Why the fuck do people always talk about artists they hate on other artists' videos? You don't have to shit on someone's work to praise another's. Just listen to the shit, fuck.
@xx123angiee There is no rule. Dubstep's roots are founded in experimentation. That's the trouble with 95% of "dupstep" made today. It's made with no imagination and pretty much to a set formula by kids with little skill and a pirate copy of FLStudio, because all their mates and their mum have jumped on the bandwagon. The only reason this has a drop at 0:55 is because it was made in 2006, and visionaries like Skream were still finding their feet.
@automat3000 There is a rule. More of a formula of sorts. As most dubstep tracks come in drum/rhythm patterns of 8, these sets of drums are then repeated 8 times to give a peak build up. At 140 bpm (dubstep tempo) these 64 beats drop after 55 seconds. Simple math.
@DrBawslap Real music is not mathS. Real music is art. Most of the best dubstep over the last few years doesn't stick to this rule because the proper producers (not youtube wannabes) carried on down the path they started on. To make experimental electronic music that sounds like little else; not imitating what happens to be cool at that particular moment. See Untold, Pearson Sound, Scuba, Kode9, FaltyDL, Addison Groove, James Blake, Burial, Joy Orbison, Mount Kimbie, Martyn, Joe etc.
@automat3000 I couldn't agree more. Music has the artists soul and passion. It's a labour of love man. I was purely giving an explanation as to why the majority of dubstep songs 'drop' on 0:55. Real musical is beautiful. This is real music.
@automat3000 most of them are american and therefore make your point invalid. fucking americans ruin everything. sure i like music moving forward. but they had to make everything thrash, and moshy when dubstep was all about mellow bass and beats.
@barstuard Good on ya bruv. Stay strong and enjoy the little things. I've been where you are, and to a large extent I still am. Music is what keeps me sane. One day I'm gonna get my own back, and I hope you do too. Don't let nobody bring you down. They've fuckin won if they do. Until then, keep ur chin up and keep on skankin!
@iDylDubstep Er, it's on Skream's first album, released in 2006. You have dubstep in your username and you didn't know that?? Blimey. Please, educate yourself with the basics, and get to know some real dubstep. Everybody that has even a passing interest in dubstep should know such a seminal album. It's like someone who's into hip-hop never even hearing Illmatic.
@automat3000 Christ.Sure I don't know everything about older dubstep, doesn't mean I don't appreciate it or like it any less. I'm probably pretty young compared to you and back when this was released I didn't even know what electronic music was. You obviously haven't been on a channel like UKF or VitalDubstep because you would shit yourself if you saw the kids there who wanna buttfuck skrillex and the likes. They don't even know who Skream is, they think skrillex invented dubstep.
@iDylDubstep Yeah I've been on UKF once and I wish I never had. It's a sad affair. Sorry my comment was harsh. Props for seeking out the real shit. It's a hell of a lot more than 95% of kids who've jumped on the bandwagon are doing. Skrillex is the fucking antichrist as far as I'm concerned, and represents everything wrong with the scene. But that doesn't mean the underground isn't still alive. If you want more good stuff check out Headhunter, 2562, RSD, Scuba. Those are just a few.
@automat3000 Yeah skrillex is the worst and people call me a hipster or whatever if I voice my opinion on why he's killing dubstep etc... I'll check those ones out thanks.

@DrDrolomehet "They" is Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites and First of the Year. The 140bpm tempo and heavy bass is pretty much the only defining factor for dubstep. Scary Monsters and First of the Year, along with various other Skrillex songs, have both of these.

Skream and Benga are my favorite DubStep DJ's. Benga blew my mind away at Audiotistic 2011 greatest show of my raving career. Man oh man he puts a badass show!!
i love how people google skreams old skool dubstep and pretend they listened to it back in 2006. all types of dubstep are good to different people and opinions so chill the fuck out..
Kid 1: Hey, did you hear about this so called dubstep? Kid 2: No. Kid 1 : Here is a dubstep song (Starts playing SM&NS) Kid 2: HOLY SHIT! 1 year later there are many radio stations for "dubstep" and dubstep is now mainstream. Kid 3: Hey you guys like dubstep right? Everyone: YEAH! :D Kid 3: Listen to this song then! Everyone: OK! :D (Starts playing a mix of skream and kode9) Everyone: BOOO! And thats how "dubstep" will go mainstream. Well more like brostep.XD
@ThisDub you idiot just cause people buy doesnt necessarily make it mainstream and even if it is mainstream its still dubstep just cause some pop tunes are mainstream there still pop makes no diffrence who buys it
I love Skrillex and Datsik Borgore ect, but the over obsessive wobbles and random noises just gets annoying after a while, which is when Skream Coki Benga Burial N-Type distance etc help :)
@SnikendeUlteppe im not a big fan of skrillex but ive seen what hes said and he says he actuallly isnt dubstep but more of a dnb type sound...just saying.. thats what i heard
rusko started the whole bro step people like to call but he even says himself he regrets it.im tired of all this datstik skrillex bullshit!this dubstep will be underground and probably will forever but for us with good taste in music wel always have it to listen to
I like roots dubstep AND newfangled wobblestep/brostep. Each suits a different purpose; for instance, if you're in the mood for a tune that you can truly engage with, you're probably not going to put on Borgore or Datsik, you'll put on a more contemplative Skream, Benga, etc. track. If you're trying to mosh like a fucknut, Borgore or Datsik are better suited for the occasion. Yaaaaaaaay dubstep! :D
You people sound like these "ignorant fIlthy wobbly beat" dubstep fans. Dubstep shouldn't discriminate against dubstep. Because you don't like the sound of one spectrum that dubstep provides us, it sucks? Live above the ignorance and quit being a hate embracing hipster.
@DangerZoneWhistle im a kid and i love people such as skream and hate skrillex and datsik although i do agree with what your saying, just dont be so stereotypical :)
@DangerZoneWhistle What if you like the original dubstep And "brostep"? I mean I like Benga, Skream, Coki, Caspa, and all that, but I Also like Skrillex, Datsik, deadmau5, Rusko, and more...
@DangerZoneWhistle how come on every single skream video theres somebody talkin about how skream created dubstep or skream was OG skream this skream that. we get it now, youve got your word out about skream in every video. we know he created it and whether he created it or not, if someone thinks datsiks better wtf are u gunna do? explain that skream created dubstep and then all of a sudden they like skream? stop complaining, datsik is fucking amazing and skream is fucking amazing too.
@DangerZoneWhistle when i discovered dubstep it was already on its "filthy stage" and i do really enjoy it but listening to this makes me see that althought the filthy stuff is great for you to go nuts this is much more pure and deep stuff (REAL DUBSTEP). but i think everything has to evolve like so many other music styles did
@DangerZoneWhistle genres progress bro get over yourself. do you hear rappers nowerdays using beats like tupacs old songs? no. dont post a comment hating on a different type of dubstep and actually show respect to the song.

@Ergomanic It sounds like the sound of a keyboard or an organ, but just a little chopped up?

@ricovillanueva21 Rusko had some real good dubstep in the day!.. Personal favourite would have to be "Acton Dread".

Drabbs19 7 months ago
yeah skream is a true og. falling in love with his tunes!
i remember the times when people ask me "what kind of music do you hear" me answering "dubstep". "dub-what?"
"yeah dubstep. skream, benga, pinch, perverlist, caspa, rusko, bukez finezt, hijack, the widdler, kalbata etc."
"ehm okay dude you're strange and your music too"
ah good old times :D nuff said

Live above the ignorance and quit being a hate embracing hipster.
i love dubstep, nuff said.

Hi, my names Skream. I've ruined myself recently with half arsed songs because all the cunts seem to like that kind of thing
sorry guys, no awesome old Skream stuff anymore. Just a noisy sound and an ugly snare to come!
Thanks!

skream was there when dubstep started. its too bad kids are obsessed with skrillex and datsik nowadays. RIP the underground feel to dubstep.

@DangerZoneWhistle i saw a comment on one video where someone sed something about skrillex inventing dubstep i was like 'WTF!'
themasterglitch12 6 months ago
@DangerZoneWhistle when i discovered dubstep it was already on its "filthy stage" and i do really enjoy it but listening to this makes me see that althought the filthy stuff is great for you to go nuts this is much more pure and deep stuff (REAL DUBSTEP). but i think everything has to evolve like so many other music styles did
LenhasGS 6 months ago
@DangerZoneWhistle genres progress bro get over yourself. do you hear rappers nowerdays using beats like tupacs old songs? no. dont post a comment hating on a different type of dubstep and actually show respect to the song.
smellyfish36 6 months ago
@smellyfish36 skrillex isnt dubstep, so your theory is flawed....

@DangerZoneWhistle
datsik is the shit.
StayPassive 5 months ago
