  • Lovely! : )

  • cool

  • Just Great .. Thanks for this .. Years ago I took a few years in a Bagpipe band and this was always played in the middle of a Scotland the Brave set . Thanks again ..

  • Hi Guy.

I play this more as a lament, but yes you are right. When I lived in Peterhead I heard likewise; "Scotland the Brave" being played as a quick march, "Rowan Tree" as a slow march.

  • It sure is a lovely tune/song. Who made your concertina - it looks great. Where might I be able to acquire one? If you fancy a listen to our version of the song, check out "Crest of Gordon". Happy listening

  • Thanks for the link, and your comment.

This concertina was made by Colin Dipper; one of the all-time best makers. He currently has a waiting list of about three years, but I can supply his contact details if you wish.

By the way, I waited 9 years, 11 months and 1 week for my instrument, but this was a while ago!

  • Great! What's the name of this song?

  • Rowan Tree is a traditional Scottish tune.
