I remember when the lefties complained about a white man (Michael Bates) played Ranji. As it happens, Bates was born in India and spoke fluent Hindi before he could speak any English. He also pointed out that the other two East Indians were from Pakistan and Bangladesh, so he was the only real Indian in the cast!
