Hay people i need help with something i just bought the AMD Phenom ii X2 560 BE and unlocked all fore cores, with a MSI 880gme-41 motherboard but there is no temperature reading not even in the AMD overdrive software when i unlock all fore cores, how can i fix this problem?
Do you have any idea what could be casuing me not to be able to change the x16 higher manually? i cannot go higher then 16x for some reason. but then again where it says "advanced clock etc.." in yours it says CMOS items in mine with a Icon with a Dragon wich says "fusion" is that something in the bios i have to disable?
does it matter what motherbaord you have? because i have the exact same CPU as you, black edition 955 x4 phenom II, and the core multiplier on my AMD overdrive its capped at 16, and i think its because im using a motherboard that doesn't support the "BE" part of my chip am i in the ball park here, or am i doing something wrong with the program? i have a biostar a880gu3 mobo
@airsoftbro123 Now I'm up to 3.3Ghz, haven't gone past 43C. I'm running the built in stress test, doing it for 30minutes. & that's probably a good idea haha. I have an old modded P4 just laying around. I should mess with that to get used to it.
@airsoftbro123 It's a bit scary if your OCing in the BIOS (done it before) lol. AMD overdrive is alot easier. I'm new to it too, i've only overclocked this CPU, lol it was my first <3.
@iAmAlby Go to settings and set it to advanced. Then you will be able to change everything except voltages. I do it all through the BIOS. It's more stable. And you use Overvoltage, 0.10% picks the voltage up from 1.4v to like 1.5 if i remember. The better the board the better the Overclock also. Just watch your memory times, Northbridge and all that. Because the Athlon does not have an unlocked multi. Ive, gotten my athlon to 3.8Ghz, not to stable though. 3.7-3.7Ghz is were i find my best clock.
I have an amd phenon x4 945 quad with a msi 870ag54 mb. I'm using the amd overdrive program and a lot of the tabs are grayed out, I can't click on them, also under the clock/voltage tab it says that the target speed is 3000 mhz and is running at only 800. The sliders of each core multiplier is set to the max by default and it's only at 800mhz. What's going on here? I know t his cpu is overclockable. Please help.
You can let it find one or you can utilize the more advanced features to find the best o.c you can manually, if you watched my video you should understand these principals.
@winstonngo You can allow the software to do your O.C, however with research and practice you can manually O.C significantly higher. Overdrive is to allow anyone to achieve higher performance regardless of there previous experience.
@winstonngo You can allow the software to do your O.C, however with research and practice you can manually O.C significantly higher. Overdrive is to allow anyone to achieve higher performance regardless of there previous experience.
@TheDman52 several things could have happened. PSU could be to weak, if your CPU does not have an unlocked multiplier, and you increased your FSB to achieve the O.C you could be stressing other components of your PC or many other issues. Check out the forums at overclockers
@AbeNicxs I have never looked into a formula for determining that. i use a 750 Watt and have an Nvidia GTX 465 Fermi GPU, 3 HDD and 1 solid state drive, a water cooling system, killer nic, 2 DVD drives card reader and a lot of usb equipment
Hey i dont know shit about oc or any of that. i got a 1090T and i just used that Auto Clock, can anyone tell me what could happen if i just leave it it on auto clock then just the normal mhz it comes with. hope this makes sense
just a question, basically i asume to overclock, you typically just increase multipliers, bit by bit, until you reach your maximum posible setting (that is stable), but i read about increasing voltage, when do i know that i have to increase voltage?
@evolutionpr ah thanks, thing is i done it now, i got up to 4.0 without any crashes for like a month, althought if i overclock to around 4.3 it will start crashing no matter how high ill raise the voltage (with the temp still at around 50c) so im confused why
Did you know that by overclocking you can get an extra 12 fps in your games, without even having to get another fan? The guide on my site is really cheap and helps you to overclock your computer, step by step, making it better than a high end thousand dollar one!

@cursed1815 does this program underclock the cpu and gpu when idle because since i have downloaded it my cpu is running at .8ghz idle and when gaming it jumps to its normal 3.4ghz speed...if so does it affect performance at all...and would you shut it off?
I just OC'ed my 955 to 3.8 ghz and GTA IV is running way better. I'm also using the stock cooler and temperatures haven't risen at all from when I was at 3.2 ghz, but I won't risk going higher.
nice great! plss i need help,i got my amd 925 x4 2.8ghz... i want to oc it but my multiplier is only14x and it is the maximum.can i get any better??i havent oc yet..i hope somebody help me.thank you...
@UTubeLightBulb At the time of this build i was still on air cooling using a OCZ Vendetta 2 i later got a 4.1Ghz O.C when i switched to water cooliong. However i used the Kandalf LCS liquid cooling embeded case which i think is significantly inferior to a custom compiled water system.
Why can I only get to Multiplier x19.5 (3.9Ghz) before my system hangs before others who get up to 4.5Ghz (I have water cooling). I also did a voltage boost anyone explain please?
i used 3.8 and it was fine at stock voltage, tryed 4.0 with 2 + then stock voltage, about 1420 but i get the blue screen of death when trying to play something =/
i have the same processor, im running at 3.8 and i changed a lil bit my hd5770 clocks, running fine, but when i put 4.0 with 1.4102V and try to play sum gams, i get the blue screen of death
why dont adjust the bios? if i just do it on the overdrive, ill have to keep setting it manually everytime i turn on my computer right? but if i do it in the bios, it will be overclocked 24/7
the way i use overdrive is to test/tweak my o.c you can try far more settings in way way less time then traditional bios o.c, then set bios when you get it tweaked out
Room has independant cooling, ambient temp was anywhere from 11 - 17 degrees C this system is now water cooled and running stable in reg room temps in my new house, i will show updated vids of the new system in future, am preparing for a new baby ATM thats takes more then i thought in a new house haha
how do you even implement acc? im a noob at overclocking. I know its in the bios but... is it something simple like just enabling it? or do you have to set a digit
it could be a few things, when i over volt my cpu to much it decrases the actual voltage and clock, have you over volted you cpu? also do you have adequate power supply in use? do you have software with your mobo that only overclocks as needed? have you tried o.c with bios? do you have the same problem if so?
@zekans337 What was the question? if your refering to your idle temp i have found that voltage jumps it up fast, did you increase that? if so there you go, otherwise u need to finish your q.
@zekans337 does it still bsod if you have it set on factory settings? have you updated you bios? if not that is the first thing i would due, MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CORRECT UPDATE FOR BIOS TRIPLE CHECK B4 YOU USE THE UPDATE!
@captainclayman yes at the time that was on vendetta 2 air cooler with a cold room, used window unit to lower temp. i think it was around 11-15 degrees c in room but held in warmer temps as well
because when u get a nice OC in the overdrive u must put the same settings in the bios so u dont need to run amd overdrive all the time that you start windows
I've done some OC'ing in the BIOS and I know the very basics. I don't think I would mess up and put the voltages way to high or something like that. But either way, I will fallow a tutorial when I'm doing it.
if you check the vboost for the auto clock it gives the program permission to over voltage your cpu,if you check it it will o.c it more but it is at your own risk, preferably i would check your maximum voltages and o.c it myself manually, but on a side note i over volt my more than auto clock does :)
What mobo are you running? have you updated the bios on it? my ASUS M4A79T Deluxe mobo would blue screen and crash, the problem was with bios, a update was out a while after i bought it that fixed the problem,
I own 2 bussinesses and work 60-80 hours a week easy, i just dont have time to provide detailed support for this software, i appologize but i am not intamatly familiar with this softwares faults for different cpu's ect, my video was a general tutorial into the work or software driven O.C, however for this program to work your cpu needs to have an unlocked multiplier and your motherboard should support O.C as well.
i got an amd turion x2 dual core mobile rm-70 2.00 Ghz processor and ATI radeon hd3200 i overclock my laptop by putting the multiplier to 10x but than my screen goes black and when i restart the computer no settings were on :S help please
why does my computer freeze when i apply the settings?? ive got a laptop with amd turion x2 dual core mobile rm-70 2.00Ghz cpu and ati radeon hd3200 graphics card :S help please
No i dont use this program for my primary o.c this is a good tool for the novice user and i highly recommend it for that. as far as the vendetta 2 i have a short video out on it
you can get a 4.0ghz o.c with it in a room kept cool however keep a close eye on temps as it is very border line for that high of an o.c i am water cooled now at 4.2 ghz
when you say kicks you? you mean you pc crashes? if so it has finished because it has indeed reached its max over clock that the software can reach on auto, to get more you will have to learn a bit to manually push the limits.
hmm.... good question, i dont see why not because it gives you the ability to individually control the cores. but if your multiplier is locked i dont belive it would work for anything other than mabye allowing you to overclock the FSB Freak.

@zekans337 What was the question? if your refering to your idle temp i have found that voltage jumps it up fast, did you increase that? if so there you go, otherwise u need to finish your q.
cursed1815 2 years ago
Without the voltage increase I get BSOD under stress :/ I'm using my motherboards "auto adjust" now for the voltages, think its at 1.42 or something
zekans337 1 year ago
@zekans337 does it still bsod if you have it set on factory settings? have you updated you bios? if not that is the first thing i would due, MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CORRECT UPDATE FOR BIOS TRIPLE CHECK B4 YOU USE THE UPDATE!

@captainclayman yes at the time that was on vendetta 2 air cooler with a cold room, used window unit to lower temp. i think it was around 11-15 degrees c in room but held in warmer temps as well

Please help me! When I use the AMD PverDrive it doesn't save my over clock. How can I save it? It really annoys me.
KapteinFruit 2 years ago
because when u get a nice OC in the overdrive u must put the same settings in the bios so u dont need to run amd overdrive all the time that you start windows
Maxguitarrista 2 years ago
Oh, OK. So if it works fine in OverDrive it will work fine in the BIOS?
KapteinFruit 2 years ago
yup, but be really careful, i recommend u to watch a video showing how to OC in the BIOS before touching the BIOS :D
Maxguitarrista 2 years ago
I've done some OC'ing in the BIOS and I know the very basics. I don't think I would mess up and put the voltages way to high or something like that. But either way, I will fallow a tutorial when I'm doing it.

good job dude :D
Maxguitarrista 2 years ago
Thanks :P
KapteinFruit 2 years ago
@KapteinFruit in my experience yes it works fine in bios too

How the hell do i turn off the auto clocker it keeps changing my speeds every 2 seconds ! >:(
Cairnsiee 2 years ago
do i check the voltage boost before start the auto clock? pls reply tnx in advance merry xmas
btnh050 2 years ago
if you check the vboost for the auto clock it gives the program permission to over voltage your cpu,if you check it it will o.c it more but it is at your own risk, preferably i would check your maximum voltages and o.c it myself manually, but on a side note i over volt my more than auto clock does :)

FubuMushu 2 years ago
What mobo are you running? have you updated the bios on it? my ASUS M4A79T Deluxe mobo would blue screen and crash, the problem was with bios, a update was out a while after i bought it that fixed the problem,
cursed1815 2 years ago
get a good cooler. Sounds like you're using the fan/hs that came with it.

I own 2 bussinesses and work 60-80 hours a week easy, i just dont have time to provide detailed support for this software, i appologize but i am not intamatly familiar with this softwares faults for different cpu's ect, my video was a general tutorial into the work or software driven O.C, however for this program to work your cpu needs to have an unlocked multiplier and your motherboard should support O.C as well.

why does my computer freeze when i apply the settings?? ive got a laptop with amd turion x2 dual core mobile rm-70 2.00Ghz cpu and ati radeon hd3200 graphics card :S help please
bolter146 2 years ago
Please tell me your not doing the majority of your OC'ing with this.
And please learn to OC without just a multiplier overclock. A good overclock has a balance between multiplier and Ref Clock.
A BIOS OC will give you a better, more stable overclock, rather than doing a driver based overclock with OD.
Also I am thinking of getting the OCZ vendetta 2 what do you rekon.
Also try Prime95 for stability and post results of temps etc.
PBMS123 2 years ago
No i dont use this program for my primary o.c this is a good tool for the novice user and i highly recommend it for that. as far as the vendetta 2 i have a short video out on it
you can get a 4.0ghz o.c with it in a room kept cool however keep a close eye on temps as it is very border line for that high of an o.c i am water cooled now at 4.2 ghz

I gave up on overdrive , i get better results OC through bios

when i use amd overdrive it freeze my computer what should i do i have Phenom II X4 955 a gigbyte motherbored ga-ma790x-ud4p 4 gs of ram gskill

I keep trying to run (novice)mode autoclock and it keeps kicking me :( it doesnt run the full autoclock anyone know why?
07NT 2 years ago
when you say kicks you? you mean you pc crashes? if so it has finished because it has indeed reached its max over clock that the software can reach on auto, to get more you will have to learn a bit to manually push the limits.

make sure your computer is in fact overclockable
unless it is a custom build chances are it is in fact not clockable
cursed1815 2 years ago
nice. good luck on your first build.
cursed1815 2 years ago
this wont run on my system
amd athlon 64x2 3800+ @2ghz
i hope it works on my new/first build

western digital caviar black 750 gig
sony optiarc dvd drive
mastersniper13 2 years ago
hmm.... good question, i dont see why not because it gives you the ability to individually control the cores. but if your multiplier is locked i dont belive it would work for anything other than mabye allowing you to overclock the FSB Freak.

G Day mate i got a 945 and this program too im just wondering. Can you use this program on a single core AMD 2.8
