  • Ellenberger is an has been legit, 25 w's! However Shields faced better competition and I think he was fine, head was down going for TD when he grabbed the official. His hand was up deflecting some of the punches to side of head. Not to forecast what could have happened, but afterward he seemed well aware and with it. I say it was a premature stoppage, he has shown he can come back. If he was in more trouble then he would have let go of the leg and went to his back as he did against hendo/daily

  • Jake keep your head up bro! You took a solid knee and ate some good ground strikes that you have shown u can take and keep ticking, your hand was up blocking some of them too, official should have let it play out a bit longer. Head was down so of course he was going to grab the official, try to finish take down, not out of it like rogan said to hype the win. Either way Ellenberger has been great too, Shields will be back in contention. Still think he has what it takes to get Silva down/sub

  • @VeganMotorcyclePilot Keep dreaming! He got knocked the fuck out by a guy who specializes in wrestling! No way in hell that he could beat Anderson Silva! T_T

  • Jake cares about his fans, doesnt sell out like Silva, promoting Burger King which kills animals in horrible factory farms (sick, unsanitary, abuse meatvideo dotcom) and our health (my father had triple bypass surgery - look up videos after a heart attack despite being thin and fit) at least they have the BK veggie. Shields sent GSP to the Hopsital too!

  • @HelpStopAnimalAbuses silva don't work for burger king of course he can't refuse the deal, after all they do it for money, how you want him to say no to a big sponsor such a burger king??? don't talk stupid my friend.

  • @JDMMA1 they can choose other endorsements, cant saturate the market with everything. I understand it could cost some and would be a tough choice, but is selling out at the stake of his fans health, maybe could endorse another semi-healthy/ethical food item they carry if they have anything decent. Like jordan/woods sponsoring nike when they use sweat shops, value money over countless lives. Also the milk commercials when most african americans are lactose intollerant anyways lol.

  • @VeganMotorcyclePilot lol man, just let the guys make their money for living... don't juge them to easily

  • @VeganMotorcyclePilot take your political ideas elsewhere, im pretty sure no one wants to hear you bitch about how guys endorsing sponsers is so terrible. These guys dont make alot of money, and they work harder than many of the other people in sports, so if you want to bitch and moan about fans health than get the fuck off of this mma video and leave people who want to watch it alone.

  • @BigJohnButNotTall I read all the posts, nothing political, it was about health and Jake being a good rolemodel. Now go back to talking about nonsense, at least he brought up a good issue relevant to this so go elsewhere yourself then.

  • RIP Jack Shields !!!

  • RIP Jack Shields! I am very sad for you and your families loss bro! We just talked the other day on FB about how you use your voice to be a amazing rolemodel for in health+morals (raised a life long vegetarian, promote for animals-such as your peta2 video), This makes sports seem small. Anyways, my thoughts are with your family. It was obvious he was proud of you and his family, he's great guy RIP Jack Shields :(*

  • Sports Illustrated: "Shields pushed forward throughout and broke St Pierre's 30 round unbeaten streak with persistent jabs and body kicks that bloodied the champs face. By fights end Shields looked fresh and ready to continue."

Bloody Elbow: " Shields what Koscheck, Fitch and Alves all failed to do--he took two rounds from the champ. GSP was visibly more damaged than Shields. Shields did more than anyone has done in a long time--he made GSP look bad and that is saying a helluva lot."

  • Jake Shields controlled Hendo most of that fight (even without ground elbows allowed in SF at the time). Henderson has been on a tear taking the LHW title from Calavante...now beating Fedor - so thats a big feather in Jakes cap. I know MMA math doesnt always work out, but basically a welter-mid weight beat some heavyweights. Also he beat Condit and Okami who are the next title contenders. Veggies do a body good! Hope Shields taps out that punk Fake Ellenburger - although he is really solid too

  • GSP never when to the floor with you. We know why....

  • @andresme2 bj penn has superior jiu jitsu.

  • @Jsnowboard

BJ Penn is in a different weight class. He walks around at about 162. GSP walks around at around 195+. They both fought at 170. Not sure if you ever grappled but 5 pounds of muscle makes a difference, 30 pounds is something else entirely. Jake is a better size match for GSP. In 2005 Jake Shields got third place submitting the Leo Santos (who submitted GSP with a flying armbar). I think GSP only won his first match.

  • @andresme2 The event was Adcc 2005.

  • @andresme2 yes, i do grapple... jake shields is also more of a top jiujitsu fighter. and that was adcc, so no striking is involved. Also, jiu jitsu isnt about strength 100%

  • Bloody Elbow: " Shields managed to do what Fitch, Koscheck & Alves all failed to do-he took two rounds from the Champ.

GSP was visibly more damaged than Shields. Where the Challenger ended the fight with an unmarked face, the champ left the octagon with a bloody nose and a swelling eye.

Credit Jake Shields with fighting a great fight. Shields flustered the champ throughout the bout. His stand-up awkward as it is, frustrated GSP and thew off his timing, and he got better as the fight wore on."

  • i really like this guy, but it must be a hard transition to go from an excellent world class wrestler to a mixed martial artist, as we can see from his weak striking capabilities

  • @SaSinKaL ESPN: Bloodied St Pierre decisions Shields: " St Pierre did not escape unscathed. Shields landed stiff left jabs and right crosses, sometimes it seemed at will. One punch damaged St Pierre's eye. Shields striking proved to be better than advertised. "

Check out Robbie Lawler's post fight interview where he talks about Shields stand up being ' awkward but effective ', stiff jabs and hard body kicks.

  • I think Jake did a good job, he shut GSP's attacks down, improved and proved his kickboxing is solid depiste claims, just has not had to use it much. By damage, Shields won. Im also glad that Jake did not act desparate shooting for tons of takedowns at the end when he was fine. At the same time I still would have liked him to have clinched, pulled guard or attempt submissions go all out a bit more to seal a win without judges, but it was very close. Respect, but he is capable of being ww champ!

  • @steeeeker hell yea man!!! he deserves it

  • If Strikeforce allowed elbows on grounded opponents, Shields would have destroyed some faces and we would have needed blood donors. Against Daley he was mounted alot and Miller and Hendo would have likely reacted into submissions by giving up the back. He did finish Lawler, Daley, Thompson quickly still! Vegetarian Power! Solid kickboxing 2. Nick Diaz and Mike Tyson Vegan 2! Look up vegan athletes to natural body builders, olympians, nfl - tony gonzalez....and sick factory farm videos!

  • @animalabusinglosers8 if shields is so healthy from vegan power how come he needed to stay in the sana

a extra couple of hours the day before the kampman fight ohhh!!!!!!!

  • If he came up against a really good Messican like Velasquez, Diaz, Torres, Sanchez or Ortiz,

he will be in trouble. :|

  • @pseudonominous true but diaz is a team member, velasquez, ortiz are heavyweights sanchez is a in a lower class, so it wont happen, hes 6 years undefeated with 15 straight wins.. and getting another win tonight! :)

  • @bigdaddylovestori when is he getting da win?? :|

  • 3:58 dat ass

  • @sickofboss wat a lucky bitch to practice with her

  • mmaweekly ufc-129-georges-st-pierre-believes-jake-shields-would-beat-every-contender-hes-ever-faced.

St Pierre reminds people that he has been saying Shields was the best opponent at welterweight since Shields was fighting in Strikeforce.

GSP goes on to say Shields would beat all the fighters he (GSP) has beat.

  • Jake Shields is an excellent fighter and the toughest test GSP has faced.

  • I used to dislike Shields, but he seems like a sharp fighter, he might beat GSP his ground game is ridiculous and he also has the tools to give Silva a run for his money, Chael (pronounced like "Troll") Sonnen did good but JS knows how to win judges points

  • Laugh now, and make any arguement you want,.... but jake shields will eventually fight silva and beat him like sonnen should have.

  • @momeni20 wow nice wouldnt expect ortiz to be standin next to liddel

  • is that tito ortiz at 0:31 with the flame shorts?

  • @upthehillmario and tony de souza at the left side

  • is he related to brooke shields?

  • oakmantex likes your ass.in fact he loves it i think hes chineese

  • Jake and JSP....it's going to be a very long Jiu-Jitsu match. GSP will win, second round Submission....

  • @ASSBANG6969 LOL NO FUCKING WAY GSP CAN SUB JAKE SHILEDS

  • @ASSBANG6969 woooooow!! no way gsp taps out shields.. he can win if the fight stays standing.. on the ground tho shields has probably the best submission game at 170 and his sweeps are very impressive,, gsp can win if it stays standing, if shields has success with takedowns.. new champ

  • @smhpgh23 Interesting observation. I have not followed Jake Shields career, but what oponets are noteworthy? GSP has fought some Top Dogs. I do hope that Jake wins, but I just do not see him thinking faster than GSP, meaning that when you have to fighters at the same or near the same level, it becomes a mind game. Hey I am a Bay Area Native, but I have to be LOGICAL. As a fighter GSP is a Genius. I still see a second round Submission by GSP....

  • @ASSBANG6969 i mean anyhting can happen in a mma fight.. but gsp doesnt have the skills to make jake tap, im not saying gsp isnt one of the p4p bests.. cuz he is.. and theres a good chance he will win the fight, by tko or decision, but shields ground game is a step above gsps and when the fight does go to ground itll be interesting to see how it plays out.. like i said we will see how it goes on 30th. but gsp doesnt tap anybody out anymore.. he plays it too safe, and no way shields gets tapped

  • @smhpgh23 Gee now I want to see the fight! But the fight Card is pretty weak...so I am not Paying for it...Besides his winning streak, what fighters has Jake fought that are worth mentioning? As a fighter, you have had to have fought the best to be considered the best. A winning streak does not make you a great fighter....GSP has proven that ....He has beaten fighters on winning streaks.....anyways will have to wait and see....

  • @ASSBANG6969 itll be a good ground war i believe. but hes beat dan henderson at 185, mayhem miller at 185, robbie lawler, paul daley, carlos condit, yushi okami, ans sakurai, all pretty good fighters.. im not sayin there the best of the best.. well henderson is,.. but still a impressive list.. gsp will def be his toughest fight. even shields says gsp is best rite now... so we shall see wat happens

  • @smhpgh23 Yes I agree, it will be a Ground War. The list of fighters Jake has beaten is Impressive. Definitely a Great Match-up. But I really don't see Jake having an easy time taking GSP to the Ground, GSP has Excellent Anti Ground skills and he has taken down other fighters down easily, fighters that are considered Extremely Hard to take down....

  • @ASSBANG6969 Who has he beat? Henderson, Okami, Mayhem, Menne, Sakurai, Kikuchi, Daley, Verissimo, Thompson, Pyle, Mazaki, Condit. Finished 9 of his last 12 and three were up 15lbs above his natural fighting weight in an Org that didn't allow ELBOWS, a control fighters best weapon.

Watch some fights and you will see even his subs are often set up by elbows, couldn't use them against Hendo or Mayhem or he would have finished both.

  • i dont understand why people keep saying GSP is a boring fighter... the guy is a master tactician and shuts down world class opponents he fights the fight where he knows he has the advantage and is defencively sound enough to keep it there. theres no beauty in watching someone get knocked out the beauty is in the combination leading to it or the build up to the submission.

  • american jiu jitsu? LOL. Marcelo Garcia should teach him again...there's only one jits, and it's brazilian.

    Jake's good though

  • @phoenix0017 When Shields won the Shooto America's Championship was the first time I ever heard mention AJJ, he said it mixed US wrestling with Brazillion (South American) Jiu jitsu.

When Shields says American Jiu Jitsu he means American.

  • @oakmantex brazilian... not brazillion

  • @phoenix0017 BJJ is the only JJ?....are you retarded?....you do know JJ is from japan right?

  • @nikolasramsay off course, i'm talkin' about the one used in MMA (im brazilian by the way). What i meant was that Shields can't say he's creating a new JJ, he was teached by Cesar Gracie... so it's Bjj

  • @phoenix0017 Cesar agrees with Shields, Jake never trained in a Gi. He was awarded his own Gracie affiliate at Fairtex Fight in 2001 as a blue belt, because he was beating black belts in major grappling tourny's.

Shields was an All American wrestler, but more important he was a National Freestyle Champ & was asked to join the US National Team. He couldn't afford it as single father.

He took the power and aggressive force of wrestling and mixed it with the position & submissions of BJJ.

  • @phoenix0017 NAW AJJ IS BETTER FOR A REAL FIGHT AND IN MMA MIXING WRESTLING WITH HIS JIU JITSU JAKE IS A BEAST AT GRAPPLING AND WILL SUBMIT GSP WITH EASE WHEN THE FIGHT HITS THE GROUND SHILEDS 1st ROUND SUB NEW UFC WW CHAMP

  • I am a nobody but that striking seems kinda weird.

  • Shields can pull off the upset! He just knows how to grind it out and finds a way to win. No pressure on Shields, GSP better not make one mistake or Shields will end his rein! He may take some shots, but will suck it up and leave it all in the octagon.

  • Shields kick boxing is fine, he trains with Diaz and he doesnt throw it all behind each punch yet is great. He doesnt over committ to throwing wild punches or winding himself like Garcia and some others. I thought it was obvious he mostly uses his kicks and punches to set up his takedowns, grapping, wrestling and bjj. Cardio good Kampman is just good and the weight cut, he beat Condit and Okami in 1 night! GSP better be on or he will be knocked off. The life long Vegetarian will previal!

  • shuddup shields u would put gsp as number one p4p so wen u lose u have an excuse and wen u win ur gonna be looking like a superstar

  • GSP will kill jake shields, his fight against kampman was pathetic. hes an overated grappler

  • Jake Wrestle since 5yrs old and do jiu-jitsu for 10+ years. He have more little secret tricks in wrestling for any position than GSP could dream to learn. He is also a ultra high level world class jiu-jitsu champion. He his simply on another level than GSP. Black belt vs black belt mean nothing. Jake is the Sidney Crosby of jiu-jitsu. Santos tap GSP in 60 seconds. Jake took Santos like a little girl and tap him in 30 seconds. I just tell you on Wresting and jits GSP have no change tu survive.

  • Shields is the smartest fighter I've ever seen. Maybe not the best but definitely the smartest.

  • I dont like jake shields chances vs GSP, hes def not stronger, or a good stricker, and as good a wrestler. If anything he has better bbj than gsp but....well see how that plays.

  • Great article on many Vegan + Vegetarian MMA Fighters:

    sports (dot) yahoo (dot) com/mma/news;_ylt=Ap5xElAI2uWPRgkJwpt9XHt0fNdF?slug=dm-diets021711

Diaz bros, Shields, Danzig, Fitch, Mike Tyson...share it on FB plz!

  • Jake Shields is the MAN. And yes he CAN.

  • this guy dont pass the first round vs gsp :D

  • @jokerstylerule By the looks of that grammar, "you dont pass" the 3rd grade.

  • @RSXellence Hahaha stfu noob

  • gsp will eat you jake

  • Jake, you did not beat Yushin Okami. Fuck yourself.

  • I respect Jake most for his work ethic but also speaking his mind and from his heart, its easy to not speak out about current unpopular things like vegetarian for health or ethics. He has the opportunity with people obviously listening and seeks the opportunity (also to join the ufc and give up his dominate title in SF) and will have no regrets many years from now could keep the secret veg advantage to himself too.

  • I respect Jakes skill, and i have a feeling he will win. But i dont think id be able to handle being boo'ed as the champion. id always want exciting fights for the fans. i dont see how he does it.

  • Jake Shields is as good as his record don't judge him by the Kampmann fight. Watch Henderson, Robbie Lawler, Daley, Sakurai, Condit, Okami. Look back 9 weeks before he fought Kampmann at 170lbs he was saying in interviews he thought he was facing Silva or the # 1 contender at Middleweight.

Going from 205-210lbs down to 170lbs instead of 185lbs in 9 weeks or less is as hard as it sounds and he still beat a Top 10 WW.

  • @JRBreason

Hey, if you lose by a move repeatedly, you will eventually become immune to it....Or something like that.

  • Jake Shields will beat St Pierre. I was laughed at when I said he would beat Lawler,(2.4 to 1) I got a lot more laughs when I said he would beat Hendo.(3.5 to 1) Both fights were good for my bank account.

This fight has the exact same odds as the Henderson fight.

  • @mixmaster2669 he'll win, but the fight is going to be boring as hell, 25 minutes of lay and pray dryhumping is all Shields knows. The crowd is going to boo him so badly I doubt they'll interview him after the fight, like they didn't interview him after the kampmann fight

  • @mixmaster2669 I'm glad how wrong you were on St-Pierre losing. haha

  • @ocean514 True Shields lost 3 out of the 5 rounds. But he won the 4th and 5th round and looked fresh enough to go another five rounds. GSP was ready to go to the hospital. We will see Shields win the UFC belt before he is done.

  • @oakmantex Definitely, he deserves it.

  • @oakmantex your an idiot,...how can you support shields he an fitch are same style no body like them they are both boring as hell///him and fitch gate keepers

  • @davejones8 um, your the idiot. All you are is a bloodthirsty guy who wants to see someone get knocked out in the most gruesome way possible. Mayby if you werent so ignorant, and understood what was going on on the ground it would be more exiting for you. If you want entertainment, watch pro wrestling.

  • @BigJohnButNotTall good point here but wouldnt be so immature calling him and idiot and be such a keyboard warrior like most on mma videos.

  • @mixmaster2669 you were incredibly wrong :D

  • @mixmaster2669 dude he beat the fuck out of st. pierre!...oh wait

  • at 4:30 he roll with Denny a 10th planet black belt under eddie bravo. Denny also have his own 10th planet jj school in SF. Verry cool dude!

  • @LikeTotallyRich Yeah Denny is good, he won Worlds this year, he has been training off and on with Shields for 3-4 years.

  • Shields vs GSP, Shields will win by 25 min dry humping lay and pray, he'll win but the crowd will boo him loudly as has become synonomous with all jake shields fights, Shields is boring as hell

  • @rockinrondogg you underestimate GSP's wrestling...Shields is a good wrestler and ju jitsu but im telling you taking down martin kampmann is nothing compared to GSP... he will keep it standing and out box the shit out of shields whos MAJOR achilles heel is stand-up

  • @riottrainer that's what everyone was saying before he fought hendo, and he layed and prayed to a victory then. It's going to be great seeing shields win after 25 min, the crowd booing, and dana white looking embarassed in the cage

  • @JRBreason I think Shields, Sonnen and St Pierre all have a good chance to beat Silva. Silva has a grappling problem, fighters with nowhere near the wrestling/BJJ of GSP or Shields have taken him down and mounted him. And Sonnen with only wrestling about took him out (ah for a little jitz in the last 2 minutes)

So I would like to see Shields vs Silva, but no doubt GSP vs Shields is a much more interesting fight.

  • @JRBreason i never said he wasnt dominant just sayin he's boring. my opinion i dont think dana white wants to rep gsp as number one p4p fighter. dana praises silva like a if he was his brother, did u see the ufc 126 trailer? "greatest fighter in the world, p4p king" and look how stack 117 card was and look how stack 126 IS

IS, compare that to ufc 124. gsp is dominant but dana knows who's more exciting.silva doesnt speak english, never in the media and gsp has a baby face thats y hes more pop

  • @JRBreason pfft im wrong about some figthts and some fighters but im never wrong about gsp. one performance? ha! try 5, 3in a row. alves was a yawn fest, hardy was a yawn fest, nothing excited me wen he fought kos. he was still playin it safe he didnt even come close to finishing kos (who had one eye sense round 2)

google gsp's name and first thing u see is matt hueghs thinks "gsp's last fight was boring" if matt hueghs is calling that out i mean come on man u kno it gott be some wat tru

  • @JRBreason i said there will be a knockout ufc 129 gsp vs shields, ya somebody getting KO"D, the crowd. so if u go get ur pillow ready cause it gonna be long and boring match.

  • @JRBreason ha! so ur poor :) or is not watching gsp vs shields worth 50 bucks (its not) i payed for 6 ppv event dissapointed prob 2 times. phil davis will beat hamill with ease

  • @JRBreason well its nice to kno that ur gonna pay 50 bucks to watch gsp vs shields . let me kno how that goes

  • @JRBreason but jacare trains with silva. shields boors me and gsp, y cant there ground game be like the diaz brothers. constant movement and never boring

  • @JRBreason anderson silva is

  • @JRBreason jacare would smash shields.

  • shields is a beast but i kinda back my boy GSP

  • For all you guys hating on jake shields I'd like to see you get in the ring and fight him.

  • For all you guys hating on jake shields, I'd like tos

  • @petrolhead1845598 why because he's nice

  • i think gsp has his hands full

  • GSP said today "Jake Shields is a brilliant submission artist, he's amazing beating some of the best fighters at 170lbs and 185lbs. He is one of the fighters I like to watch the most."

St Pierre said pretty much the same thing over a year ago, before Shields was in the UFC. He said Shields is the best fighter in my weight class and we both like to test ourselves so i really hope we get to fight sometime, see who is really the best. He also said why he liked watching Shields fight, technique

  • Worthy of title shot. I would choose to watch gsp vs. js over silva.

  • Our Vegan bro Mac Danzig got the huge KO R-1 of Joe Stevenson, you veggie dudes are tearing it up! Mike Tyson the vegan should join in on the whoopings and all the other veg athletes, look up video and factory farms.

  • He is one of the worst, scared fighter iv seen at stand up.

  • Last night 3 of Jake Shields last 5 opponents won by first round KO's. Hendo KO'd Babalu, Lawler dropped Matt Lindland and Daley KO'd Scott Smith.

Shields tapped out Lawler and Daley and dominated Henderson, so big winner of the night was Jake Shields.

  • Pure domination is when somone knows your game plan (wrestle, takedown, gnp or work the bjj and try submission) and you still impose your will and dictate where and how you want the fight to go. So few can do it like him that its unique and very interesting. JS may not be the fastest or strongest, but he is very solid and skilled making him one of the best p4p.

  • Shields and Fitch are the disease plaguing mma. No stand up, no heart, and the most booring to watch. F*ck Shields!

  • @thunderballzz jon fitch has amazing heart watch the gsp fight he never gave up that is heart you know nothing

  • @IVIADDOG1690 That was 2 years ago, watch his fights with Alves, Saunders, Gono, Thiago, nothing but dry humping. Have fun rooting for the biggest c*nt in MMA

  • @thunderballzz What uneducated newb's don't understand is that Shields could have strangled several opponents dead. Could have broken necks, arms, legs etc.

Don't understand that a LOT of time spent on the wrestling mat is spent learning to keep from injuring your opponent. " Returning your opponent safely to the mat " is much harder than slamming them and more time goes into learning to control and slow his decent than into the throw.

Any kind of take down on to a hard surface is the end.

  • 3:08 He looks like Arnold Schwarzenneger!

  • Even on an off day he beat a top 10 ww in kampmann enroute to 15 straight wins (Hendo, Miller, Lawler R1, Daley R2, Thompson R1, Pyle, Condit) and now another title UFC against GSP. Shields is also a life long Vegetarian, check out his peta2 video and factory farm videos for more. Also look up veg athletes, tons of body builders, ufc, olympians and football players, even Mike Tyson is vegan now lol!

  • Sorry mate but Jake Shields aint knocking out shit.

  • @neonblack88 Might not KO a lot of people, but he had 9 straight finishes by TKO and Subs at weilterweight before going up 15lbs for bigger name opponents. Now he has 15 wins in a row, fighting as a P4P fighter.

He was sluggish against Kampmann but still beat him after leaving 20lbs in the sauna the day before. Shields will be a natural WW again in his next fight. 9 weeks isn't alot of time to cut from 210lbs to 170lbs when the weight is mostly lean muscle. RESPECT.

  • lol his striking is sooooooooo bad

  • Fuck Jake Shields he does NOT deserve a title shot.

  • George must have been laughing his ass off after the Kampman fight. I think Sheilds should have stayed at middleweight.

  • just from observing his padwork ...his punches have no power

  • @ninjaskills24 Shields had a 40lb cut in 9 weeks, he dropped 15lbs in the first 2 weeks then pulled a back muscle. He was out for a week and on light training for another week.

He made the cut and fought through fatigue to beat a top level opponent. Heart, similar to when he got off the floor to beat Hendo.

That is how you go 6 years without a loss while defeating Hendo, Lawler, Daley, Sakurai, Menne, Mayhem, Charuto, Condit, Okami, Pyle etc. You fight through and don't stop when it hurts

  • @oakmantex i respect that statement

  • @oakmantex You just told a good rocky balboa story in the first 3 lines lmao.

  • @ninjaskills24 and no technique his striking is really really terrible I cant believe he hasnt improved it

  • @neonblack88 Yeah bruh his ground game is at 90% his striking skills are at 1% idk where the other 9% is maybe the speed of which he talks....lol

  • What happens to his strikeforce belt?

  • Great job Jake another win make's 15 in a row. The record since Fedor lost. Next UFC Champ!!!

  • Congrats on your win Jake, beat Kampmann and proved your toughness in a different way by making a hard cut after an injury.

Looking forward to seeing you against GSP!!!

  • Congrats on the UFC win Jake. Not pretty as fighting can be, but you got by. From what I heard you made a big 15lb cut in 24 hrs. Kampmann is really good as you stated which negated some of your offense (ground elbows). Martin had a questionable win of Condit too. Tight fights, hope for the GSP grappling and jj match now. 15 in a row!

  • Its my b-day and I want a Jake Shields and vegetarians win tonight.

If they cannot stop the takedown that is the opponents issue. I enjoy the wrestling and especially the grappling and jj. I will ppv this one.

  • They cut out the part where he talks about his veg diet, this is the full version of the interview: sports.yahoo.com/mma/news;_ylt=Ah2.bhKyHooEFFNgL68SLQ49Eo14?slug=ki-shieldsufcdebut102110

  • Jake Shields has nothing to prove, he is one of the best at mma. He has all of his championship belts and will forever have been a one of few top 10 p4p fighter in the world still by many critics polled:

    sports.yahoo.com/mma/news;_ylt=AqwCpFr8g1OK.H5CUIL8yX1WEo14?slug=dd-mmaranks101410

Another Vegetarian proving myths and meatheads wrong. Look up some factory farm videos and veg athletes videos if interested.

  • Get Kampmann mounted and bloody up your elbows. No easy task with Martin, but Jake certainly can. The best veg fighter!

  • Love watching Jake Shields fight, he forces the action, always coming forward, forces the TD's, the mount and the finish.

    WAR SHIELDS!!!

  • If you see this, just do your thing and 8/10 times I think its yours Jake. Try to have some fun too, its a sport. Kampman is no slauch though, edged out Carlos Condit recently who is very solid all around as he proved with the ko of hardy. Pulling for you my vegetarian bro!

  • Good luck Jake, kampmann is very good and game, but if you get by him you should get gsp. Oct 23 is my b-day and I want a win, represent us vegetarians bro!

  • @posser415 you would be SCREAMING---UNCLE OH SHIT UNCLE---DON'T BREAK IT---PLEASE.

  • Jake Sheilds known as "The common Strikeforce pussy!"

  • @mlmyers00 DOUBTFUL

  • They didn't show a picture of just Tito, Tito may be in the middle but on the right of him is Chuck Liddell then next to Chuck is Jake Shields.

  • @JRBreason Yep Shields was only a purple belt, in the 2005 ADCC's.

He choked out 7 time BJJ Blackbelt World Champion Leo Santos in 90 seconds in the Semi's, became one of only two Americans to medal. He also beat 3 time HW & absolute World Champion & TUF Show finalist Vinnie Margalhas giving up 40lbs and 2 belt classes, to win ProSub Absolute.

Santos tapped out GSP in one minute of the first match of the same ADCC tourney while Shields was beating Sanchez on another mat. All fights on Youtube

  • Why did they put a picture of tito Ortiz instead of chuck liddell?! Lol weird

  • anyone notice he talked about meeting Chuck Liddell and they show a picture of Tito Ortiz?

  • @rockbodyfitness chuck is right next to tito

  • @rockbodyfitness chuck is next to tito

  • ah thats it!

  • @JRBreason I think Jacare would beat Shields as well. Just my opinion.

  • Shields has to get the fight to the ground. His striking isn't that good especially against a former Muay Thai champion Kampmann. But Kampmann isn't a slouch on the ground. Either way its going to be an interesting fight. Expect a surprise. I want Shields to win then fight Fitch then GSP or Kos depending who wins that bout.
