I was listening to DM when i was in the womb... I love their work, and i find a new versions of their songs quite refreshing, this is am awesome version, and i do believe it keeps the feeling of the song... the remake album called "For The Masses" was done a few years back where bands took classic DM songs and they redid them, its fab to listen to and has bands such as ramstien doing "stripped" the cure doing a version of "world in my eyes", the album brings their work to a younger audience

Depeche Mode did grunge very well on their later albums. This absolutely wrecks the quiet beauty and sparse texture of the original song. Everything is too heavy. It's still a great song, but the wrong orchestration can wreck it. I can't imagine being in a lover's arms enjoying the silence when he's shouting like that.

I just watched the Vampire Diaries today (DVR) I had this song before on itunes (Depeche Mode's version) and after listening to it on the Vampire Diaries i couldn't stop listening to it.
