I'm not saying you shouldn't do it. If you do it right, and micro the banelings to explode against the CC coming from the mineral line, you might as well take some SCVs with the command center!

This cast is extremely entertaining and professional. You did such a great job by explaining your moves and decisions. Most casters, sadly inculding HD, tend to just tell what they see. Watchers can see everything as well, but it is so interesting and useful to hear the analysis of games.

I noticed you spreading a lot of creep and Catz didn't. Obviously you think creep spreading is a good thing in ZvZ. What are the pros and cons? I guess it all balances in the end, but I tend to avoid the spread in ZvZ.

@apfunston I know you're asking Psy but I'd like to venture an opinion. If you think about it, you are going to be having more units moving around in your base and near your base than your opponent is. That is good for you if there is more creep there. In general I think creep should be spread out to the "front line". That way your units will reach that point more quickly and the opponent will be getting no advantage from it. That's the theory anyway.

@OmniZerg From what I can tell, CatZ was under a lot of pressure and had to pump Roaches to defend. He also made the decision to get infestors, which has merit, but got complicated when he couldn't pump out enough of them to do anything or enough roaches to defend them. PsY was focused on keeping up that pressure and pumping out drones to dominate the economy game, as well as keeping up with upgrades.

If Psy scouted it or Catz didn't get a critical mass of mutas early enough, Psy would have been able to counter them with Hydras and maybe Infestors easily. Mutas aren't cost-effective in any fight whatsoever in ZvZ. Depends on timing, whether it would have worked, or not.

The biggest mistake Psy made was that he did not expand at 9:30

Terrans are all like "roach +1 so balance now hurrrr"

And its true, there's more balance, but Terran is still sooooo much easier to play.

It's just that you now have more chance to actually win while having the necessary twice as high apm you need to play Zerg

15 hatch would lose to 1 base roach wouldn't it ? I have quite a good success going strait strait, without lingspeed against people who go 1 base ling with speed to harrash, since you can block ramp with roaches and once you have a couple you can push and rally and he just cant get the mass amount of lings early on to deal with it.
