@spartanHOA ok, attack pirates in their base when they defend and tell me that again...a bilion of parrots will come to you and your squad with even some BLAM from the guns of the pirates and then the matches will end as usually...in island on 30 matches there are 23 wins by pirates, 5 from knights and 2 from vik IF they allied with knights to take away the boots from the pirate's base XD

@IAMAWSOMENOWOK for pirates you have to attack only with weapons and not with the sword...only the others classes are strong with it but a pirate is a good murder if you are very good to doin' quick hits avoiding the enemy's ones. vikings are though because of the lag and the prove is that NOONE want to to the viking in the servers...only pirate (long range/faster) or knights (low-long range/strongest)

I disagree with you Notoor, Valve gives the Source engine its potential, but doesn't fully release it, most of their products are rarely "bad" but once the community mods and coders get their hands on the engine is when its true glory shines, as depicted here in this video.

They don't take shortcuts. They keep rendering, poly count, and texture resolution to a fair amount so the game looks good, but runs well even on older systems. They care more about gameplay rather than running on pure graphics.

Oh Valve takes many shortcuts such as some famous as not modeling Gordan freeman or just l4d being completely unfinished upon release. It was playable but it was honestly more of a beta then a full release it seemed to me and most of my buddies. I wish i waited till they dropped the price cause i got shafted at full price.

Gordon Freeman wasent modeled because he didnt need to be. You never see him, no need to model him. Its not a shortcut if it was never needed to begin with. Also, L4D is meant to be like that. Its not meant to be a fully Storyline game. Its supposed to be simple a zombie slaying game that incorporates Teamwork. Read the blogs.

Bucky what i meant by unfinished was not story for l4d it was the mountain of bugs, the lack of two campaigns for versus, and half of the shit they are adding in the "DLC" that should have been there on release. Also the rampant delay of the SDK which now is the only thing that makes it worth buying a steam game due to user created content.

TF2 had a mountain of bugs as well. Versus only had 2 of the maps to test gameplay, not to mention it was a last minute addition. They already fixed most of the Bugs like they did with tf2. and the DLC is only really promising the 2 Versus maps, SDK, and the new Game Mode.

Sudden is write Valve has now focused more on selling the engine then the games. It has really been the community stepping up in recent years that create real magic and glory with the Source Engine. Plus Valve doesn't make half of their games DoD CS TFC and on was pretty much user created mods that Valve took over.

The following ones will be released at a faster pace however, as the application of steamworks to the mod makes updating a lot easier for the developers.
