sticking to it.
