Poker takes skill, but it is not a sport. If poker is a sport, than World of Warcraft is a sport. Because like poker, people playing WoW invest their money, sit for hours on end, compete against other players, and I'll argue put in as much physical exertion as card players. Like poker, it can become an unhealthy obsession. So if Dave Pratt or anyone else wants to call poker players athletes, than all those WoW players out there are also athletes

I have it worse than poker players and get paid less than a pro poker player. I sit 40 hours a week day in and day out for 250 days a year filing papers. That's kind of like shuffling, am I right? PLUS I HAVE TO SIT IN A CUBICLE. Now, is my job a real sport?

They also dont have 18 hour days in the main event.....some smaller one day events might go that long, very very rare. However the main even, has in the first 2 days. A morning and afternoon shift, you play one of the other....due to the number of players, not enough room for all. Shifts are 6 hours long. If you make it to day 3-7 you will play a 4 hours morning sitting, with a 2 hour break, followed by a 6 hour session. I imagine doyle has a lovely room as well.

Taylor has no idea the stress and sleep deprivation involved with a Poker tourney. Car racers are sitting down on their ass. It is definitely a sport. Poker is a game that is tougher then many sports when you add in the sleep deprivation and stakes involved. Pratt is a douche and Taylor is kiss-up that is out to lunch.
