You think I'm a sexist but feminists don't give a damn about a mans rights. That's neither equality or compassion. That IS sexism, feminists don't give a damn about anyone else other than themselves. They leave everyone else to hang and dry.
some feminists dont give a dman about a mans rights !! and so what forget them go to the feminists that do!! just because something is inconvenient once u guys simply dismiss it as all bad
and most of the time u guys just pre judge it first - u dont even know any feminists but because u hear a few things and are afraid of some change u side with the latter
The feminists huh? Give me a list of things that feminists have actually done for men, then I can begin to belive what you say. Even then, there are many things still ahead of you to prove before you can talk about how feminism is about equality. If feminists are about equality, why are they not humanists? Men are not particularly priviliged but women quickly are becoming priviliged. A court will automatically award custody to a mother if she is not crazy, thats sexist.
Well, sexual harassment laws are broad and include someone who could be "tuning in" or "passing by", totally tramples the idea of freedom of speech. I'm not talking about the cases where women are told they have to sleep with a co-worker to advance their career, I'm talking about the conversations that can be "construed as being sexual" when we all use sexual language, it's part of being with other fellow humans. Child support, vaginalimony, corrupted courts thanks to feminists ect.
Sexual harassment goes both ways. It was developed by men in corporations; I wouldn't consider it the result of a militant feminist rampage against men. I get what you're saying, though.
If the courts are corrupted by feminists, then they had male feminists by their side passing their suggestions right on into law-books. The militant feminists you bash did not invent child custody, and they certainly did not force it onto the court system. Do you have data?
Yea, I have proof that feminists forced the federal government to give an oversite for the individual states and ensure that parents, they don't care which gender, get compensated for making child support payments. But since women initiate almost all divorces, they are in favor of treatment by the court system. This would not happen without feminism.
I am not against the woman's right to vote and whatever, but you don't need feminism to do so. Susan Anthony was a racist as well as a sexist, she said that she wouldn't support civil rights because womens rights need to be recognized first. She was a loudmouth that didn't get anything real accomplished, not as much as the first college educated women of the United States anyways. No other country before the 1900's could claim they educated women as much as the United States (Approx. 40%).
Susan B. Anthony certainly wasn't perfect, and the reason they opposed the civil rights movement was because Abolitionist Groups would not let women join - - - hence they realized, how can we fight for someone else's rights when we don't even have our own? I'm not saying I think that way, but unfortunately that's where they were coming from. After the Civil War, they had to start from scratch.
Regardless of who "won" women the right to vote, it would have happened under the pretenses (cont)
(cont)...that women deserved the same political representation and rights as men. Whether you call that feminism or not is against the point. I honestly don't give a damn about the term "feminism". But, I certainly care about equal rights.
How would women have gained the right to vote if it hadn't been for women's rights activists and protesters? Men at that time were certainly not willing to just "come around". Women's Suffrage had to be fought for, so feminism was inherently needed.
Did I ever say the women's sufferage movement wasn't a great thing? Of course it was, I agree with equality. Feminism doesn't care about equality, they care about female rights. I strongly disagree with the statement that feminism was inherintly needed, the woman's sufferage movement didn't secure the rights for colored people to vote, it was not about equality.
Zoey-your name means life. That's a beautiful name.
By the way, I'm pro-life. That means I believe in life for the not-yet-born, and those already walking, whomever they may be.
I'm also a believer in biblical equality, which, in many people's eyes, makes me a feminist.
There are a lot of different kinds of feminists out there. You might even agree with some of their ideas, so maybe you should consider before making a general statement like that.
Very nicely put. I agree. There are a million different kinds of feminism at varying degrees, and it truly means something different to each woman. Whether she is battling an eating disorder, is a victim of domestic abuse, is seeking affordable birth control, fighting for equal pay for equal work, or simply enjoys the benefits of wearing pants (thanks to feminists!)....feminism surely has its place in all of our lives.
Interesting. The pastor says he doesn't see opposition to feminism. All you have to do is look at the comments on Youtube videos with a feminist label to see all sorts of vilification of people who call themselves feminist. No intelligent discussion. Not even polite, passionate debate. Straight up name-calling and violent hate speech against feminists.
I think they basically prove the point that this is a civil rights issue.
@Leetah36 Wow, there is hate towards feminist, because its fucked up alot of lives, due to. Single mother parenting (I am a living victim of) unfair divorces that throw money at the women, and mooore. You will not use logic in this situation, your weapon is propaganda
@Leetah36 Accusation against feminists occurs because when you adopt an ideological label, you make yourself a representative of all of that ideology. Not just the parts that you like.
Feminist ideology at its central core is hate based and prejudicial. The problem is not that they champion for womens rights. Feminists are wrong because they view masculinity as a disease that must be cured, it's radical elements are totally commited to the disempowerment and de-construction of men.

Feminism transcends cultural borders. It's not just an "American" thing.
Didn't you know that?
