  • Rocken the Ben Davis! Deezam that'd oldschool!

  • SKIP TO THE GOD DAMN HOW TO DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i got 2 10" subs for 119$, it comes with all the chords and a built in amp, 800 watts too its pretty fucken awesome

  • The title is correct. A woofer is the speaker itself, a sub woofer is the woofer and enclosure.

  • @mumbojumbojj nope

  • @spennygonzo actually, yup

  • gave me some more ideas for enclosure styles for car audio, but did it really cost $60 for two?

  • I made my Alpine Type R 12" enclosure out of mdf and it only really cost me 40 or so dollars and works like a charm, nice to see a different take on enclosure building though.

  • you should call it how to make a subwoofer enclosure not how to make a subwoofer

  • @iintro79 yeah, because you really thought they were going to build an actual subwoofer from scratch diy style right?? LOL ok

  • 50 bucks for 2? and this is cheap lol head over to sonic electronix and get 2 boxes for 40 with free shipping lol and you dont have to spend 5 hours and risk screwing it up

  • This is HOW TO BUILD A SUBWOOFER ENSLOSURE, not a subwoofer itself.

Whoever these guys are, sure do not now ANYTHING About car audio.

  • 6:15 Words to live by...

  • Ok first no letting us here it and second u can make ur own or u can go to Canadian tire and but a ACTUALLY box for the same price-_- and third i thought u were gonna build the sub/amp/box but once again you let me down-_-

  • Umm...would have been nice to see some results. 15:00 and nothing....thanks...i guess.

  • less talking get to point

  • I wanted to build the subwoofer.... Not buy one and build an enclosure....

  • @SkateSolutions haha me too. searches always seem to lead to enclosures. i wanna build the actual speaker.

  • @toneman816 Haha i know right! I can find a few that people build the sub until it goes to actually putting the electrical part in... Arg. lol

  • IS THERE THE RIGHT TERM? AMPERAGE!!! HEY DUDE STUDY OHMS LAW!

  • fuck dont waste your time with this nonsense logtech is cheaper and at least u get a warranty this is a heap

  • that doesnt look easy att all

  • these guys are idiots, please nobody listen to this its completely wrong.

  • They spelled system wrong.

  • @NcHalfrican they did that on perpose

  • @OneStopHackingShop

I realize this, I was joking...

  • @NcHalfrican Lmao you #FAIL

  • @WeezyProductionz

Apparently all the Lil'Wayne music has made you unable to understand sarcasm...

  • @NcHalfrican its not Weezy as in Lil wayne fuck face. I am a music producer. Once again you #FAIL

  • @WeezyProductionz

Haha, I'm sure Lil'Wayne in no way affected your choice in the name...*more sarcasm*

And everyone is a music producer these days, so don't talk so highly of yourself....

  • spaz

  • Ok so you use Plywood becouse MDF is not stiff but carbord tubing is? Thats retarded.

  • @vinylknaster MDF is not strong, just has mass. Best enclosure material is concrete.

  • @vinylknaster MDF is dense, Concrete would be better for the enclosure. Of course Patrick said something along the lines of poly fill make the enclosure seem larger. Poly fill dampens the cabinet space make the bass less muddy. Bass is made muddy do to enclosures expanding and contracting IIRC. Poly fill from everything I heard and read is not as good as fiber glass.

  • I'm amazed they dodged using duck tape and cardboard.

  • these guys are idiot! MDF is like 20 bucks a sheet. NOT EXPENSIVE, oh and if you are going to drop 175 on a sub, why not have a nice box to go with it?

and another thing, plywood is no where near stiffer than mdf. what are these guys smoking 3/4" is recommended for subwoofer enclosures.

  • yeah u can get just as a shity box at walmart for the same price

  • Wew well that was lengthy but I gotta say well put together vid:3 Lol

  • Before you attempt to build a subwoofer you should also use some software to model how different subwoofer speakers perform inn different sized boxes. A great freeware application to use is "WinISD Pro". It'll not only show you how your speakers will perform, it'll also show you how a "Linkwitz Transform EQ" will improve the low end performance.

My subwoofer system cost me about half of what comparable commercial home theater sub cost and it sounds better than anything I heard in the stores.

  • Another quick and easy way to get a great home theater sub is to use a pair of sealed car subwoofer boxes for the woofers you have selected and then build a "Linkwitz Transform EQ" to help keep the speaker output fairly even from 100Hz all the way down to 20Hz. To power your subwoofers I strongly recommend using a good high current amplifier so that you will have plenty of power to drive your subwoofers at low frequencies. A good amp can be picked up on Ebay for $200-$300.

  • message to the 2 queefs....... if i wanted to watch u two dics fastforward thru the entire process i wud have dne it myself.... complete waste of time......

  • waste of time!!!!! wheres the sub?????????

  • just flagged

  • this is boring....

  • this was a big bowl of shit

  • I've also had a idea to use the sonatube at 15 feet but it won't fit in the room so I planed a 10 foot idea. Still haven't got around to building it.

12 hours LMAO circle edge okay!

yes 1970's from the loft LOL not a good idea at all LOL More like The Sub Bass Inferno! LOL

  • Cheap and easy subwoofer? NO! Cheap and shitty enclosure. The subwoofer was built a long time ago.

  • jl audio !!!! yeah !!!!

  • yeah for my truck it aint gonna fit

  • imma do this with the subs from ym home system i found.... got a 12' sub and i have the tube in the garage....

  • Even if you do have a computer power supply laying around (how many people do....seriously) you still have to buy the amp and sub, on the cheap side $300.... and thats talking wal-mart stuff. You can get a Velodyne 10" sub w/ 200 watt amp for $349... in the box! Just plug in and go. The time and materials are more than the extra $50 you spend on making your own. Unless you are an audiophile.... only a fraction of a percent of the population are audiophiles... its not worth it. AT ALL

  • lot too learn my young jedi... quit while your ahead....

  • definately not cheaper than buying a pre made home audio subwoofer. you still have to buy a sub and an amp, and home power is 120v so you have to buy a power converter to run your car audio amp in your house... LAME

  • @nstald you can use a computer power supply if you have one laying around. Thats how i got my txi 600 working in my house

  • @oerllikon2 wait you used a psu? i have a couple of those how many watts do they put out also whats your setup do you have a vid? im asking because im building a 30 inch sub. reason you ask? because i can!

  • you thank your sponsers so much that i had to stop watching this video. you are just too trashy. :(

  • mdf expensive? no...and the way they doubled up on the end caps, they just needed two more sides to make a real box. i can understand experimenting and playing around, but don't pass it off as being a lot cheaper, when it's not. the real cost is the labor involved in building it and the tube doesn't make it any easier

  • omg no sub in this size can go down til 15 hz (on the website at 2:35 )

get something better for your ears. eminence kappa for example. but the idea of the bass-tube is good.

like 15 years ago bose ahd a wave cannon. they thought its a weapon... (12 foot long, not allowed to use in US)

  • eminence kappa which model? as most are useless as subs.

eminence lab 12 is a much better one to use as it has huge xmax.

  • @MrDellee93 trust me these subs hit 15 hz + or - 3 db. Dr. . Rythmik audio has a 12 inch sbu that can hit 14 hz + or - 3 db. Both these companies are not known for massive SPL such as SVS or Epik but when it comes to SQ they are on par with JL Fathoms.

  • The sub doesn't hit the lows, the box does. ;)

  • I would like to see you stick some audio cables to a BOX without the Sub, and hear it hit the lows...

  • they know that they made the box not the actual sub right?

  • wait wait wait plywood stiffer then mdf? is he fucking retarded?

  • @GarettLong they are retarded, ha ha

  • depends what grade and thickness of plywood vs mdf though.

25mm high quality MDF vs 25mm baltic birch 15 ply, the ply is stiffer and A LOT stronger, as that grade and thickness is used for touring grade pa enclosures.

  • I can see that. But I still prefer MDF and I still think he's wrong.

  • do you know quite how crap mdf is good marine ply is a million times better than any mdf

  • Its a matter of opinion and as far as acoustics is concerned, I prefer the sound I get with an MDF box. If strength of the box is really an issue then you can always double up the MDF and or build more bracing so I'm just going to stick with it man.

  • @GarettLong fair enough, each to their own i guess!

  • yes but a million time more expansive

  • TOOLS!

  • $15? my gaming chair was 31 pounds dude and it was like $6 to ship lol

  • kikers are the best and they are cheapp.

  • What the fuck? yiu guys didnt even make a subwoofer, you just made a box for it

  • To the clows in this clip, Pywood and MDF are dirt cheap. What do you make $5 hour?

What is expensive is exotic woods. Not MDF or PLYWOOD,not even Russian Baltic Birch.

And use a jig for your router, freehanding gives amateurish results at best.

  • @KlipschEAR Yes it is, your right man haha

  • @KlipschEAR did it hurt u so much that they don't use klipsch box? that they try to help people not spend a fortune on a stupid klipsch box or others?

  • @KlipschEAR you need to learn to spell, go back to school er ask ur mommy if she can afford it first.

  • "I'll remind you of a certain project that took you twelve hours to complete so nyeh!"

    Cheers, good job!

  • SUCKY WOOFER FOR A GOOD AMP

  • @droopyloc1 i don't think that's how it works

  • Very Cheap Subs Are using PaperAs Bass refles hole xd

  • does an amp work with one pre out

  • does this encloser actually sound good? compared to other types?

  • ya it has a deeper bass than vented but vented has more air going through it

  • you can tell this video is old, since they reference amps @ 120 dollars not being "200 to 300" watts. You can get 200-300 now for 120 bucks from tons of websites......

  • off brands they will bump for a month after that you might burn out those cheaply made amps that push out alot of wattage

  • posted march 23 2009

  • It may have been posted M/23/09 but the video is indeed old.

I can buy a 200watt amp for about 70 bucks today. And it was only about 10-20 dollars more back in march. Video is old fucking beans.

  • I have made MDF enclosures that are held together with nothing but wood glue. One has survived for five years in the trunk of a mazda with no problems. The unit was even a ported box so it had plenty of bass. Usually using finish nails to hold the box together a little better works great too. The unit in my car now is only a 50 watt amp with a junky sony 12" (under $100) that does 120dB. Volume level is heavily tied to the enclosure, but a better speaker does help.

  • u didnt test it, i watch this shit 4 nuthin

  • they did but it wasnt a good demo

  • lol the end

  • yeah, this is definitely a tough build and costs a pretty penny. The materials for the enclosures are cheap, yes, but the driver and preferred chassy amps are REALLY expensive. I'm lookin at 400$ from Parts-express (which is cheap).

  • WTF............Cheap my as*

and he doesn't even compare it

  • GOD DAM IT!!!!!!! This video has a misleading title...it says "Cheap and Easy Subwoofer - Buld your own" and its not even about how to make a subwoofer just how to make a freggin box....ANY DUMBASS CAN MAKE A BOX!

  • yeah home depot.. mdf 8' sheet like 25 bucks... but you have to know what your doing with the stuff or it splits when you screw it together... but other than that.. its ok.. sonotube would save time though..

  • or you predrill holes...before you just put a screw in..but yes you will need screws for particle board or it will just keep screwing in and not catching on the wood

  • thats why you dont screw it together

  • Who, that's a lie.

MDF is cheap, its dirt cheap.

  • this is how to build an enclosure, NOT A SUBWOOFER!!!

  • How long will that car battery last without an alternator?

  • i had a 500 watt rms amp powering 2 12's on my bicycle with a 800 amp battery for 4 hours before i had to charge it

  • nice

  • You Swine's you know I'm going to have to build on now for my media centre like i don't have enough to do lol grate tutorial thanks

  • wooot!

  • lol...
