  • At the end, Popeye makes his Pappy think he built the boat.

  • Poppy in 2011, 170 and still going strong

  • @Ivanatis If this actually took place in 1940 the same year it was made, Poopdeck Pappy would have been born in 1841. Is he really going strong or is he just saying that because he doesn't want to admit his weaknesses?

  • @Ivanatis In 2012 this year, he's probably 171 and might still be going strong or not.

  • I love the creative Mechanical Engineering shown in Popeye episodes :)

  • Aww... Popeye's nice to his dad. ;)

  • In this one, Poopdeck Pappy doesn't want to admit his weakness.

  • 2:00-2:05 Pappy wants to fight with Popeye like Bluto

  • I'm not sure Jack Mercer did Pappy for Goonland. In that cartoon Pappy sounds

    like Betty Boop's Grampy.

  • There's A Re-Dubbed Version Of This Cartoon!

    C. Martin Croker-Popeye, Poopdeck Pappy

  • Every single time Pappy tries to build that boat, he literally falls asleep on the job. XD

  • @31operafan That's right, he really is too old. He's 99.

  • Jack Mercer used a lower voice for Poopdeck Pappy in this cartoon than the one he did in Popeye the Sailor in Goonland.

  • @jasobres I have noticed that. I don't know why he changed the voice all of a sudden.

  • 1:00 love the song!
