it cleary said on the ebay listing it was a charger made macbook and had nothing to do with apple

it looks like the apple one but lighter and cheaper feeling

i live in hk, and we dont rip off people by making fake things, we actually make them for people who do not want to waste so much money, we do not plan to scam people, but when bastards want to make money, they scam people online and that is why people say things from hongkong is all fake. We actually have many official things in hongkong, but people do not want to waste too much money, because in hk, those docks cost around $180HK, and that is a lot for just a stupid dock.

The second one that kind of / sort of works is performing as expected.

It has an audio output connector. Any device that gets audio through the dock connector needs to have an Apple authentication chip to avoid seeing the message. You can always dismiss the message.

Even more annoying is that many authenticated iPod products generate the message. Apple forces accessory makers to buy a more expensive iPhone authentication chip. Even my Sony A2DP stereo Bluetooth adapter generates the message.

This is the reason Apple refuses to include A2DP / AVRCP profile support on the iPhone. If the iPhone conformed to an established compatibility standard, other manufacturers could make compatible accessories without paying a cent to Apple.
