I did the same thing (unintentionally, of course!) on an icy road in UK. I got
bad neck pain for weeks after mainly due to the added weight of wearing a helmet. Also got my leg caught as its a natural reaction to put it out on normal bikes.

actually, the C1 was designed to be ridden without helmet. It is in fact wiser to ride it without helmet as the added weight on the head together with the 4 point seatbelt would result in neck damage during abrupt deceleration. There are reports of this in UK where its use without helmet was banned. In most of EU it is legal to ride it without helmet.
I'm going to buy myself that motorcycle when I get older

One guy had his face ground off as the C1 fell over and he was knocked unconscious. Best to wear a helmet. Always.
