Utah had plenty of shots at the title how about in 94 and 95 when they lost to the dream, how about in 96 lost to the Supersonics, how about in 99 and 00... man I'm not calling the Jazz choke jobs but Kobe and Shaq won 3 titles and the Pacers were a damn good team in 00. The Lakers beat them and that Pacers team was closer to beating Jordan than anybody.

The Lakers played in a weaker era. Beating the Nets is not much of an accomplishment.

Playing against the Dynasty Bulls is another matter.

Further, the Lakers are lucky Utah got drained on talent when they did.

LA matched up terribly with the Jazz. And the results show that.

Just look how much trouble a destitute man's Stockton and Malone caused LA: the Kings had to get screwed six ways to Sunday by the refs before the Lakers could take them down.

And Bibby and Webber sucked compared to Stockton and Malone.

@sunshinebutmorerain blow me dude. utah's 2 finals runs happened with perfect timing in the west. the kobe shaq lakers weren't experienced enough, seattle fucking imploded, and suddently utah was a 60 win team. they were good for the whole 90s dude, and they never fucking won anything. malone and stockton are 2 of the 25 greatest of all time. but get a clue man, the kobe and shaq teams were better. thats not my opinion. thats absolute fact

Yea, people have steotypes. In the state od Utah there are four types of people. 1 stach Mormons. 2 Jack mormons inactivate.3 former Mormons 4 the people who don't want any thing to do with the church. For two- half hours. Utah becomes on the former mormons are not the outcasts. That's why the Jazz are important part of UTah

This series was only so close because of Utah being worn down by the schedule -- 19 games in 23 nights to close out the season (something no other team that season or any other ever had to play through) -- and, from that, redundant or additive, accumulating a bunch of injuries.

Then, you factor in Stockton's injury courtesy of Webber -- resulting in his shot disappearing (sequel to what DRob did to John just before the 96 WCF v Sea) -- and it's no wonder the Jazz went down in the next round.
